Sure, had I seen the torso & legs without context I also would’ve assumed it was a Ninjago minifig (minus the printed arms perhaps). What I was getting at is the colour scheme. This isn’t even green, so how did they think it was Lloyd? :snicker:

Im kind of lost when it comes to Ninjago lore

with what we are seeing, does it make sense that this is Lloyd? 

 

Its kind of suspicious that the leaker removed the head to the take the pic... Its clearly the same leaker who posted the other characters

As I said the other day: the leaker must be very young, since their mind immediately went to Ninjago after seeing this torso/legs

It looks Ninjagoish to me or even Dreamzz.  I'm so glad the codes on the boxes are scannable because so far I'm not overly interested in what's coming in this series based on what's been leaked so far.

On the one hand, CMFs in general is a mish-mash of different characters and themes as it is, with the hope that one who might buy an entire set would have use for majority of the figs in collections or MOCs. But on the other hand, this particular CMF series seems so random in the themes it is incorporating, with a Ninjago or Ninjago-ish fig included.

Hmmm… I’m not sure if I’m 100% convinced that ronin is suppsoed to be a minifigure for Ninjago rather than himself/herself? If that is indeed a ronin, I still don’t get it why the laker would mistake that one for Lloyd since there is no a green scheme. No head avaialbe yet…

I mean, sure you don’t have to buy ALL minifigures in series.  But it’s regular CMF we are talking about and I agree with @hikouki

In artist’s eye, teal is actually a deep blue-green color more than green. I can’t tell if it’s “new” ninja for Ninjago then!

It is a new look for Lloyd. The figure's torso and legs have a style of gi print almost identical to that seen on Ninjago characters, the main colours look to be dark green with medium green accents (though the lighting is messing them up a bit), and his belt clasp and back both appear to sport a stylised version of the Ninjargon letter 'L' like some past iterations of Lloyd's design.. Not to mention that the head, which we have yet to see but the original leaker likely did, is also very likely to look like Lloyd.

That’s an intriguing explanation. Not too long ago, i was Googling and there was a character called “Ronin” in Ninjago arrest (i think he showed up in season 5). It seems that he wore teal outfits.  But I think your point makes more sense.

There is a guy called Ronin in Ninjago, but he's more sand green and orange rather than the dark green and medium green we see on this minifigure. The name 'mysterious ronin' for this minifigure seems to refer more to the archetype rather than a specific character. 

Morro was the main villain of Ninjago season 5, being the ghost of one of Wu's old students that ended up possessing Lloyd, and he had a green and black tattered aesthetic similar to the leaked figure. I don't think it's Morro given the emphasis on the L symbols and lack of the dragon symbols found on every iteration of Morro (though some Lloyds have had those as well, so it wouldn't have been a dead giveaway), although there is a possibility of it being a new possessed Lloyd, even though it lacks the dragon symbol.

Thank you very much for more information about Ninjago stuff! I guess Mysterious Ronin could be Lloyd after all.

From what I'm reading on reddit and such, it seems that symbol on the back IS related to Ninjago (and honestly it looks kind of out of place for a normal "ronin" minifigure)

Historically, in general, ronin wore muted and worn-out clothings to blend wiht common population in feudal Japan. The colors they wore were indigo, black, brown, grey and/or natural/color colors. I guess this ronin is more Ninjago than historical figure after all. 

To the person who leaked ronin’s torso and legs, just show us that darn head!

I’m wondering if these physical leaks come from a factory worker or someone else who’s able to grab parts off the assembly line instead of someone who’s gotten some boxes early. Because the Bionicle Cosplayer leak we have is also just a torso and legs. When you think about it, so far the leaks we’ve seen don’t include accessories or new molds, and the only actual head we’ve seen (not counting the pumpkin), was the Unicorn Elf who has rather identifiable metallic printing on her alternate face. The Cosplayer and Ronin would have faces that are far harder to pick out of a crowd, so if these leaks are coming from someone lifting individual parts out of a factory then they might have left the heads behind because they can’t tell which ones go with the bodies.

That could not be invalid. I think it’s not just Unicorn Elf that has head but Monster Hunter has a head. But still, leaker could not be sure which head goes with which minifigure correctly. 

I just want to see Mysterious Ronin as a whole. Well the waiting game continues.

I forgot about her when writing my post. Still works though, since she’s got that steampunk style eye lens thing that blatantly fits her aesthetic nearly as much as the Unicorn Elf having a magical burst on her forehead does. 
 

I just remember how when series 20 came out and parts started leaking I saw the helmet from the Red Ranger character associated with a head that ended up being from Monkey Kid at one point (actual Red Ranger head is painfully generic). Without identifying features like magic or gadgets, faces for a cosplayer, ronin, soccer player, or marine biologist could be hard to match to their bodies, and if the person snagging the parts is seeing them in the same context as upcoming City sets…
