(This will do until @CloneCommando99's avengers posters reach The New Avengers) A momentous occasion- ICM needs to put that in his signature. I'm biased in favor of the falcon since I've wanted them to creep the price point down for awhile, but that bias can only get me from "the worst of an already extremely compromised wave" to "not the worst one but still horribly compromised" This is really concerning and something disney REALLY needs to get on top of. I've said for awhile that to regain some audience goodwill disney just needs this to be a fun popcorn movie, not a deep piece or $2b hit, but people do still need to watch the movie so they should probably start marketing it. I think you forgot a few- namely Mara Jade, but I also wouldn't mind a cheaper range trooper, purge trooper, Mara Jade, second sister, and if we're looking at legends, Mara Jade, Darth Nihilus, Bastila Shan, a new Shatele Shan, Mara Jade, HK-47 or his canon cousins, Canderous Ordo, Zaalbar, and of course Mara Jade. The New Avengers… I must have missed that one. Do you mean the Thunderbolts*? It may take a while to assemble a new group of Eurobrickers who only punch and shoot; obviously, you’re a guaranteed star as Moon Agent, (Apollo Agent? Am I jumping the shark?) and @Napoleon3 has earned a reservation somewhere. I’m sure CloneCommando has a good track record of everyone involved in the TIE Avenger campaign, though, so while I fear it’ll take a while to get there, it’s not impossible. I mean, to be fair, I believe you or CloneCommando have done it too—although I truly think icm is on another level in Swordy’ing me. I had to delete my essay-in-progress after reading his thoughts. True. $100 is a nice price point for a Falcon, especially for new fans. I would rather the newcomers get the proper LSW introduction than the ability for myself to collect an updated Shulp Gitto. In my view, however, the compromises it took to cross that threshold don’t make it worth the effort. I feel sorry for any kid whose only options for the Falcon have been a decent one based off the least notable Sequel, a fantastic yet non-minfig compatible set, or this hideous, lumpy Hawk that includes a roster of iconic yet compromised figures. Especially with the Super Bowl ad in mind, yeah… Lucasfilm needed two more trailers yesterday. Mind you, I like the ad a lot; presenting Mando and Grogu as real life celebrities is a brilliant concept. It fails when it’s our second, maybe third look at this movie. If they think people will go to the movie just because they have good memories of Mando S1, then Lucasfilm forgets that in between ‘20 and ‘26 was some of the worst content branded under SW. (Andor very much excluded.) The name Star Wars has gradually lost its trust with audiences—even the title of Mandalorian lost its trustworthiness with S3. “I don’t know. I have a bad feeling about this.” I can’t believe I missed Mara Jade! This is an devastation worse than Alderaan—truly—and I am deeply sorry. I’m seriously kicking myself for forgetting Bastia Shan. I guess it’s because I have some random custom of her from a few years back… although it’d be far better to see an official minifig. I’d be as excited for her minifig as a Mara Jade one. That also reminds me of another longtime wishlisted minifig of mine, being Jania Solo. In particular, her black X-wing pilot jumpsuit always spoke to me—although it would run the risk of overlapping too much with Mara Jade. (May she forever slay even in her non canon status) Wow, that meme works perfectly. (Although I feel wrong calling anything from that episode a meme… memes should inspired humor, not heartbreak all over again.) Aha… so @Agent Kallus was a former villain who turned to the good side before Brickest Night. How else does one explain the correlation between Brickheadz Joker and Brickheadz Kallus? A very reasonable take—not to imply at all that your other past takes aren’t, I’m just impressed by your logical answer. Taking my sentimentality out of the question, I’d have to agree. Can’t believe you forgot Mara Jade. Haven’t you been screaming for her since the Coughing Baby? I’m downright ashamed of myself for forgetting Varian Skye—Bix too. Reading through your list reminds me of all to which we have to look forward in LSW. So better nobody complain about “yet another year of grey triangles and TIEs” if it brings us any of those characters. (Especially that one redhead from Legends.) They need a Rogue one quality or higher movie to get Star Wars back into the mainstream. Very true. Star Wars had a staying power because it was deep, mythological themes wrapped in a fun popcorn event. If Star Wars wants to survive in this current onslaught of shifting IPs, it needs to position itself as more than a cheap thrill. Why, once the hype of the Infinity Saga faded off, the MCU has waned in cultural approval because the goal of popcorn fun was put over gravitas. I’ve been thinking a lot about how the creation of Star Wars storytelling relates to the evolution of ancient mythologies. Without getting too deep into it on the wrong forum, Disney’s prioritization of content over meaningful story may soon hinder future perception