Meaf Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Saw the Anzellan ship. I think it looks alright but I'm not too interested. It's funny that the ship scaled to the tiny guys is the best value out of any of the M&G sets we've seen so far, but I would have liked if it came with one or two minifigures (or maybe just more Anzellans). Stranger things have happened if Lego included the regular version for the former... and considering all their back and fourth, you just never know how they handle former UCS exclusivity for the latter. =) Quote

BrickBob Studpants Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Looks good! I like the colour scheme in particular ^^ Looks like the minifigs are indeed Carson Teva and Ward, plus an astromech. I was hoping for another minifig, but the minifig count being on the lower end is a pattern with this subtheme it seems Quote
icm Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Ok, there it is. Looks like we've basically got the nose cone, wing mechanism, and wings of the 75301 mated to the nose construction and tail cone of the RTG X-wing, with retractable 3-point landing gear as introduced by the RTG X-wing. 558 pieces is fewer than I'd like but it's not as bad as other SW prices, and it'll be ok when it comes down to 20% off. I don't like the stud shooters on the wings but they're easy to take off. It's not a big evolution from either of the past two X-wings but it's a solid, traditional, minifig-scale playset starfighter that isn't burdened by the Smart Brick. Quote

It's definitely the best value and the one I'm most likely to pick up, but I agree that getting two more Anzellans would have been nice. They are a single piece- albiet one with some complicated printing- I really would have liked to have seen at least 4 of them. 5 minutes ago, icm said: Ok, there it is. I think the price is definitely a bit much, but it's more of an Anzellan Starship "$5-10 overpriced but still pretty reasonable" than the Crest or AT-RT. The set itself is fairly solid. Good shaping all around, I still don't like the technic fuselage scrunch, but it doesn't seem as bad as the 2021 model. They're really getting the shaping nailed down for these X-wings. The minifigure selection is also fairly weak- is Ward this big of a character, that she has to show up as much as Mando himself in this wave?- but given lego seems to consider astromechs equivalent to full figs it's not unreasonable for a $70 starship set. Overall I would say it's on the weaker end for the $60-75 starships, but even the weakest of those is still one of the stronger offerings this year. The Anzellan Starship is still my favorite of the wave, but this is a definite second. Quote
CloneCommando99 Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Holy accidental Rogue One 10th Anniversary set Batman!! It’s a peak X-Wing (but overpriced). Gonna go well with my U-Wing. I’ll wait for Amazon sales but I feel like I might get two for my Rebel squadron. SW set of the year for me so far. The redemption from the Smart X-Wing is astounding. Let’s see how the Shuttle and AT AT and inevitable TIE Avenger will compare. 12 minutes ago, Mandalorianknight said: The minifigure selection is also fairly weak- is Ward this big of a character, that she has to show up as much as Mando himself in this wave?- but given lego seems to consider astromechs equivalent to full figs it's not unreasonable for a $70 starship set. Minifigs, aside from being £5 overpriced, is my one criticism. I feel like it should have included one more minifig, even if it was just a stormtrooper then the price could be more justified. I will defend Ward’s (is that her name? I thought it was Colonel Bishop?) inclusion because one of the first and few bts photos we saw was Sigourney Weaver in a flight suit by a X-Wing model. At least we got Carson Teva. Otherwise, solid build with a refreshing colour scheme. 46 minutes ago, BrickBob Studpants said: Looks good! My Merrick will finally have a blue squadron X-wing. Quote
Llewop Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Anyone know the U.K. price for this Xwing? Looks good imo. Love the colour scheme goes well with my red 5 and e wing Quote
Alex_South Posted February 12 Posted February 12 The U-wing makes a lot more sense now, it definitely doubles as an Adelphi rangers U-wing. If you got the E-wing too you would have a nice little Adelphi rangers crew. I think the new X-wing looks really cool but I don't care for new republic stuff. I also think 2 figs and an R2 in this seals the fate for Anakin's Delta-B, there is no way that gets more figures, much less a Dooku lol, arm printing at best. I am very excited to see the rest of summer. The piece counts are promising, that shuttle could be amazing if it's basically an improved 2015. The sandcrawler could be the same situation if it's an improved 2018, or it could waste most of its parts on side builds and Mudhorn, I have no idea, but it will probably go great with the Anzellan starship if you want to set up a junk trader outpost. Seeing how well they are improving other designs I am very excited for Anakin's delta-b, I love the color scheme but the angles that make the ship so cool are hard to implement in Lego form, it's why I disliked the original RC so much, Jang put it really well in his review, the original RC was just fine, but it didn't capture the angles and proportions that make the design so special. For me this new version is a huge improvement, it's such a good Lego representation. I am sort of hoping they can find a way to improve Anakin's delta-B considering all the new angled and sloped pieces they have now. Quote
Tariq j Posted February 12 Posted February 12 That looks really good, I like that they’ve gone for the blue colour scheme here. (The Antoc Merrick figure from one of the old advent calendars finally has a X-Wing!) First set of the wave that I really want to get. 13 minutes ago, CloneCommando99 said: Minifigs, aside from being £5 overpriced, is my one criticism. Swordy Posted February 12 Posted February 12 (edited) I hope I like the Anzellan starship with time, but right now it just looks like a cross between the Hoopty and a brick. The fact it only has two Anzellans at its price makes me less likely to buy it. The X-Wing, on the other hand, looks practically perfect. It takes the best of the ‘21 and ‘24 builds to achieve the best shaping a playset X-Wing has ever had. I’m glad we’re still with the Technic mesh, although next time it should be simplified. (Several builders on Rebrickable have shown how that can be done.) On top of all that, though, LEGO’s blue is a colour near and dear to me, so I very much look forward to picking this one up when I can. Only two minifigs is a tad disappointing; seems TLG want Zeb to be the desirable minifig of the RC, which is both understandable and frustrating at the same time. Still, glad to know Carson is on the way; curious how the printing will go, whether it’ll cover the stripe on the helmet and the side detailing or just the sides. The reused astromech from the ARC-170 is fine, although a reissue of the McDonald’s droid would’ve been nicer in my opinion. 46 minutes ago, CloneCommando99 said: Once again, I’ll say how this is a great coincidental set for the Rogue One 10th Anniversary. My Merrick will finally have a blue squadron X-wing. True. The only part that could throw it off would be the NR logo, but even if that is a print it seems exclusive to one piece. The swap should be quick and easy (and now my project of buying and modifying a second ‘21 X-Wing can be laid to rest). Hang on—is this the first time a New Republic logo has been included in a LEGO set? 6 hours ago, BrickBob Studpants said: My vague and unreliable powers strike again! It only took seven years. Five figs sound good. I hope this means an emphasis on the Sandcrawler’s build over the set being a fig-pack—but hey, this ain’t LEGO Marvel. (How ironic of a statement that is.) Edited February 12 by Swordy Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted February 12 Posted February 12 The BrickHeadz 5-pack includes Din, Grogu, an Anzellan, Ward, and a Snowtrooper without the protective gear, not sure what to call it This hopefully means they’ll include at least one of them in the AT-AT too! Quote
Alex_South Posted February 13 Posted February 13 (edited) are we confirmed as getting any more M+G sets later this year? Funko has shown some stuff, a cool mercenary droid, and a variant of Zeb I prefer over the flight suit: jacket and cargo-shorts zeb with staff. We better get a minifig of that version. Edited February 13 by Alex_South Quote
Llewop Posted February 13 Posted February 13 The post on Reddit says the x wing is releasing April 1st but I thought some of these were for May? I didn’t think we were getting an April wave so you think it’s a typo? Quote
hvader Posted February 13 Posted February 13 (edited) Wait so who are the “villains” in that “allies and villains” Brickheadz pack? Is Colonel Ward… evil? It surely can’t be the little Babu Frik dude Edited February 13 by hvader Quote

