We did also get a description for 71859, the dragon is nature themed with tree branches for horns, and leaves on the wings. Includes 8 minifigures: Dragon Cole, Lloyd, Green villain, Hooded villain, Purple Snake, Sora, Zane, and Arin.

Based on the figures, (Cole, Lloyd, green villain, hooded villain), it sounds like that's the set that had the minifig images leak a while ago that I just mentioned, so we know there's some stuff about it out there already, so I guess it makes sense that that's the one we're getting a description of first.

71861 The Old Town I think could be that J village(I don't know how to spell it) where the ninja first fought against the Hypnobrai.

My thoughts exactly, Jamanakai village seems like a great recurring location to make as an anniversary set, and it definitely fits the "old town" description.

This sounds like a great list, even if it’s once again very ninja vehicle-heavy. An armored Riyu is a great way to keep Riyu relevant without starting to feel too overdone. Hopefully he’s also a bit bigger, maybe with a new head. Of course the Dragon of Life is very exciting too. I wonder how it’ll stack up against the existing source dragon? I’m guessing around 2/3 of the size, given this is a January wave.

I’m a big fan of the dragon ninja, but I’m also worried the suits will be limited to the OGs. It would be awesome to get the new cast in such a unique style, especially since we had the Crystalized dragon ninja relatively recently. It’s also a bit odd that none of the set names contain any reference to the new cast outside of Riyu. I wonder if they’re not testing as well with kids? The villains are interesting too, especially since they’re so distinct from one another. It’s giving MotM. I wonder if the monster forces are united, and if so who’s leading them. It’ll also be interesting to see how they’re handled in the summer wave without an obvious color palette swap like we’ve seen the last two years.

Calling it now, “dragon Zane” is going to be brick-built, not unlike the Zane we got in this year’s combo mech. It would actually be pretty cool to one day get all of the ninja as fully brick-built dragons.

The anniversary sets are a lot more intriguing. The blacksmith shop is a great choice, as it’s only ever been done once in 2011 and is the first scene of the whole franchise. I would love to see Samukai but something tells me that’s unlikely. Maybe just a generic skulkin would suffice. As for “The Old Town,” I have no idea, unless it’s a Ninjago City expansion. Considering it doesn’t follow the NC naming conventions, this would surprise me. But something like Jamanakai village feels so unlikely. Ninja Anniversary Display is a very generic name. Maybe something like a buildable logo? Golden weapons? Lloyd’s head wrap in the “helmet” style? None of those would interest me much.

Finally, it’ll be fun to speculate about the anniversary figures. What’s everyone thinking?

Sounds like another amazing Ninjago wave.

Very glad to hear that they're continuing the January battle packs, this time with Kai's mech.

Another Riyu is welcome, and it's also interesting that Jay isn't Rogue anymore. Wonder if he'll start getting the same suits as the other ninja again?

Rally curious to see how the tree house works, and the Dragon of Life will probably be majestic.

The anniversary sets sound amazing too. A Golden Weapons forge is an amazing choice, and I do wonder how the Ninja anniversary display set will look.

New wave sounds great so far. The treehouse set is the most interesting one for me it of Dragons Rising wave. Surprised Source Dragon of Life is so much smaller than Motion in terms is pieces (the build sounds cool though). And Serpentine return again? Hopefully the snake minifigs are good since recent snakes were weird with reusing Pyro Whipper heads.

As for Anniversary sets Kai’s Blacksmith shop would be a must buy for me! Hopefully Lego don’t cheap out and give us new Samukai minifig this time(looking at you Day of the Departed wave). Also it’s possible Old town sets is Ucs Monastery of Spinjitsu? If there’s ever been a good time for this set it’s now!

New wave sounds pretty interesting. Most curious to see the anniversary sets and the new source dragon, hopefully they're all good.

It’s definitely a cool looking piece. Even though I’m once again frustrated to see a lack of eye printing, I’m glad it fits in with the design of the recent serpentine factions without being too repetitive. Hoping for snake tails to match these ones. Fateful did say “Serpentine Generals” which I feel like implies tails.

