I left those (and the Cobb Vanth set being his BOBF duel) off when posting it to Brick Tap and reddit because they're the only things that I didn't previously hear from other sources. 75440, 75421, 75423 I'm leaning towards legit but I am not fully convinced 75443 is a buildable figure yet.

How does a buildable Grogu work though at a 4+ set level? I’d rather they keep the buildables at 18+ level. I’m sure there are better things and more sellable things a 4+ set could be?

Yeahhhhhh and based on what I've heard I don't see how a buildable fig could fit. Hopefully should have more details to share later once I get clarification from sources.

Edit: Oops, forgot to share the update here. The set is called "Grogu's Homestead", which was the source of my confusion. But despite the name, it is indeed said to be a buildable fig.

The 2026 News Thread is for posting substantiated rumors. All comments on current and future sets should be done here. You can talk about 2026 sets here. I'll make a new thread for 2026 when we get closer to the calendar year. I realize the name of this thread is a little confusing and I'll change that going forward for 2026.

I know 4+ sets are bottom of the barrel but I just can’t envisage the look/scale/ design just so weird it hoping it’s not. 4years olds deserve better lol

I'm happy we're getting a Midi scale Venator as I don't want to spend $650 on the UCS one, plus it will look good next to the invisible hand. Hopefully the $10 playset can become a regular thing again.

Mando's at least a little excusable since it's his movie, though it's still a very bad sign that lego doesn't have the confidence to do a wave of movie sets, and at least half of them appear to be based on earlier mandoverse content.

Except I'm pretty sure it isn't.

The movie's coming out in May, so looking at previous Disney schedules for May releases, we are not getting those sets until April.

The January sets are just appetisers or whatever—which makes it so much more frustrating.

Obey the Rancor.

I hope the midi scale AT-AT is set in a Hoth landscape with a snowspeeder. Like it was done in the past for the GWP but way better

At first I thought an AT-AT was going to be for the film but I’m kind of glad it isn’t and that presumably May and the summer will be Mando films sets. There should be enough sets to cover it.

Going off the last generation of films think Solo got the fewest sets which was 8? (Can’t remember off the top of my head)

let’s just have a little guess maybe an imperial remnant BP of some sort, a set with some bounty hunters and Jabbas son, rebel/new republic set so you can get your Zeb and Sigourney weaver figures in one, there’s presumably the system AT-AT which will be £200 and smaller than the midi scale one :D there is potential, and it’s Disneys first SW film of the decade (a safe one) but still something they are going to throw the kitchen sink at.

still got 10 months til it’s out and IMDb has only got 4 official cast (Sigourney Weaver, Pedro Pascal, Jeremy Allen-White and some guy playing an Imperial Warlord who was in Mando S3) we know Zeb is in it but apart from that not much idea of what it’s going to be like. I think come the new year there is going to be a lot more news about the film and lot more that Disney will do with it.

if TT hadn’t lost the Lego licence I’d have half a hope for a Lego Mando game but that would be too much to hope for.

Was going to mention this as well. I saw a lot of people expecting them to release some M&G stuff in January, but surely waiting until April makes more sense right. And regarding discussion about whether they'll even cover the movie, I think it's all but certain. Mando has gotten new sets more consistently than probably any other subset of Star Wars in the last five years, there's no world where they don't cover an entire movie about them. Even if the movie flops, the sets will probably be fine just based on how popular the characters are, so it's about as risk-free a wave as Lego could ask for.

This January wave almost certainly confirms we will see Mando & Grogu movie sets…if that was ever in doubt anyway!

75436 - based on what I have seen over the years, I think most fans will be happy at the price point more than the set. Business wise this makes complete sense, providing a perfect set for a small child in anticipation of the movie or after watching it.

75448 - a really strange choice this, but I think it will be a striking mech given the likely colour scheme of white and red.

75499 - makes some sense given the Maul show,  but I am more interested to see the 332nd troopers and whether they are new in any way. I’d expect the builds to be a small Mando speeder from the previous Mando BP.

75443 - I’d expect this to be like the small price point Harry Potter sets. Again similar to 75436 this makes complete sense and should sell well presuming they don’t mess it up and overcomplicate it.

75437 - on the surface this makes zero sense, but let’s assume one of Vanth or Bane (if not both) appear in some new media in 2026 - Mando/Grogu movie, Maul show etc. Bane is also relevant due to the excellent episodes of the Tales series. Long over due set, should sell well if the figures are good.

75440 - Nice to see a ground vehicle in the mid-scale range, which I believe is a first. You’d expect it to be planted on some snowy terrain…?

75441 - an inevitability, and should be good. Happy with this choice. Predicted this one.

75442 - let’s hope it’s scaled with the R2-D2, but the price point looks awful. Perhaps there’s something more to this set? Predicted this one.

Not trying to single you out but you are this weeks “why do they make this set and not this set” I get it’s frustrating but like SW is massive and only a finite amount of sets can go on the shelf at once.

You’re not wrong, however it’s hard to swallow the pill that there’s only so much Lego can do to cover the different media when more and more set slots are getting clogged up by buildables and 18+ sets. That’s all.

Genuine question - do you consider the 2024 Star Destroyer as a flagship set?

Along with the Dark Falcon, sure. The priciest / largest summer that isn’t a UCS / buildable figure is typically my metric.

So, 2026 sets:

- Small impulse sets that aren’t gimmicky are a much needed presence in LSW. Mando’s Tatooine speeder bike is a perfect albeit boring choice and it makes me wonder if a small AT-RT is on the cards for TMaG wave.

