BrickBob Studpants Posted July 26 Posted July 26 Awesome that the „actual size“ reference box highlights Galen Erso! I see that as a personal apology to Mads Mikkelsen Quote

At least 5 stormtroopers but possibly more. Good spot, I agree there are probably more, the left of the storm troopers is covered up. I would guess Tarkin is to the left of Vader, and a sixth storm trooper is to the left of the five we see. Looks like Farmboy Luke is the furthest left in the first row. There appears to be a new Imperial Astromech in the bottom row, and then the left of the bottom row (and under the hand is all we cannot see - unless there are more elsewhere but that is unlikely as this box roughly shows the 38). Edit: My guess on the four we cannot see (middle row far left - stormtrooper number 6) (under the hand, pilot number 2), and to the left 2 Navy troopers. Edited July 26 by Lordhelmet Quote

Plus if Luke and Han come with helmets that’s also two more. 22 minutes ago, BrickBob Studpants said: Awesome that the „actual size“ reference box highlights Galen Erso! Apparently not - Clay_Bricks has said that the dignitary's hat is "Close, but hers will be wider and have her hair coming out the back." Quote
Darth_Bane13 Posted July 26 Posted July 26 I like how they still use the same royal guard helmet from 2001, it's pretty much perfect. Quote

Can't really make out his face but that old one was perfect, and yeah not sure I like the hair choice. I guess it's more like how he looks in Andor? Yes, as far as i can tell, i prefer his May the Fourth promo figure as well. And i don't think they would base just a single figure on Andor for the UCS Death Star. Just Episode IV, VI and Rogue One. 12 hours ago, Darth_Bane13 said: Yeah it's him or Malak for me, would be Cal if they included his poncho... Yeah, it would have been a close call if they included Cal's poncho. But in this scenario i gotta give the edge to Gerrera. His dual colored cape is spectacular and the detailed printing is very much to my liking. Quote
Darth Malgus Posted July 26 Posted July 26 Man, the cost of this set and the lack of details (which are available to them) they should use is infuriating. They should not be charging as much as $1000 for this, I'm not bothered about the number of minfigures they pack in, for that price I'd expect them to be 100% accurate. Hot tub stormie should be an RBG set, that's fun and kitsch, not the most expensive UCS set ever, I think the whole teams lost the plot now. Quote
CF Mitch Posted July 26 Posted July 26 Hilarious to see Hot Tub Stormtrooper, I wonder if there'll actually be a room with a hot tub Lots of other character as well, but, as expected, very little new ones and once again several doubles/triples with Han & Luke in several outfits/movie iterations. Is it me or has the quality of Krennic's minifig gone backwards compared to the Rogue One version? The inclusion of Galen Erso is also fantastic! Regards, Mitch Quote
astroboy75 Posted July 26 Posted July 26 Come on make it leak! Maybe soon as we have the top of the box. Fingers crossed! Quote
CallumPears Posted July 26 Posted July 26 "Mommy I want to be a leaker when I grow up" "Ok son, just make sure to always use a potato camera and for extra points be sure to put a cushion on top of the box and slap your hand in the middle of the photo" So many Stormtroopers kinda feels like a waste of slots- I would've preferred more officers (especially with how much I despise this Stormtrooper design). Though at the same time it might well have been fewer figures in total rather than each one being replaced with something so I guess it's better to have them. Also means fewer figures for me to Bricklink if I don't like the set as a whole. Can see there is indeed another astromech on the bottom right, but can't make out much detail. Can also see a Navy officer on the bottom left. 54 minutes ago, CF Mitch said: Is it me or has the quality of Krennic's minifig gone backwards compared to the Rogue One version? THELEGOBATMAN Posted July 26 Posted July 26 (edited) According to maxbautde, the measurements of the Death Star are: 70 cm (H), 79 cm (L), 27 cm (W). It's not a complete sphere. So... yeah. Lacklustre minifigures and half a Death Star for $1000. Edited July 26 by THELEGOBATMAN Quote

THAT would be worth $1000 with the lackluster features. Quote

Like, if it's an absolutely flawless exterior on one side which can be backed up against a wall to sit flush and fully cover the open interior on the other side it could work. Whether it's worth 1000 is another matter entirely of course. And the minifigures being lacklustre... yeah I definitely agree there. Quote