of this modern mythology. Eventually people will tire of seeing “Star Wars,” and instead of new shows and movies expanding George’s myth, they’ll become a clump of noise that pulls down even the brilliant original saga. Selfishly, I’d love to see plenty more Mando and Grogu, and for that reason I hope the movie does well. Nevertheless, I can’t help but wonder if Disney is striking again with their “quick buck approach” by relegating Din and Grogu to meaningless adventures of the week—something even S1 was not. New reveals/rumors: I quite like the laser turret build; not only does it look good, it also looks very playable with its storage inside. (Maybe it can even fit the Imperial inside as well? That’d be extra fun.) The AT-RT is fine, just oversized and losing out on accurate shaping. My deal is; if you’re going to use small pieces to “detail” an AT-RT anyway, why not configure those small pieces into an accurate size of AT-RT? I love the new Razor Crest! Parts like the guns and engines are aspects I’d absolutely rip from this box and put on my 2020 RC. The more robust landing gear and just-ever-so-slightly smoother cockpit is gratifying to see too. I will complain about the shaping on the front of the “arm” to the engine and the slope between the gun and the door. The interior is also sorely small. The Imperial AT-RT driver is a fun variant. New leg print on Mando is nice—toe printing’s been needed for a while. Sigourney Weaver is the worst simply because she lacks leg printing and her face print doesn’t match what we’ve seen of her character so far. New Grogu is great the more I stare at him. I was a fan of the original babyfig, actually, but I do greatly appreciate the molded scarf and accurate shaping. Shockingly it also appears he is still 1 stud deep and wide; hopefully he can still fit in the shoulder-strap element too. Oh, but Zeb… They went all out for yet another long-requested minifig and I’m so glad for this trend. Plus, the expression looks much more like Zeb’s character than the 2014 minifig did. I hope he comes in Carson’s X-Wing, but if not then I’ll definitely pick up the new RC purely and simply for him… oh, then make some excuse about “It was such a good deal,” or “I needed the parts to upgrade my fully modded Razor Crest.” 13 hours ago, CloneCommando99 said: The full list got revealed. I’m glad to have another shot at collecting S2 (non-clone) Gideon. Elia Kane would’ve been better than another Fennec, but I’d would’ve like to finally add Koska Reeves too. Bo Katan could’ve been reused in addition to everyone else to further round out the scene. Curious if Fennec’s head will use warm tan now. Either way, this set sounds like a lock for me. In my defense, I was selfishly trying to bump it up the list of @CloneCommando99's posters by using it's secondary, more explicitly avengers title. Can't be Apollo Agent- Moon Knight fits the sun in some way or another on a regular basis. Exactly. A $100 falcon is a great concept, but the smart falcon is far from the desired execution. The bright side is the TMAG X-wing implies we can still get a "dumb" falcon for the anniversary, but I'd imagine it would be a $180-200 set. Which could be excellent- if it's an improvement over the 2019 model and ANH based I'll likely purchase it- but it's not really accessible for kids. There definitely wouldn't be anything wrong with it being a joke ad in the middle of a campaign, but like you say, it's the second thing we've publicly seen for this movie. That is NOT the right place for a spoof commercial. It legitimately feels like Disney wants this movie to fail (or more likely, that they're extremely overconfident in Mando and Grogu's popularity and don't think they need to properly market this.) It's alright- so long as you don't forget Mara Jade. That's the important one. (Or Mara Jade, I guess). Forgetting Bastila's pretty understandable given we've had Shatele, who design wise is pretty much a color swap. (And story wise is arguably cooler- that visual of her holding the lightsaber blade back with her bare hands is burned into my mind.) Jaina would be another good one, and it's always nice to get new pilot jumpsuit colors too. 4 hours ago, CloneCommando99 said: Alright, let’s do this one last time…. Good one. I just feel like Mando doesn't need to be in every set based on the show, so if one isn't based on a scene he's in (which Gideon and Fennec would imply), I'd prefer somebody else. Especially if we aren't basing it on a specific scene and could get somebody we haven't had a proper version of yet, like Cara, Mayfield, Koska, or Woves. Great shaping, feels very complete, I like the engines. Price is by far the most reasonable of the wave- I'd have preferred if this stayed at $70 like the other starships, but $75 is still fairly reasonable, especially compared to the rest of the sets in the wave. And while not being actively used as a drop pod, it even includes that crate I'm pretty sure an Anzellan can fit inside. I don't know if it would be a day one buy- I would have liked if we had, like, five anzellans in here- but it's the only one of the four sets that's definitely on my radar and a potential buy at or around full price. The more I write about it the more I think I'm just going to buy it. Llewop Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Must not be seeing the same pictures as everyone else that ship looks shite. Its only redeeming feature is the fact it doesn’t have Mando in it. TeddytheSpoon Posted February 12 Posted February 12 There's got to be a good joke about downsizing to be had with this. Quote
