M_longer Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Yes, it's coming next year. Half of a century with LEGO Technic. I'd like to remind you, that 9 years ago we got those; Technic 40 year anniversary model was only a combo model with PDF instructions. Ah, and these sets got this: What we have now are tons of licensed cars in all scales, a dying Control+, which was supoosed to be a multi-platform succes, 2in1 RC chassis and basically no decent flagships like 42043 and 42082. And true Technic showing mechanisms and various functions is carried lately by 42209 and 42242. What are your expectations about incoming wave of anniversary sets? Quote
Stereo Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Yeah, I'm expecting a printed brick. Maybe they'll splurge and do a bigger print on a 2x3 panel piece instead of a beam, since those go in most of the sets now. Quote
Paul B Technic Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I would love to see some older "clasisc" sets remade :) If they go one per year from the 1st, 10th, 20th, 30th and 40th years: https://rebrickable.com/sets/853-1/auto-chassis/?inventory=1#comments https://rebrickable.com/sets/8852-1/robot/#comments https://rebrickable.com/sets/8479-1/barcode-multi-set/?inventory=2#comments https://rebrickable.com/sets/8275-1/motorized-bulldozer/?inventory=1#comments https://rebrickable.com/sets/42070-1/6x6-all-terrain-tow-truck/?inventory=1#comments Or picking 5 "classic" sets: https://rebrickable.com/sets/8880-1/super-car/#comments https://rebrickable.com/sets/8043-1/motorized-excavator/#comments https://rebrickable.com/sets/8110-1/mercedes-benz-unimog-u400/#comments https://rebrickable.com/sets/8455-1/backhoe-loader/?inventory=1#comments https://rebrickable.com/sets/8258-1/crane-truck/?inventory=1#comments Quote
2GodBDGlory Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I don't expect we'll see much for the anniversary. There'll definitely be some acknowledgement, but I wouldn't expect a mere date to pull Lego away from their current (presumably) profit-optimized strategy towards something that would be more fan-service. I'd imagine something like those printed beams, and maybe one retro set, but probably not much more. I'd be happy to be proved wrong, though! Quote
yqc Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I think the best for me personally would be to produce the new biggest Technic set or even a few different, exceeding up to 10,000 or more parts. Quote

Jurss Posted 19 minutes ago Posted 19 minutes ago Some generic tractor, with those latest small tires, and with some printed anniversary beam or something, so that almost everyone can buy it. That would be the best, in my opinion. Yes, they can make also something huge, impressive, mix it with Star Wars theme, as it has the same birth year. But don't expect much. Quote
