So it looks like in addition to the new fish skeleton and trashed pizza box print the Trash Monster also comes with a clear 1x1 round tile with a fly print. The designers really went all the way with that character.

Good:

-Monster Hunter comes with fabric hip piece to imitate a tailcoat

- Cute Witch has a printed ruffle skirt and the most adorable kitty socks

Disappointing:

- Goalie was not hiding any sort of leg prosthetic, he really is that boring 

- Chocolatier just has the brown dragon and a little white two part stand to display it on, no chocolate making tools like a spoon or whisk (Edit: it looks like the official renders left out a piping bag she comes with)

Weird:

- the unicorn foal’s horn is transparent clear, which I’m personally not really feeling and will be swapping out with something else (luckily the part already exists in several colors)

Unicorn horn seems more of a satin, rather than properly transparent.

Interesting for sure that no specific visible abilities were represented in this series, monster hunter’s eyepiece notwithstanding

It tricked me as well.... Even today seeing the official better pic, I can't still make sense of the hat in the leaked pic. I can't even see the printing it has

Yep. That figure is excellent though - especially with the gold detail on the uniform

The shako hat hasn’t been around for long though – it was only introduced in this January’s modular building, meaning this is only the second color it’s come in and arguably the best way to army build a full marching band until the hat and torso from the set go up on pick a brick.

Yup, I do need marching band hat and uniform off PAB! I can’t wait for CMF to introduce trumpet or drum in future.

Huh, I didn’t realize it was using the same mold as the imperial guards. Weird that it’s been around that long but they only started using it for marching bands this year.

Now that we have full photos out, I think my shopping list will be:

Get 2-3: Unicorn Elf

Get 1: Bonkle, Monster Hunter, Trash Monster (he's grown on me a lot)

Maybe get: Chocolatier, Witch, Lloyd

Parts only: Maine Biologist, Tuba Player

Pass: Robo T. Rex (Cool, but doesn't match my collection), Boba, Soccer Player

Overall, a decent spread. I'll have May 1st off, so I should hopefully be able to go hunting without too much issue.

It was always evident it had been 'enhanced' with AI, look at the the text in the top left of image, it's a garbled mess. In turn the tuba player's hat looks melted. I'm not saying it was a given he was wearing a shako but the hat as it appears in the leak was not going to look like that.  It's possible the leaker just used AI too remove a watermark or unwanted text over that portion of the image.

It was also used in the Toy Soldier over a decade ago.

Is there a particular reason that they started reusing so many prints in CMFs or is it just the factories making them no longer being separate so they've decided to cut costs where possible? I think it really makes the generic City figs in a series feel like much bigger duds when there's so little unique about them. Like the Chocolatier, I think, especially feels like a forgetable figure from a City set

They‘ve been reusing faceprints in CMF series for a couple of years now, but it‘s only like one or two a series at most ^^ The CMF series sharing factories with regular sets is certainly a factor here, but I doubt it‘s due to cost-saving. What difference does a faceprint make in the grand scheme of things?

I think it‘s more about coming up with unique faces for the more generic minifigs. After 29 series, it must be tricky

I think it can make a lot to be fair, can and a lot of unique personality, sell the joke of a figure better or be an excuse to introduce details that aren't on faceprints much. But I fully acknowledge that's not how they're normally used, 90% of CMF faces are just generic male or female faces with wide grins. It's more a disappointment in a loss of potential than something more tangible, though if it isn't a budget thing then they should give CMFs original faces, if for nothing else then to give them an excuse to make more different types of faces with hearing aids, or braces or whatever. Like if they could easily make new faces at no other disadvantage then it's better for customisation to do a hearing aid face with cheekbones or whatever to allow more people to make themselves.

For me, one Trash monster and one Tuba player will cover it.

Unless I decide I want a full marching band. Heck with an army of the Shopping Street band guys I could have a whole dang parade.

For me, I will collect ALL of those minifigures. 

But I might get extra Trash Monster, Cute Witch, Bionicle Cosplayer, Chocoatlier for my city. I need Trash Monster’s accesories (for alley), sitting cat (for alley or apartment), (unless if sitting cat (for alley or apartment), Chocolatier and her accretes (for business), Bionicle Cosplayer (for streetscape). Unless bonefish, rotten pumpkin, trashed pizza box, and sitting cat show up in either City or BAM, I don’t need to get extra Trash Monster and Cute Witch. I just like to populate my city with add-on accredited and normal minifigures.

Unsurprisingly I will pick up extras of the Marine Biologist, Cute Witch & Unicorn Elf: ostensibly for the animals, but thankfully I also like the figures.

… of the others I will probably pick up a few Trash Monsters for both the figure and all the accessories, and the Tuba Player for that sweet uniform.

The rest are largely meh/not my thing though I can appreciate some of them will be popular.

Though I’ve no interest in footballer figures I do think the colour scheme and print on the goalkeeper & ball are quite awesome.

You know what? Fiar about oriignal and unique Santorini’s for CMF.  It’s kidna odd taht monster Hunter has a grin while she is slaying a monster (probably emotionlessly / soullessly?). She probably needs a determined or angry facial expression. I alawys appreiciate new faceprints for in-house CMF, although I odn’t mind reusing faceprints. Just no more grins/smiles/smirks.

I think it is actually transparent glitter,  definitely shouldn´t be satin that wouldn´t be as clear.

Yeah, that part (aside from the clownfish) really adds to the figure IMO. 

Overall I think it is a great series again, my favourites are the elf, Lloyd (even beeing no Ninjago fan) and the monster hunter, while the least favourite ones are bobacostume, goalkeeper and witch. I like the cat, but the witch is just not my thing.

My specific wishlist is Chocolatier, Cute Witch, Monster Hunter, Robot T. rex, Trash Monster, Tuba Player, and Unicorn Elf...but I'll keep the Boba Tea Girl if I get her, and the Marine Biologist will be good for the clownfish. Anything else is probably a resell.
