2025 Castle [wishlist/speculation]

Not what I was expecting for either faction but both look great. I'm actually considering getting the whole set, it's a fun idea and the fig count is more generous than we can expect these days.

Those Griffins look sick! 

The faction I voted for. 

They use the Hylian shield from the Zelda set. Wow! It looks better than I could imagine.

I really hope all those minifigs go on Pab. If not I will be really mad at Lego and might completely stop the hobby. 

The Krakens look cool too with their Viking helmets. 

Also love the pirate girl torso! 

She looks like a captain. 

There will be cool castle submissions in the near future with BDP. 

BDP has become my favourite Lego theme. Lol. 

I think I might also buy the Gumball machine itself. I have €70 insider points and the designer lives in a town a few kilometers from me. I feel the need to support him.

Love the look of both factions! Can't wait for the parts to be added to Pick a Brick - I'll want a couple of each for sure. I'll probably grab a space man of each color as well, and maybe a few other of the new torsos.

Won't buy it, but the castle figures are the best from the whole lot.

Griffin knights: great shields, very versatile armor, terrible helmets

Kraken knights: interesting, great helmets

Can't recognize what brown weapon the kraken fighter holds in his hand though.

Time to build the 4x creator castle moc from rebrickable for my Griffin Knights so they will have a home. Defenitely need some army building to populate the castle.

Really great looking figures. I may get the set because I really liked the concept in general. Will absolutely get more of the minifigures.

Like the viking vibe for the Kraken knights, can easily swap the helmets to make them more of a traditional castle if desired or use them with other viking sets. Shield, torso, and leg printing is great.

I voted for Kraken but Griffin gave off the most classic castle look. Really pleased with their torso. To me, it looks like an updated scale mail armor used a lot with the Black Knights but also throughout other castle themes. If the Sea Serpent remake wins that vote, I could see this torso being used (though I’d love to see a Black Knight torso with their emblem on it). I like that they are using a variety of shields types to make factions more unique.

Pirate torsos are also really good. Nice to see the Paradisa figures too. My sister had a bunch of these sets growing up, but I currently have them. 
 

I would’ve liked to have seen another theme represented, but I’m glad to have such a variety of new figures coming that should be available on PAB eventually and usable on future BDP sets.

These are essentially my thoughts. Though I'd would downgrade Kraken's "interesting" to "just plain ugly".

This will be a PAB order rather than a set purchase. One of each spaceman. Maybe one Kraken for completion's sake? And many many Griffon armor sets. I don't see me starting a Griffon faction, but both Torso and legs can fill many uses.

IIRC, the designer of an Ideas set also receives a (small) number of 'his' sets from LEGO. If so, and if you know him, it may be a way to support him directly when you buy one of him in person?

I like the set and the Griffins look great, krakens somewhat odd, Pirates OK, the rest of the fig not interesting to me. To bad the ravens were not included, hopefully they will come in a future set

What's odd and ugly about the Kraken Knights? I am surely going to change the helmet - then they are perfect!

Once they show up at PAB after many months of waiting and scalpers clearing the first batch and after a couple more months of waiting I'll pick them up when they are in stock again. I am sure they'll show up at PAB (fingers crossed!). Lego will earn more with both knights at PAB than from selling the prize machine set

I am already thinking about mocs. Surely the kraken Knights will live near the sea and maybe also along the eastuaries of big rivers.

I’m thinking the same thing.

 I really don’t like the face shroud / Viking helmet combo. Looks plain weird.

Yep. My guess is, that they simply wanted to try something new - without a new helmet mold.

The torsos are entirely redeemable. 
 And maybe the face masks without helmets? These would look incredible with the cylindrical style helmets.

 That said the griffin knights look amazing.

Both factions look great in my opinion.  The pirates looks nice too.  I will definitely be getting multiples when they show up on PAB.  Can't wait to see what people do on BDP with these factions.

Nice figs indeed. The pirates looks good, I prefere the one with stripes on shirt rather them she-captain, but both of them are great. 
 

The main treat for me are Griphon and Kraken knights/soldiers. The griphon one worh scale mail has belt printed on torso rather then legs so it is higly customizable. It looks like grey or silver torso, so any colour of legs and arms would fit nicely. I guess that the torso will be reused possibly in favour of black knights (if Lego decides to make them). 
 

Kraken soldiers looks pretty good too. Copper viking helmet is nice to get, but I will probably swap them for more traditional ´castle” ones… 

While I kinda like both shields, I still prefere classic teiangular one. This “Zelda shield” is too cartoony for my taste (in real life it is impractical as hell)…

I like both the Krakens and Griffins. But I think the combo of that helmet plus the bandana mask/ gaiter looks a bit 'different'.

If you look at the Krakens without those two (helmet + gaiter) combined, I think the printing is absolutely awesome! And also, can you just imagine the lore that will follow suit from these minifigs?

It is the missing link between the Vikings and Castle... just like how Rollo went to the land that is now France, switched religions and became a king!  (Sorry, I watched too much Vikings on streaming. )

Just a few days ago, I saw some blogs and reddit posts about people collating existing Rebrickable and BDP MOCs that are the most appropriate headquarters for some of the more common factions.

That would be interesting.  I can see the seaside castles for the Kraken Knights in my head now.  I actually have some Ideas of my own now that we have official Images.  I will have to see if I have the pieces I need to make some nice builds for these new factions.

Yeah I saw this post.  It's interesting but now that we have images there will be some interesting color choices I think that will be used in upcoming castles.  Yeah I think Dustmark Keep has the best chance and the island castle and eastern alliance have solid shots but only one castle will get through this round I believe.

Was voting still open when the Horse and Snake knights were revealed?

Since Kraken and Griffins just recently leaked, just imagine how it could have influenced the vote!!!

I like both the Griffins and Kraken. Initially, the Griffins are easier to like at first glance because they look typical castle. But I am really liking the Krakens more and more because of the lore potential and the uniqueness of their premise.

A worthy successor to the viking torso, but the dark red belt will be visible.

Voting closed for the BDP series 8 yesterday.  I don't think these reveals will sway the vote one way or another but we will see when they announce the winners.

It looks copper not reddish brown.
