I'd like to remind you, that 9 years ago we got those; Technic 40 year anniversary model was only a combo model with PDF instructions. Ah, and these sets got this: What we have now are tons of licensed cars in all scales, a dying Control+, which was supoosed to be a multi-platform succes, 2in1 RC chassis and basically no decent flagships like 42043 and 42082. And true Technic showing mechanisms and various functions is carried lately by 42209 and 42242. What are your expectations about incoming wave of anniversary sets? Quote

There'll definitely be some acknowledgement, but I wouldn't expect a mere date to pull Lego away from their current (presumably) profit-optimized strategy towards something that would be more fan-service. I'd imagine something like those printed beams, and maybe one retro set, but probably not much more. I'd be happy to be proved wrong, though! Quote

That would be the best, in my opinion. Yes, they can make also something huge, impressive, mix it with Star Wars theme, as it has the same birth year. But don't expect much. Quote

Definately not! Bigger isn't always better. If we are speaking for 1 set, we would have massive stability issues. Big sets just for the reason of being big don't make any sense at all. I'd rather have 3 well designed sets with 2000...3000 pieces than 1 set with 10000 pieces. Markus Kossmann said it in one interview, that the 42100 so far was the upper limit in terms of size/stability. For Lego Technic, I think one time they will top out at 5000 pieces. Quote

And the other crane also definitely seems buidable without any problems. Oh, and also don't build it like the 42100-1, where it's largely air inside and many motors powering functions directly, but more like the bodywork of the 42082-1, with one motor and a lot of gearboxes to control everything. Having something like the 42082-1 with a bigger base, where more could fit in (e.g. the whole battery box and motor, I find it a little weird from the weight distribution to put the in the carrier) and thus a larger top structure which could potentially get higher. Or, a bigger pneumatic set with more pneumatic functions would also be great. Potentially a well working pneumatic engine. Quote

A new iteration on the 8110 Mercedes Benz Unimog or its successor the 42043 Mercedes Benz Arcos. It always felt like there was one final boss to conquer in that series, that being full RC of all functions, drive and steering, a power controlled gearbox, and outriggers that lowered via power.