Actually, the red trunks don't even fit the new game- it looks like they had white trunks with black detailing in those. (But it should have been the classic 30s suit, just saying. It's the funniest option and this figure wouldn't be canonically accurate anyway.) 22 hours ago, Llewop said: Kind of annoyed that they are happy to do hot tub stormtrooper from the Lego games but we are still here waiting for the GOAT rebel friend? Hot Tub Stormtrooper is my favorite thing about the figure lineup, he's not even in the right outfit? Just some red trunks? C'mon, lego, he already wasn't going to be a canonical figure, you can't make him accurate? 6 hours ago, Classic_Spaceman said: “Imperial Dignitary” needs skirt printing, and his being unnamed means that we are only getting one of Palpatine’s advisors (which is a major missed opportunity, as a $1,000 Death Star is the perfect place for a multitude of Glup Shittos); the Royal Guard is woefully outdated now, and in need of a full redesign (new dual-moulded helmet, printed skirt piece) Generally agree with most of what you said but I want to highlight two major points, Palpatine's friend and the royal guard. "Imperial Dignitary": Absolutely agree there needed to be at least two. Whether you just wanted his advisors to show up in a set or still think it's hilarious that lucas has him just go chill with some funny purple hat guys who are never remotely explained and never appear again, the whole thing is that there's MULTIPLE. It's not just one guy. When palpatine goes to crack open some cold ones with the boys, he needs the boys, not just one guy. This set is $1000... Royal Guard: The skirt/robe piece would have been nice, but I have to hard disagree on the helmet. The current one is fine, and I just don't see what the benefit would be to having a dual-molded one. 1 hour ago, Darth_Bane13 said: I like how they still use the same royal guard helmet from 2001, it's pretty much perfect. Yup- there's no reason to change something that's working great already. 22 minutes ago, THELEGOBATMAN said: It's not a complete sphere. Welp, that confirms it for me. 2025 is the worst year for the theme. Half a death star is the most baffling decision I could imagine for this set. It's a grey sphere. That's it. It's such a simple task for $1000, and they can't even do that. I've had a lot of issues with this year's retail offerings but half a death star is the worst design choice this theme has made, maybe ever. I can't imagine this set selling well at all. EDIT: My initial disgusted reaction was assuming this was a table-sitting hemisphere like the Bespin set. It's much more likely this is wall-mounted, which I suppose makes it a little better, but I still hate the design choice. If I was to buy a $1000 death star lego set I want the whole thing, not a big wall art. Edited July 26 by Mandalorianknight Quote
Llewop Posted July 26 Posted July 26 It’s a $1000 diorama. Sounds like it’ll be like Barad Dur half a sphere and the other side is the detailed interior. Don’t know why I care at all who has a spare $1000 for one Lego set. 17 minutes ago, Mandalorianknight said: Who if we want to be accurate to the original game SHOULDN'T HAVE DUAL MOLDED LEGS! Lordhelmet Posted July 26 Posted July 26 I have to say a half a Death Star for $1000 is quite disappointing - if it is awesome (like Mos Eisley x2 I might be happier but my hopes are now super low). Add that to the lack of details on the minifigures. I am starting to wonder what the main selling point is other than there are some specific minifigures locked behind this paywall. I have been excited for a Death Star, now I am wondering if it will be remotely worth bricklinking the 6/8 figures I would really want. I am sure those minifigure prices are going to be crazy though (even without the detail/execution). It really makes me wonder what Lego is trying to do with the theme this year Super detailed minifigure in Kenobi with arm and leg printing, can't bother to do leg printing even on $1000 set minifigures. Strange approach. 40 minutes ago, THELEGOBATMAN said: According to maxbautde, the measurements of the Death Star are: 70 cm (H), 79 cm (L), 27 cm (W). It's not a complete sphere. So... yeah. I realize it's not an HD picture, so maybe in the end it'll be better, but still... I forgot about the Imperial Dignitary, also a very nice inclusion Regards, Mitch Quote

Darth_Bane13 Posted July 26 Posted July 26 Potential hot take here but I would've just preferred a remake of the 2005 death star 2 for around $500, no interior. A giant diorama of scenes just isn't as cool to me. Quote
Lordhelmet Posted July 26 Posted July 26 I am now hoping the gwp does not have any unique minifigures. I think this has gone from a day one buy for me to a wait for a really good deal in the next few years. Hoping the GWP doesn’t have anything unique so I don’t miss out. just read that’s it’s not spherical but a rectangle Quote
