The price point of the First Year at Hogwarts Castle sounds like a diorama or more likely another book nook. Maybe a Great Hall book nook. It could be another playset Great Hall, but it would be very small compared to the last one unless they get rid of the rock base underneath.

I suppose a Great Hall sorting ceremony book nook would make about as much sense to have on shelves at the same time as a $15 Sorting Ceremony set as the current Dumbledore’s Office book nook being released at the same time as a Dumbledore’s Office paperbag (while the Main Tower set which includes the same location is still on shelves).

Including interchangeable decorations (like the Slytherin to Gryffindor banners, jack-o-lanterns, or Christmas trees) would also explain the title.

If UniBricks is right and both are movie sets, that is clear indication movie sets will continue for the time being. I can't understand another PS movie based set though over a series set.

Both are likely passes for me as I expected. One modular castle wave was enough for me and now just the few other iconic scenes/structures would interest me.

Movie sets sell. Show sets might not do as well, as it‘s simply too early to tell. Diving head-first into show sets is not something I ever would‘ve expected TLG to do

As I‘ve said before, if even a Star Wars show required two successful seasons before TLG fully got on board, what chance does this show stand? My guess is that we‘ll see sets if the shows has high ratings.

They lose nothing by focussing on the movies still, while switching to the show bears risks.

Or maybe I‘m wrong and half the sets are based on the show :snicker:

Let’s hope it’s just a book nook or diorama and we still get the Astronomy tower! Otherwise it will be a massive disappointment

I like the pastel shade and the fact that it is a new variant, but as far as I can tell, Umbridge didn't have the locket swinging outside of her outfit when wearing this dress. Only when she is wearing the court outfit. So the minifigure in the last MOM set is more accurate. I guess Lego wanted to tempt collectors with a new variant, but also not provide a separate locket piece.

Ngl I kinda wish it was her Wizengamot robes, we’ve had three Umbridge variants since the reboot and I would have liked a more unique look of hers here.

75483 First Year at Hogwarts is the start of a new Hogwarts expansion system. I've seen the set. It contains both the Great Hall and Main Tower. A much smaller version and is based on the movies.

Credible source

Interesting. So it’s essentially a remake of the 2018 Great Hall set. Even the price point is similar.

Most people really liked the 2018-2020 Hogwarts system, so this new system might end up being popular after all.

Idk if I’ll collect yet another Hogwarts system simply due to lack of space and redundancy, but if it’s unique enough, I could certainly be swayed. I definitely like the price of it, and a wave of more affordable Hogwarts expansion sets would be really nice.

Fingers crossed the rest of the wave gets announced soon and hopefully includes a Deathly Hallows Ron!

But 8 years of inflation in there will make it significantly smaller. Very happy I got back into Lego during this recent modular wave because it is by far the best and looks to stay that way. $110 probably means around 900 bricks, so not sure how they can pull off both the Great Hall and Main Tower in that piece count and make it any way comparable to what just came out.

The 2018 system is a great castle system and is imo the best bang for your buck system. I especially liked their focus on Goblet of Fire through Half Blood Prince. So if it’s anything like that system, it’s a great gateway to get people into the theme. Personally won’t be getting myself, I think despite the Most Detailed Hogwarts being short an Astronomy Tower, I’m still more than happy with what we got and don’t think there’s much more a future Hogwarts system could do to get me to buy another.

First minifig leak from the MoM set, and it’s Umbridge! She wears the locket, meaning it’s partially a DH1 set. Not that I mind that, but I want it to be mostly based on OotP

It’s not really surprising that Umbridge would be DH1 based, because if the main scene Lego does in the set is the final battle from OotP, then she isn’t part of it. She’s one of the more well known Ministry characters and since we’re probably seeing a D2C Ministry in part because the popularity of the new Epic Universe ride made Lego realize it could be marketable, she’s kind of an important factor.

We’ve already had Diagon Alley and a Gringott’s including first year Harry and Hagrid despite the rest of the characters representing other movies, and Diagon also has Ollivander and the Weasley Twins in their suits manning their stores despite the bulk of the minifigs in that set belonging the CoS. Then the Burrow included Bill and Charlie despite being so scene specific that Percy is in his pajamas, and last year Hogsmeade included the trio and Katie from HBP while also having several PoA elements. So I’m not too worried about not getting OotP elements.

I am interested to see if we get more Ministry employees who weren’t part of the battle of the Ministry though. If Lego takes their usual approach, it’s possible we might see Rufus Scrimgeour or Amelia Bones.

ANOTHER bloody castle system?? Cut me a break :hmpf: At least this one’s smaller again to save some space, but it’ll probably pale in comparison to the current one at like a fourth of the price :snicker:

And of course it’s yet another system starting with a PS set.

I´d say it doesn´t have to compare with the current system, as that one was very detailed and quite true to the exterior of the film castle, even if there were some omissions like the Astronomy tower. The new system on the other side will, as some of us guessed, create a more affordable version of the castle, which totally makes sense. With the estimated price point we can be sure not to get a ground sections, so this system could give us a seperate playset of the chamber of secret, which could turn out pretty nice, depending on how big that set will be in the end.

That's not really a surprise, is it?

As others have said, the 2018 Great Hall included the Main Tower and was like EUR 100 with 10 figs (878 pieces).

These days however, EUR 150 gets you a Malfoy Manor facade with only 9 figs (over 1,600 pieces, but the result is so flat even LEGO's official pics show it laying on the table), and around EUR 110 gets you two pathetically small and un-detailed DA facades (Knockturn Alley which was one of the better entries had 788 pieces, and QQS had 795 pieces), so I wouldn't get my hopes up for anything substantial.

In other news, apparently there's a new Midnight Valley collection which is basically Winter Village but for Halloween. Are there any more HP subthemes you think they could serialize? Do we expect more "Secret classrooms" and the like?

Interesting. So do we still think the information was credible? Sorry I'm not familiar with the source.

I don't think the source itself deleted it. So yes, I still think he's credible.

I missed the source on the Facebook link, so someone credible confirmed the castle system is getting revamped again? Crazy.

Yes, sadly. But the previous castle systems both lasted 3 years each, so it’s not that surprising this one shares that fate. Still disappointing as I was hoping for the Astronomy and Clock Towers to finish it off, but alas… :shrug_oh_well:

Damn, I guess I get it to a degree that not everyone would be able to afford (monetarily or spatially) the existing castle system so maybe a little downscaling won’t hurt. But I think I’ll check out now if the Astronomy and Clock Towers aren’t being addressed.

Well if we suspect the great hall to be a new Hogwarts system set, and expect the wave to be similar to the 2018 one, I wonder what else we will get. I mean, that system didn´t really consist out of that many sets, so there should be some room for more sets aside from the castle, even if we are getting the normal grounds sets and some buildables. If they not just decease the number of sets that is.

I never understood why people expected the clock tower. It would be on the backside of the main tower with a completely open inside left and right from it, if it was connected in the right place.

The fact we didn't get the astronomy tower is really dissapointong. It is desperately missing in the silhouette. Skipping it while giving us 2 non-connected sets and the poorly done hospital wing that doesn't add to the silhouette at all is such a stupid decision.

So if the rumor is right and the next modular castle is still movie themed, we might get sets that work for both like the boat house, owlrey, and Hagrid’s hut did. The astronomy tower could fit into that maybe, but less likely. Best bet is a quidditch pitch