New serpentine head looks good, could it be aquatic maybe? Once again the only issue is Lego refusing to paint eyes. Like why is it they refuse to do so since 2019? Like eye prints add so much to snakes character! Original serpentine molds are still superior to newer ones in my book.

I think the lack of printed eyes is perfectly fine on a part like this where the eye part is done is a translucent plastic, the problem is when they recolour it into an opaque colour like with the pyro whipper head.

I guess it's a matter of preference. It didn't work with Aspheera for me as her animated version had "printed" eyes which made her character more articulate (revenge! and all that). But I agree that not printing opaque eyes is even worse like with Frak figure

I’ve been thinking about the anniversary minifigs, and here are my leading thoughts:

Option 1: Some sort of metallic figs again. Maybe additional golden characters (although I admit that I can’t think of any beyond Garmadon, PIXAL, and maybe Pythor) or silver versions of the 6 ninja. I’d also like gold versions of iconic villains in general.

Option 2: 2011 throwback minifigs, a la Star Wars 2019. It seems likely these will at least appear in the blacksmith shop, but I wouldn’t be very excited by a full line-up.

Option 3: Missing characters or variants from the show. Star Wars did this recently, but they have many more characters to draw from. I’m not sure if kids would be super excited about Dr. Julien or Zane wearing an apron.

Option 4: Missing variants of each ninja (as in, suits that exist in the flesh for other characters). Think ZX Nya, 2011 Lloyd, Prime Empire Zane, etc. I don’t see this as a realistic option, especially since they’d have to pull out a pretty obscure suit for Kai, such as Legacy 3 or the future gi from Possession. I think fans would love this, I just don’t see them bringing back old parts just for this kind of lineup.

What do y'all think? Do any of these feel at all likely? What am I missing?

New Samukai. (Also Ninjago Legends is out)

Monstrosity was incredible! Beautifully animated, dark theming, creepy designs, violent, fantastic action, etc. I. Need. More. Of. This! It was only 15 minutes but I feel like we got a lot in that short time. I would be very happy if this became an annual or even biannual series.

There are small descriptions for some of the 2026 sets, I've only seen it from Ridexninjagoleaks on instagram, so I'm not sure if they are real. But the leaked sets list had information on these exact sets, so they might be real.

71855  - Riyu has golden horns, and armor. includes Arin, Dragon Sora, Vine Monster.

71866 Anniversary display $50 378pcs - includes 4 displays for Kai, Cole, Jay, and Zane with their golden weapons. Golden Jay is included.

71858 Blacksmith shop $100 884pcs -  minifigures: Zane, Cole, Jay, Kai, Nya and Wu, plus golden Kai (inspired by his original suit)

71851 Kai's mech battle pack $10 - The mech has wings, includes Kai, Tentacle Monster, and Sand villain. There's also a small red dragon included.

It's great that not only the original ninja get dragon forms, and that makes the Riyu set more interesting to me, as this version of Sora will most likely be exclusive there.

I'm not really a fan of the Anniversary minifigures being just Golden version of the ninja again, but that makes me question on how will they be done this time. It would be great if this time around they would have the same type of suits, and not each ninja getting a suit based on a different season. I also see it maybe being like before, but this time the suits will be based on seasons 1-7

The anniversary display sounds great with 5 minifigures(which I think will be exclusive) for $50, but it also has a price per part of a Marvel set.

@mantax Looks like Lego Minecraft goat has debunked those rumours.

I get what you're saying but yeah we both agree that it looks pretty terrible on the opaque.

On the topic of this head, it has some aquatic vibes to me with the fins and spines.

Lego Minecraft goat has posted the part counts.

I mean they're just numbers so they don't really tell us much but it seems like the Old town set will be very big at 4851 parts.

Is the Old Town set an expansion to Ninjago City? Do we know that yet?

We don’t have any details for the set other than the supposed name and piece count. The latter points towards a city expansion, but the name doesn’t follow the conventions we’re used to. It could be preliminary and actually called Ninjago City Old Town or something like that. Or it could be a standalone set similar to Tournament Temple City.

Tabjs, good point. Hadn't clocked that.
