  1. I did too. The rowlett looked great too, but lots of pieces. I imagine it'll be the gyrados if it goes solely off fan votes. I'm hoping they'll do a promo card of the set too. Though that would bring the scalpers.
  2. That Arcanine looks great. Hope it holds up at other angles.
  3. Thanks for your reply. Smyths used to do good discounts on big Lego sets but they seem to have dried up. I remember getting Ninjago city for 25% off! I got 25% off Tudor Corner from Argos too recently. I wonder why the NHM is exclusive to Smyths? I'll probably do the same as you, just wait for double VIP points and a decent GWP. I'm half tempted to wait and see if it's in the Black Friday discounts as the sets nearing their end of life often are. But then that runs the risk of missing it all together....
  4. Has anyone seen a UK discount on the Natural History Museum before? I can't recall one. I know it retires this year so just planning the best time to pick it up
  5. Looking forward to seeing the entries. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up making a tcg card based on the set
  6. £146 off the big Charizard/venusaur/blastoise set on Amazon already. Feels like a more reasonable price. Be interesting how much and how often these are discounted
  7. Yeah I dont like any of them. My wallet is relieved
  8. Sounds good, looking forward to seeing this one. Must be pretty big for that price, and to fit a scene in.
  9. Saw these figures on bricklink so looks like they went past 150,000 sales. 42,000 / 42,000 / Alchemist’s Shop 40,000 / 40,000 / Sushi Restaurant 40,000 / 40,000 / Privateer Frigate Fortuna 16,174 / 30,000 / W.A.L.T. 14,057 / 30,000 / Antique Collection TOTAL Units Sold = 152,231 I was tempted by the sushi restaurant but didn't pull the trigger. If fomo kicks in I'll get it on ebay. From what I've seen most of the BDP sets don't seem to increase massively on the aftermarket.
  10. looks like Sushi, Alchemist and Fortuna have sold out, in the UK at least
  11. Looks like the funded bars have gone this time. All but the antique collection just say funded 30 minutes in. I'm most tempted by the sushi restaurant, but think I'll skip all of them this time around. Not enough space and can't justify the spend.
  12. I'm on the fence with it. I want to love it as the book is so good, but I'm not a fan of the scale, especially in relation to the huge stand
  13. I'll be the first one to say I'm not a huge fan. I think it's too white so the outside looks monotonous. I like the figs and the throne room at the back but the view from the front isn't doing it for me. I love the books and films of LOTR but have held off from the Lego sets. Now seeing this, I'll pick up Rivendell and not worry about 'completing' by getting the others. I don't think they'll display that well all together.
  14. Its on reddit, if you search Lego Minas Tirith, or join R/Legoleak it's on there
  15. The difference is when the pre order came back for a second time, the GWP wasn't available. The numbers of available GWPs was in the T&Cs so I think it's likely they sold that many sets (over 32 million dollars in about 12 hours!). Then the second preorder round was presumably a bit of extra stock. I suppose it's the GWP that went out of stock, rather than the set itself. Preorder is unavailable again, at least in the UK Yeah, Jang discussed that in his video. This was the Brickset comment that he referenced which seemed pretty spot on:
