Felkin Posted April 20 Posted April 20 The HP logo would be great, maybe with some clouds to fill the gaps between the letters (like the black greebling on the Star Wars logo) to give it a solid base to rest on. Quote

Maybe 76464 the rumored 12+ set. I think the Harry Potter logo done smoothly like the Star Wars logo would make a collection centerpiece or just a casual fan buy as much as the Star Wars one does. Granted, the letter configuration with the jagged and uneven bottom to the letters doesn't make it as easy to make a standing logo as the Star Wars one, but I feel like Lego would find a way. The SW buildable logo set was a 18+ set. If it was that or another micro scale set, I’m indifferent. Marvel was 12+ and I’d be disappointed with a play set being replaced by that. They migh want to see how the Marvel and Star Wars ones are doing before expanding this to different themes. If it isn´t doing well for Star Wars with a huge Adult Fan base, then they won´t make one for Harry Potter given it has less Adult collectors. If it is doing well however, I could see them doing it, but probably not next year and if then surely in the summer wave and not the winter one. Quote
Tariq j Posted April 20 Posted April 20 I could see them doing something like this. So just the "H" and the "P" rather than the whole logo. But yeah, I would be a fan of a logo set. Quote
strangely Posted April 21 Posted April 21 (edited) Fluffy just leaked, the new molds are surprising, i really expected them to at least reuse the head from the 2021 version, it's shocking to see a new head mold and a new body mould. And despite the new molds, there's still a brick built portion. It's like a weird combo of the first two versions. I definitely like this one the best of the three, they even managed to include a collar. This makes me really excited to see the rest of the tower. Edit: someone on reddit mentioned the mouths opening. Looking at the image closer, it does seem possible, but I can't tell for certain. Edited April 21 by strangely Quote

It basically looks like someone got three large dogs to stand one behind the other. It's weird that the legs are no longer black - did the budget not cover dual-molding? EDIT: Someone on Reddit said that it looks like DUPLO, someone else said that it looked more like a bear than a dog. They're not wrong IMO - the shape of both the body and the heads, as well as the eyes, do remind me of DUPLO bears a bit. Both the 2021 and 2001 versions just looked a lot leaner and less cuddly. Gorilla94 Posted April 21 Posted April 21 Meh... I painted eyes, nose and teeth at the original first one. Looks in my opinion much superior to the new one. Without the custom paintjob they are about on the same level. I hope, he becomes popular, so I can sell mine when getting the set. Quote
Agent Kallus Posted April 21 Posted April 21 I hope the heads appear on pick a brick as I have no interest in the set or theme but the head part gives me an idea for a Scylla figure. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted April 21 Posted April 21 The new Fluffy is by far my favourite out of the three! Yeah, the legs not being black is strange, but the moulded piece itself looks great! Quote

Those persons probably never had a duplo animal then, because duplo animals are always very rounded, while the Fluffy mould is way more blocky, like all bigger Lego animals - the only thing really similar to duplo would be the size. 56 minutes ago, BrickBob Studpants said: The new Fluffy is by far my favourite out of the three! To me it looks great as it is. Quote

This version of Fluffy looks way more rounded than the previous ones. We do have DUPLO bears (the ones I linked above) and I can see why someone would think that. Quote
Jaromir Posted April 21 Posted April 21 Where can I find photos of fluffy? Can you share Instagram profile name, please? Quote

If someone would compare duplo with friends animals, I could agree, but not with the fluffy mould ;). Just now, Jaromir said: Where can I find photos of fluffy? Jaromir Posted April 21 Posted April 21 @Black Falconthank you, got it. I don't know if I like it or not haha. I don't like the fact it utilizes the normal bricks. Quote
brickbride Posted April 22 Posted April 22 That's my favourite, too. The 2021 version was straight-up ugly what with the light gray joints, and the new one looks too cuddly for me. Besides, with the 2001 version you can take off the upper parts of the heads and replace them with crocodile heads. ;-) Quote
BacktoBricks Posted April 22 Posted April 22 The new Fluffy looks a bit dopey in the picture to me, but it's one angle so I'm not going to judge it until I've seen more photos and probably it in person. Whilst the last Fluffy was pretty good with the molded heads, the combination of brick built and molds didn't work for me with the light grey joints showing. I much prefer this new almost complete mold for Fluffy, despite the obvious irony that Lego is by nature meant to be a brick built system. The original Fluffy still holds up extremely well though in my opinion and is probably one of my favorite elements from the original sets. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted April 22 Posted April 22 The 2001 Fluffy was cool for its time and aged better than the sock puppet Basilisk, but I still prefer both of the other versions The dog breed seems inaccurate with its pointy ears and the lack of prints wouldn‘t work nowadays either Quote
Black Falcon Posted April 22 Posted April 22 I was never really a fan of the brick built version, but the first version looks really dated nowadays. The new version just looks so much better to me, I think the bulkier body fits better with the three heads and overall size, the old version looks actually quite small compared to it - and I also do think it fits better compared to a minifig (though of course the real fluffy would still be bigger compared to the kids) Overall I would say however, that the body mould wasn´t done with just the dog in mind, and could surely also be used for other creatures, so I do wonder for what else they could use it. Personally I wish that mould would have been avaiable sooner, because I do think it would have been great for the owlbear in the D&D set. 5 hours ago, BrickBob Studpants said: The 2001 Fluffy was cool for its time and aged better than the sock puppet Basilisk, but I still prefer both of the other versions The dog breed seems inaccurate with its pointy ears and the lack of prints wouldn‘t work nowadays either Yeah, the first version didn´t really look much like fluffy especially the head. I think the new version suits him much better. Quote
Lion King Posted April 23 Posted April 23 I love the original Fluffy mold. I still prefer molded creatures over buildable ones. Quote
Huigberts Builds Posted April 23 Posted April 23 The new Fluffy looks pretty good, but the original one just has a spot in my heart that's hard to replace. If the new one can open their mouths (which I highly doubt) that would be the deciding factor for me which of the 2 I prefer. At the very least miles better than the brickbuild one with the stupid eyes. The idea was fun, but only for a very specific angle. You would've needed to buy 3 of them to make a regular one, which I a shame. No, this is way, and way better. Quote

Agreed! The usefulness was ultimately limited, but it was still a very creative solution. The new one can’t actually lie down anyway, so going with all three heads always being awake is appropriate Quote
chris6507 Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Does anyone else feel a sense of de ja vu with this current "most accurate hogwarts ever"? I was building Flying Lesson and the Levitation Class set today and as I was building all those little slide out rooms and the external walls that contained them, I started to feel the exact problem I had with the 2021 itteration of Hogwarts. It feel like building the same thing over and over again. And it's starts to not feel fun. Feels like they've again painted themselves into a corner with "boxes" again! Really takes away from the excitement and wonder of what you're currently building when it's the same model over and over! I am just very glad they've put a little more effort into the external details, so at least they look pretty good on the outside. Funny thing is, it's not just the boxes, Flying Lesson feels exactly like Sirius Escape from the last series. It's that set you buy with no interesting minifigures, that you simply bought as a part of the castle that you built because you had to, not because you want to! Lol. I haven't been on here for a while, can anyone sum up the general consensus on how people feel about these current sets? Wondering if i'm on the same page as others or if y'all are loving it? I think it looks good, just not "enjoying" the build too much! Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted April 23 Posted April 23 A drawing of the Fawkes set leaked! The set also includes baby Fawkes, the sorting hat, and the sword of Gryffindor I guess we’ve now seen some sort of leak for all of the June sets besides the Thestral one! Quote
