  1. Thank you this is extremely helpful. These are for the PF compatible boxes I assume? i guess where I'm confused is that the black top battery box I have is the JV1079, that came with @eric trax’s CLAAS Dominator. It IS rechargeable and connects to my phone. But it uses the proprietary plugs. I thought CaDA was using colors to differentiate functionality and it would be the same for both lines, but clearly that’s not the case.
  2. Can anyone help me understand the utilitarian differences between the grey top, white top, and black top battery boxes? Is it as simple as wireless connectivity or are there additional functional differences?
  3. Should be within a few weeks for January 1 releases, and November-ish for March 1 releases; March can often be the better Technic date.
  4. I couldn’t possibly care less if the 50th set is licensed if we get something as good as the Mercedes Benz Arocs or the 8110 Mercedes Benz Unimog or the Liebherr Excavator. I honestly don’t see what licensing has to do with it. The issue with a set like the 2025 Volvo Excavator is that it was bad, not that it was licensed.
  5. In the US at least you can watch the store employees build them at the store entrance. My store put theirs behind plexiglass but the Arcade Pinball Machine was out and I can, um, personally verify that you can break the demo model.
  6. You can do that, you’ll pay a 15% tariff and a brokerage fee to whoever ships it (in essence you’re paying them to pay the tariff) UPS is charging $20-$60 depending on, well, it’s not clear, because they’re not transparent about it. Maybe that will change in January. Maybe not until 2029. Hard to say. But for now, that will eat any savings.
  7. Those were $85 and $80 though. This is $50. It’s much more intended as a kids toy IMO.
  8. On sale or discounted? It will most likely be available from the websites of Best Buy, Barnes and Noble, and Target for a while (but probably not for its entire lifespan), plus regional department stores like Scheels will probably stock it. The 1:8 cars rarely go on discount here. The Sian had a few discounts near the end, I haven’t seen the Ferrari on discount recently at all despite its looming (and now final) retirement. I bought both the Sian from a liquidator and the P1 from an importer and paid about $280 each, those deals take a LOT of legwork to find. Meanwhile in Europe it will be 20-30% off by October 😭
  9. This does not seem $40 better than the $10 42225. I assume we’re at Batcycle scale?
  10. In the US and Canada, the blue one was a Costco exclusive, available only at Lego or Costco. They’ve done the exclusive recolor thing here a few times, the Jesko recolor was exclusive to Barnes and Noble, the Huracan recolor was initially exclusive to Costco (but opened up later), and the Green Bugatti seems to be currently only at Scheels here.
  11. It’s available for preorder on Lego dot com, 89.99 is confirmed.
  12. Well yes, he was speaking in the sense of other production models. The dark tan recolors I’m sure will be popular with a certain set of builders as well, both MOCers and GBCers.
  13. While the parts are new, the designer went out of his way to note that all of the new parts except for the rims are designed and intended to be reused.
  14. In Lego’s own marketing video you can see a ton of not-technic stuff, from the wheels to the shifter to the seat. It’s pretty obviously not 100% technic. In any case I don’t know why it’s not okay for a Lego ambassador to go to a Lego ambassador event and report what they saw with disclosures. The car websites who just copy pasted the press release into an article are the ones who actually got taken for a ride here. I'm sure non-LAN folks like Brick Building Dad or Clever Pig will have a review up in a few weeks and as a bonus compare it to the CaDA AMG GT3. Feel free to watch those.
  15. Technic owns the #4, 5, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 19, and 24 spots on Rebrickable’s most owned sets list - it’s not niche. the issue with BDP now is there’s 500 submissions so you make a vote on a set in 3-10 seconds. A car that looks at a glance like something Lego already sells will suffer in that world. I think if someone submitted something with the visual impact of 42055 or 42009 it would have a good chance.
  16. It will probably have a 3 day insiders exclusive window (July 1-3).
  17. You could certainly design a switch / gearbox to link and unlink the doors from the hood, trunk, and each other. At the expense of even more backlash, but still, it could be done. And it would be a very technic thing for them to do on what seems to be shaping up to be the most technic-y set they’ve produced since 42131. The drums sure look like new parts to me. I don’t remember a channel that straight for that distance as the one in the photo.
  18. Yes. I don’t think it’s great as a display model, but I didn’t think the P1, Porsche, or Sian were either. I'm curious from reviewers if it’s different enough on the inside from the P1 to be worth an (eventual, discounted) purchase. I’m not optimistic, but it’s absolutely possible, we’ll see.
  19. Desires: 1. A space shuttle jam packed with powered functions, like they did with set 8480 2. A construction site or scrapyard, with a poweredUP, immobile crane, with a powered gearbox capable of selecting several extension functions, and capable of lifting at least a 1:14 scale technic car. 3. A new iteration on the 8110 Mercedes Benz Unimog or its successor the 42043 Mercedes Benz Arcos. It always felt like there was one final boss to conquer in that series, that being full RC of all functions, drive and steering, a power controlled gearbox, and outriggers that lowered via power. Probably a $500 set but hold hell it would be incredible. Expectations: a 50th anniversary 1:14 scale car.
  20. There was news earlier this year that “many” 2026 sets were being delayed by several months - but little in the way of specifics. The specific sets we did hear (some Pokemon, Sagrada Família) were the bigger ones. Might be the issue here too.
  21. The car licenses are virtually never exclusive, or are exclusive to a very specific vehicle. It would be shocking if that was the issue. I’m guessing the reason 42215 is retiring early is because seemingly no one liked it.
