Yeah it is a shame that the official images Don't show it next to any other modulars. I can understand why seeing as they're from seperate themes and licenses but nevertheless it would've been good for them to show off the connectivity.

May be because it the first Modular building in the DC series, thats why. If there is another one on the future, they maybe will show them next to each other. I noticed in the pictures, that there is connector pins at 3 of the sides, which is interesting.

This Arkham feels so small, particularly in terms of height. It lacks the imposing stature I would expect. It feels like it was shrunk in the wash, along with the X-Mansion. Both sets really need a third level.

Those teases with clay face and then including batwing, bat woman, penguin and cat woman is cruel. Take those 4 out and give us clayface. I think the main reason they didn’t is because it would require a new mould which is so lazy.

this definitely looks like 2 can easily be put together to give 4 levels and a roof which won’t look so squished, plus gives you 12 cells which is much better

100% Genuine New Tires on the van wheels! Now that should make a lot of MOCs even more realistic!

Tires looks a bit thin imo.

Also, seems its supposed to be a corner modular, and a inversed corner at the same time.

Weird

Clayface could have reused the VIDIYO slime headgear piece (most recently used for Z-Blob in Dreamzzz), if the part is still in production, so I am not sure why he was not included. That said, excluding Clayface is probably the least confusing and/or lazy Minifig decision in this set - Batwoman should have had dual-moulded legs, Batwing is an odd character to include, Damian should have darker skin, Bane and Killer Croc should have been shirtless, and leg printing for the jumpsuits is an unnecessary waste of a ‘change’. 🫤

I think Penguin’s monocle is on the wrong side. *huh*

You’re right! *huh* There are a few versions that have the monocle on the left eye, but it’s usually on the right! Interesting choice

I agree with all of this!
I'm also rather disappointed with the cells. I thought they were gonna be 'themed' to their occupants (icicles in Mr. Freeze's, graffiti in the Joker's, a Joker picture in Harley Quinn's, etc.), but I only noticed some flowers in the walls in Poison Ivy's cell.

I agree with the general sentiment that this is a very strange and poorly allocated minifigure list, but I will say a few things-

Damian's skin tone varies based on the specific source, but in most of the mainline comics I've seen and the animated films, light nougat makes sense for his head color.

I can understand the sentiment behind wanting Bane and Croc-especially Croc- to have unique torsos, but given how little budget the theme gets I don't begrudge them saving a bit there to use elsewhere- just that they really shouldn't have used it where they did. Did we really need to spend a new mold slot on resurrecting the Batwoman cowl? Is she that essential to this set?

Not just a mold, but also head and torso prints and a big cape. Maybe it's about trying to have a female hero in a set that's already more male-dominant, but I would have much rather had Batwoman's budget go towards Clayface - maybe even make Penguin a girl if we're getting a new mold and you want to keep the current gender ratio.

And as far as the poll goes, I voted for the 2012 version - yes, it's aged a bit, but considering the time it came out and the part count, it's got a pretty good scale and had a decent diversity with the rooms and figures.

Would have voted for the LBM one if it disnt had that snowy roofs.

The white clash so much with the rest.

Tangentially related but I love how they did a set with Batman and the entire Al Ghul family and Bruce is the only one with any melanin 27095201970_6ca4dd7109_h.jpg

Like you say, there are better options. There are a number of female members of the bat-family we haven't gotten at all yet, and it's not like Batwoman (or batwing for that matter) are super iconic DC heroes. It could have (should have) been Spoiler or Orphan, and then you save a mold for Clayface.

Fantastic 4 will hit it hard next weekend

Well, it seems Fantastic 4 will hit it even harder than expected and Superman will be the loser of the July box office showdown

Maybe TLG was right (sadly)...

You know that multiple movies can be successful, right?

We all knew the dinosaurs would win in the end, but both Superman and Fantastic Four are doing great numbers overall. F4 is estimated to open with $125M domestically—same as Superman (although it might do a bit better internationally, even though it's doing even worse in Asia than Superman).

Hard to say anything without knowing next week's numbers, to see the drops for F4, and how well Superman does afterwards.

Not really. They‘ve made sets for movies that were obviously never gonna be as successful as Supes (and didn‘t have to be, due to lower budgets), and Supes is performing well. Probably not well enough to warrant sets later on, but still

True, though his skin is typically lighter when he has the red/green suit, and darker in his grey/black suit depictions (from what I have seen, at least) - The existing Damian Wayne Minifigs are actually fine skin tone-wise, but grey/black Damian should definitely have had darker skin.

Cassandra Cain (as Orphan) would only require a new torso print (as leg or arm printing is unrealistic, sadly), and could reuse Sabine Wren’s head. 🫤

I’m gonna need Lego to lock in once Gunn decides to green light a GLC: War of Light trilogy. And JLI.

I haven't seen much of him in the grey/black suit, so I'll take your word for it. I just knew in the main universe comics I'd read and in the DCAU light nougat worked for his skin tone. I think I've seen him in a darker tone in the bat-family webcomic? (Darker skin tone. Definitely not darker thematic tone. I don't think I remember a single fight scene in anything I read from that, obviously it's not that type of comic.)

Yup- she's probably one of the cheapest bat-family members print-wise that you could actually do well.

I still don't get why people were acting like this was a real possibility, it was never going to do NWH numbers.

And it doesn't have to for people to like it- I understand people want it to be more successful than it is, but the box office shouldn't impact your perception on the quality of the movie. My two favorite movies of the last five years or so (Thunderbolts and Transformers One) both almost certainly lost money at the box office. TFONE literally caused one of the companies producing it to completely give up on the brand as a whole. I still think they're a million times better than Souperman or Black Widow: Savage Land or whatever movie ends up winning this July (It'll be the dinosaur movie.)