- Nice to get Cobb and Cad, but again not terribly excited. I did really like the Paz vs. Gideon set so more sets at that price point are welcome.

- Otherwise, yawn. ‘Boring and uninspired’ sums up my thoughts on the wave as a whole. Lovely to see buildable characters infesting 4+ sets now too. Not sure if a buildable BB-8 is more desirable than just getting an actual ST system set but that’s beating a dead horse.

A 212th would have made bit more sense as they are a little harder to come by compared to the rest of the legions atm. I had a feeling when I posted earlier it was going to be a clone but I don’t want to manifest it. I just hope there is something new with the 332nd like a non canon blue pauldron.

So the AT-AT is midiscale which means no figures right? Guessing the razor crest is the rebel set? And the imperial vehicle if it’s not an avenger what else could it be?

curious what the Mando speeder will look like just assumed there would have been a Mando scout walker.

Yeah, exactly. Still would have been annoying, but it would have been something. (Honestly, I wouldn't have minded a Cody or Fox mech. Something with a named character locked behind an expensive set. This is clearly meant as army builder bait, and I despise the idea.)

Aw man, I hadn't considered that the rebel set could be the crest.

The mando speeder arguably should have been an accurately sized scout walker, but I'm just glad to get a non-gimmick set at that price point.

Not necessarily. I assume this is along the same lines as the 6+ simba- a small toy action figure on shelves at the same time as a larger, more adult-focused variant.

Are these all just january? I'd assumed this was all our 1HY.

(Also, I swear we used to get the sets for the new star wars movie in late september/early october, about 2.5 months out from the movie. Later than January would be, for sure, but not just one month out.)

No, your point is absolutely valid. It's perfectly reasonable to be aggravated in lego's set choices, especially when they're this strange, precisely BECAUSE there's limited slots and they can't make everything. Especially in a time when there's so few system sets in the first place, being annoyed when lego makes odd choices for these sets is very understandable.

It’s mixed 2026 having slept on it a bit. The BP is half ok depends on what they are doing with the 332nd. Cobb speeder set looks although don’t get the armour being included as to me he’s just going to look like Boba. Also the Mando speeder sounds interesting in a cheap set especially if someone mentioned the figure being the UCS one. but the fact there are 4 sets under £30 is a big bonus. Feel like the mech should have been either a 212th of a P1 or even a new legion just something we haven’t got a lot of as this point 501st, shock troopers, and shinys are cheap already so the mech isn’t worth much tbh.

Not expecting much from the BB8. Depending on how the midi AT-AT sells can see them doing half dozen more vehicles in the same scale over the next couple of years

hoping for more info soon on the last couple of sets.

The rumour was he’s getting a new razor crest in the film I can’t remember if we just presumed it was going to be made into a set or if it’s going to come later? But I might be wrong could just be a good rebel set and the razor crest will come in may.

im guessing these are all January/March. With all the 18+ ones coming March and everything else January. Lego will probably release a film wave for May the 4th promo. Mando film comes out late May. The hype will be at its peak round then seems perfect to maximise sales. I can’t see the film wave coming April and then having something for May as well. Makes more sense to just throw everything for May.

I find it very annoying that M&G is releasing late May instead of early May since May 4th is literally Mayday bank holiday for us in the UK next year so we would have time to go to the cinema for SW day.

Hopefully M&G is brought forward now that Avengers Doomsday is no longer releasing in early May.

Don’t forget last Monday of May is also bank holiday in May mate so it is actually releasing on a bank holiday weekend just the wrong one.

also how long has May the 4th been properly celebrated? I think it’s more and more popular than it used to be so back when they did Solo wave in April it wasn’t like what it would be now?

Keeping with tradition, the movie wave should hit in either March or April. If it’s March, there will likely still be a May wave too (or at least our yearly 1HY D2C set!). If it’s April instead, they’re not gonna release 3 waves in 3 months, so in that case there wouldn’t be a March one :shrug_oh_well:

Either way, there will surely be more to come. For instance, there are no helmet sets in the list here and I’m certain they didn’t bring the subtheme back just for two sets!

I still think the movie wave will be save for May the 4th. With the helmets how many more do we need? They’ve covered all the good ones unless you’re wanting every clone legion and commander. We’ve got 2 18+ sets coming which would have probs been the march wave in a normal year

We did get two 18+ sets this past January, the midi-scale acclamator and Home one.

To be fair, all the 18+ gimmick lines flit about erratically. The dioramas appear to be gone, for instance, and we're now introducing the busts, which cover a very similar niche as the helmets.

I completely forgot about them tbh. But 100% agree the busts are the new helmets and the midi AT-AT will take over from midi ships

This makes it worth it. This. Right now. Being with you, being here at the moment you step into the circle. Look at me. You made this decision long ago. The Clone Bros cannot win. You'll never feel right unless you're doing what you can to stop them. You're coming home to yourself. You've become more than your fear. Let that protect you.

(I would have used Jyn’s ‘until the chances are spent’ but I already did)
(Tie Avenger posting Day #82)

So now we have 2 very hype sets which no one knows exactly what they are aside from their faction.

75421: $70 TBA Empire set

75423 $100 TBA Rebellion set

Now. We all know that 75421 could be one of a number of desirable things: Patrol gunship, Tie Avenger, Tie Defender, ITT, Endor Bunker…. But 75423 has an even more obscure pricepoint which likely makes it either an overpriced starfighter or something else. My current theory is that it’s a Defence of Hoth remake.
