Yup, I think that's gonna be the issue. It seems cool, it honestly seems like decent value in terms of PPP/PPG/PPVolumeofstuff, but at the end of the day $1000 on a single set is $1000 on a single set, no matter whether or not it's good value.

This is the Lego Star Wars theme in a nutshell to me. I like a lot of the actual sets, but i rarely like the pricing. Which is admittedly still better than the other way around, because quality should be the top priority. But yeah, i always thought releasing the first ever $1000 set and making it look worthwhile to people, would be a near impossible task for Lego. As the moment you do something unprecedented is usually met with shocked reactions regardless. I don't even know what aspect would make the UCS Death Star worth a thousand bucks. The build is huge and well designed for the most part... if you can tolerate the design decision to make it a Death Disc. The minifigure selection is very solid, but the execution is not up on the level it's supposed to be. So giving fans the minifigures as accurate and detailed as they deserve, might have helped tremendously. You don't wanna count the compromises being made in a set of this scale after paying them a fortune... No, you want to forget the price as soon as you open the box and having an awesome time putting this thing together. Like in a "yeah this was a huge amount of money, but i am satisfied with what i got" kinda way.

So it looks like the D23 showcase is over. And what new things were revealed? Absolutely nothing.

According to IGN they showed the same exact trailer for M&G as SW Celebration and last year’s D23. And they still haven’t released it to the public. What is the point?

Nothing for Maul Shadowlord either.

Disappointing.

Honestly I wouldn't be too broken up if we get a Wolfpack battlepack next year but I would hope that if we do that's the last of the clones we see for a while, at least in BPs. Really would like a decent regular imperial or rebel one sometime. Some less common factions would be great too, maybe a generic jedi one? I suppose there's a decent chance we might get an imperial one next year for M&G, if nothing else.

Here's the thing- unlike a lot of star wars sets nowadays, I don't think the death star is overpriced. I think it does legitimately represent solid value for the cost. If they split the dioramas and figures up to like 20 sets totaling $1000 between them, I think the value would be there- I mean, with this single $100 set the value is hypothetically there. I just don't see too many people dropping $1000 on a single set.

See, I like the wolfpack, and unless it's the $45 battle pack I'd probably pick at least one up, but there's so many "just one more legion" style comments, when I think all that does is continue the oversaturation- they're already doing partial repeats this year with the half-332nd battle pack. I think you just pause on the clone battle packs 1-1.5 years, then you drop a wolfpack, then the next year a 41st, then a 212th or popping back to 501st or something. If we can just get it down to one a year, I'd be happy.

If one of those may/march sets is a battlepack I do have faith that it’s going to be an OT one. But if it has to be clone at least let it be a new legion or the marines in a cheaper set so we don’t have to buy that monstrosity. I’m holding out hope for maybe a ATT or AT-AP next year I know we’ve had them recently but I sold my last versions for really good price back in the day and I’d love a chance for a newer one. But watch that potential battlepack be a 501st one. I mean next year it will have been 6 years since the last one came.

More images of the Death Star because of an apparent eBay listing. The more I see it the more I want it but man the only way I’d get it is if there is a lotto win or I win won of these lego competitions that keep popping up online in the U.K.

Mando and Grogu film is intriguing as it feels like it’s so quiet news wise. There’s four actors on IMDb for the film plus rumours of a couple of others in the film. I wonder when we will know more. As those films sets hold a lot of potential imo.

Well, if i were to humor the idea the Diorama Collection format, fittingly the Emperor's Throne Room set, is not clearly overpriced to begin with, then... yeah, maybe? But i don't, so i don't.

I also don't think ripping away the total minifigures from a premium priced set, splitting them up and applying those to a variety of smaller system scale stuff works very well in favor of justifying or defending the value for the former. Even if it ultimately ends up being the same price, the amount of minifigures would never match properly, because it ain't a proportional process of adding them from regular releases to huge premium products. I mean, taking the 38 minifigs from the UCS Death Star would leave you with less than two figs on average for your suggested amount of sets. Since every set would retail for 50 bucks, does this sound realistic to you? No, it would be more like at least 60 figures in total. Unless we are talking only talking Dioramas with three figs per $100 like the aforementioned Throne Room.

What a waste. I liked my initial idea much better. This joke aside, you can definitely do much better than this. I don't know what's the point of this, either.

I think the UCS Falcon and AT-AT are a much better value, the death slab simply isn't cool enough to warrant a $1k price tag.

This one does surprise me, given how often lego releases AT-RTs. If they put out a little $10 AT-RT with a driver and chewbacca or Yoda or something, it'd be a solid set. New trooper variant, accurate size for popular vehicle, and major character for $10.

I like this idea. If Lego thinks it is too cheap they could add the escape pod and some vegetation and make it $25.

I don’t want to sound like a clone fanatic but the only 2026 set I am interested so far is the Super Commando/Clone battle pack.

Nah. It won’t be because Lego can’t use Battledroids to jack up a $40 price in a OT Battlepack. Unless… Imperial Ghorman Shenanigans BP?

Yeah, it’s annoying. It doesn’t even look like there are any SW projects until then. I honestly think the decision to not release it for May 4th is bogus now that Doomsday’s been delayed, especially in the UK since May 4th 2026 coincides with Mayday Bank Holiday. Like, isn’t a SW movie for SW day a good marketing strategy?

I pray for March news soon. Both DC and SW.

Well it’s releasing on the other May bank holiday but you are right weird not on May the 4th itself. It’ll make loads of money regardless but just find it weird how they’ve been showing the same trailer for at least a year? Remember seeing it leaked from some sort of convention or celebration a while ago. Just hope to hear more about the sets for this film

Yea I get clone fatigue but ngl I’m rooting for a new Wolfpack Trooper and P2 Commander Wolffe for the $44.99 spot, it’s the last legion I really want. It’s also really the only thing I want from Lego Star Wars that feels somewhat realistic, I own all the OT stuff I want and all the PT stuff I want will probably not get made (Theed Palace, Geonosis Droid Factory, Geonosis Arena, Bounty Hunter pursuit remake, yada yada) Zero interest in Disney era Star Wars besides Andor.