At least we got Carson Teva Maybe it's Ward Bishop or something (Though it'd be a bit odd for her full name to just be two different jobs) but all the merch I've seen calls her Ward or Colonel Ward. She apparently is a pretty major character- she's in the black series wave that otherwise only seems to include Mando (with grogu) and some of the trooper variants. Plus, as far as we currently know she's in as many TMAG sets as Mando himself. 2 hours ago, Alex_South said: are we confirmed as getting any more M+G sets later this year? We've yet to see the TMAG AT-AT. There's also a Sandcrawler and Imperial Shuttle coming, but from the show rather than the movie. There could be "spoiler" sets in the august wave, but between the smart sets and the fact that we're actually getting a good number of system sets this 1HY, whether or not we're even getting much of an august wave is a bit in question. We'll probably get minifg versions in the Mando ATAT which won't be compatible with the traditional Hoth snowtroopers... Hasbro are also releasing a "Remnant Stormtrooper" 4 pack which has rustbucket troopers like in Mando Season 1. They'd be pretty cool to include in a battlepack as opposed to more regular troopers. There are two more sets explicitly based on M&G, namely the AT-AT and an unknown $100 set. There could be more since we have two other unknown sets this summer, but these could pretty much be anything As @Mandalorianknight points out, the Sandcrawler and Imperial Shuttle are based on the show. BrickBob Studpants Posted February 13 Posted February 13 The mercenary droid seems to sport a cloak and drive a STAP, at least based on other toy leaks. Hopefully he shows up in a set too! Really cool design. Quote
Lobot Posted February 13 Posted February 13 All of the new sets are on the LEGO website: 75447 Razor Crest - £139.99 75445 Anzellan Starship - £64.99 75460 New Republic X-Wing Starfighter - £59.99 75444 AT-RT Attack £39.99 40856 The Mandalorian and Grogu: Allies & Villains - £34.99 The AT-RT seems ridicously overpriced, althought it's one of the better ones..... Quote
brimbolet Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Mediocre wave of sets somehow; really disappointed the Razor Crest has such little cargo space in the back. Maybe the proportions are much more accurate now but it's a huge minus on playability. And it's extremely expensive compared to the last Milano which had a great interior. Hopefully the Imperial shuttle will be better. Quote

The recent clone battle pack which was the same RRP as the AT-RT has been on sale for about £25 so about 30% off constantly since release I expect this to go down to that price point at some point. Even the razor crest same price as the MTT and CTT from August both went to under 100 at some point. Think the only one I’d buy day 1 would be the x wing I don’t get there release schedule why do 2 at the start of the month then the rest later? So we will be getting new sets January, March, April, May, June , July, August, September and October this year. Crazy that’s if the leaks are right about the release of everything post May, and September and October being the advent calendar and UCS releases Quote