BrickPrick Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Alright, some of my thoughts about the three leaked sets so far: I like the colour scheme of the new Razor Crest. Though the compact design makes it look a little too short and chubby for my liking. It sticks out more like a sore thumb than other spaceships to me. As unlike as something as the downscaled Coruscant Guard Gunship, the RC doesn't have the actual wingspan to compensate or hide some of these asthetical shortcomings. Other than that, the downward spiral of supposed flagships containing less than a thousand pieces sadly continues. The new Grogu received a much needed upgrade, though. And although I have zero connection to this Zeb character, I always enjoy this vibrant Alien figures. The AT-RT Attack is fine overall, but the lack of more minifigures is yet again really annoying. This also doesn't appear to be a $40 set Lego just sells you for $45. No, this is arguably a $30 set that got a 50% price increase just for the heck of it. A couple of additional troops definitely wouldn't have killed them. I really like the new Remnant AT-AT Driver, looks sorta like a cross of Snowtrooper and Imperial Hovertank Pilot. So getting just this single one is a shameful display. The new Anzellan Starships looks more weird than wonderful to me. While new shapes are always welcome and a breath of fresh air for Star Wars vehicles, there's something that looks just off to me. Can't quite put my fingers on it, but it reminds me of the Starship Collection. In particular, The Invisible Hand. It otherwise feels also weird to get that gnometown figure selection. It may make sense given the source material, but it still looks ridiculous. All in all, there's nothing too crazy or exciting for me going on, as expected. The Razor Crest and AT-RT Attack are heavy deep discount contenders, while the Anzellan Starship will be an easy skip for me. Quote

Brickify Posted February 12 Posted February 12 (edited) Really only interested in the lambda the AT-AT maybe but having the Ucs I really don’t feel like I need a system scaled one anymore. At this point it kind of sucks to have mando and grogu penciled in for two automatic slots I get it’s their movie but I’m tired of their figs lol.The only thing for this movie that has me interested LEGO wise is some new imperial troop figs/variants. Hopefully with the rerelease of the tank driver mould we get some shore troopers, personal wish would be the gray juggernaut driver variants but I doubt it. Edited February 12 by Brickify Quote

I woke up this morning and all I saw was a bulk cruiser that would bore Han Solo to tears. I have an idea, let's let a rathtar loose in the hold! By Grabthar's Hammer, by the Suns of Warvan, Han Solo shall be avenged! With a shiny spiky new TIE Fighter. Right, Lego? That's what you're going to reveal today, right? Separately, does anyone have any idea when the DC-3 is expected to be revealed? There's a leaked picture going around and it is amazing. Clocks right in at about 1:38 too, so perfect 1stud:1foot minifig scale. I don't expect it to have an interior and I think the nose shape and the windscreen could be better, but other than that it's very impressive. Quote

So maybe they’re waiting for that. 2 hours ago, Llewop said: Probably going to be on US time so be later on I reckon Hopefully. The guy who leaked the shuttle fig list seems to think the X-Wing is getting revealed with the others as well. A couple of hopes for the X-Wing: blue colours, Carson has a jacket print, acool imperial minifig or two (perhaps the film’ warlord) to fight and a Zeb reuse (unlikely) 39 minutes ago, Brickify said: Really only interested in the lambda the AT-AT maybe but having the Ucs I really don’t feel like I need a system scaled one anymore. At this point it kind of sucks to have mando and grogu penciled in for two automatic slots I get it’s their movie but I’m tired of their figs lol.The only thing for this movie that has me interested LEGO wise is some new imperial troop figs/variants. Though I’m looking forward to the X-Wing as well. I agree the constant reuses are annoying. Maybe the shuttle could have included someone other than Mando (Elia Kane), but I personally don’t find it as egregious as if it was Farmboy Luke as you can pretend your excess Mandos are their own sect. Completely agree. Lego’s just dropping the ball by not making an Imperial remnant battlepack with 2 stormtroopers and 2 other trooper variants (any of: scout trooper, grey tank driver, incinerator trooper.) it would satisfy both OT fans and Mando fans whilst keeping a Battlepack on shelves taht could work for future projects. The X-Wing and shuttle should be good. But what I really want is… TIE AVENGER!!!
