While I could absolutely see more Ashoka sets coming, I don't know that expecting too much is wise. Lego probably is going to want to cover Mandalorian S3 too, and even if there aren't a lot of new shows coming up, there are always going to be a practically infinite number of things they can draw on the films for. Maybe I am just being pessimistic though, getting some more large sets would be great.

@cosmic: That‘s Ahsoka, not some random Togruta pilot  Despite knowing some of the characters, I suppose you haven‘t seen Rebels? Lemme put it this way: there is a good reason Kanan is not featured in that set

So I was still young when Clone Wars ended and Rebels began. I felt the animation style and quality was a dip from CW, and couldn't get past the first season or two. I heard it picked up steam but I never got around to finishing it. I did end up growing nostalgic for and generally falling in love with the designs of some of the characters though. Namely Sabine, Hera and Zebbs designs. I ended up wishing I bought the OG Ghost and the 2nd Phantom with Thrawn. Since neither have reappeared I actually think I will dedicate some savings to getting those eventually. But yeah despite not having some figures I missed out on these new sets are perfect one of the best waves not just recently but for the theme in general. Strong summer wave. Thank you for not spoiling any details about his outcome outright by the way.

As for Ahsoka yes haha I knew it was her hence my notion she's a character we have so many variants of. With all these Togruta moulds in production Lego should have taken advantage and included Shaak Ti in one of the recent Episode 2 sets. Imagine the AT-TE but with Shaak Ti bearing the long tails Ahsoka had in the 2020 sets. I hope Lego takes advantage of all the moulds we have in circulation and produce her!! I know the prequels get a lot of flack but they are my personal favorite trilogy and while I can understand how some fans may say the original trilogy is the best, I stand firm in that the prequels produce the best sets. Episode 2 based sets have always been my personal favorite. Inclusion of various Jedi is a prime reason for this. I'd be so excited to see her. Ki Adits Mundi generated a similar sense of excitement for me as well.

I just finished building Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Jedi Starfighter set. Although I hate applying stickers, I still love this set! I still have the old set fro early 2000s - I mean, Obi-WAN’s Jedi starfighter is my favorite spaceship from Star Wars movie along with my favorite character (Obi-Wan). The old set has no stickers…

Has the Venator GWP already been mentioned? Its a black box with a republican credit metal replica and two fabric patches showing Yularen and Rex. Promobricks has the picture.

Well now I know I won't be buying it on day one. Picked up a few rep credits on my last visit to Batuu and fabric patches ain't Lego. Plus I'm waiting to see some decent mods to get the central landing bay integrated in the model, it's what makes the Venator so unique!

Sure, but we also expected a darktrooper BP in 1HY 2021, and instead we got a singular trooper in 2HY and then a set based on the hallway scene in 2022.

While a BP would certainly be preferable, a larger set with Gideon, 2 beskar troopers and at least one praetorian guard would also be excellent. Maybe even with an updated Paz Vizsla! Fingers crossed for something like that in 2HY 2024 :excited:

And as this year has proven, 2HY BPs are still a thing, so this wasn‘t our last chance for that. Same goes for you-know-who from Ahsoka :sweet:

2HY for the Night Troopers, then?

With how sparingly Lego seems with playsets these days, my guess is there will be only 2 of these sets, at least in short term?  My guess would be no battlepack so to boost sales of the Chimaera? I hope to be wrong though! The show may not be perfect, but design-wise it's some of the most interesting Star Wars content so far.

I just hope a Chimaera doesn't cannibalize the set slot for a Fondor Haul Craft :pir-cry_happy:

My point was there is no 1HY beskar troopers battle pack scheduled for 2024, I just meant that we don't always get what seems like an obvious set choice.

I don't see how the battlepack would hurt sales of the chimera. I don't think anyone would be buying the chimera solely for the

Yup I agree, I can definitely see the Chimaera being approached in a similar way to Gideon’s Cruiser in that it contains a suite of ‘big’ named characters and perhaps 1-2 of the army builder troopers.

If the Chimaera does happen, it’ll be the first system-scale Star Destroyer that’ll require a fully fleshed out underside just to host the chimaera pattern, curious to see how Lego would tackle that if they do indeed make it.

Also @BrickBob Studpants I’m salivating at the idea of a location-based set based on the Mando S3 finale with all those characters! As much as I didn’t love the season, that’s a set I’d buy on day 1.

Shame we have to wait a year before the really good stuff will come out - really that’s my only contention with the cadence of Lego Star Wars releases in this day and age.

wild 2024 speculation in comming

Hot take: the Kelleran Beq set will have 3 501st troopers since the shock and regular P2’s are in the 30$ army builder set

hotake2: LEGO will release a movie Gunship in classic color scheme either in 2024 or in 2025 my proof is that in 2015 LEGO released poes x wing and like 7 months after they released the resistance X wing could be the same case here.

final hot take: we are not getting the skeleton crew set next year because the show has been delayed to 2025 (from what I’ve seen) and it will be replaced by another set

i have no sources to back this info but I’m very confident

This seems pretty likely IMO. Since the show's been pushed back (and possibly the Acolyte as well), they might have to slot in another set.

I think there might be 2. I could see this being a smaller set unless there's evidence otherwise.

That doesn‘t make any sense. Why would it be delayed for more than a year? Also, that would mean there are no new shows in 2024

Bad batch S3?, I watched the panel at celebration. I very hope it's 2024, I mean S2 did get delayed all the way from may to January.

I can definitely see it getting delayed, but I don't know if they'll've anything ready to replace it.

I meant live-action shows

Even with an end of the strike getting closer (fingers crossed), Andor S2 will definitely be delayed and I think The Acolyte also hasn‘t finished filming yet. Those two getting delayed is inevitable, but I fail to see why Skeleton Crew should be pushed back more than a couple of months. It has long finished filming after all and the strikes don‘t affect post-production.

Hot take: that could be actually good for Star Wars.

There is some fatigue among casual viewers, I'm afraid. Would be good to let it rest for a while and could be an opportunity for Lego to give us some interesting/ more 'unexpected' sets.

I think they should delay 75374 Skeleton Crew Ship, since releasing it a year ahead of the series, doesn't seem the best idea? It will probably sit on shelves?

Um, where does this delay rumour even come from? All we currently know is that SC is not premiering this year, as initially planned. I‘ve seen nothing to suggest that long of a delay

The new midi scale line would’ve been a perfect opportunity to do a Chimera, rather than doing yet another Falcon for adults when there’s already a UCS and playscale version on the market. I feel a playset Chimera won’t do it justice.

I'm thinking the Kelleran Beq set will have 501st Troopers too since it's at a similar price point to the army builder set that will have the other two clone variants that would have made sense here anyway. I think 3 troopers is a bit optimistic though, I'd say one or two tops.

As much as I'd like to see a standard Gunship playset in the near future, I find it very unlikely until the Coruscant Gunship is gone. You refer to getting two Poe's X-Wings close to each other but that was a very different and unique situation that happened seven years ago. Like a lot of other companies, Lego was riding the hype of TFA and releasing a ton of sets related to it. It's very uncommon to have two of the same ship at the same scale at the same time, let alone a ship that would cost over $100 like the Gunship.

No way Skeleton Crew is getting pushed back to 2025. No one has indicated that. It was supposed to be a late 2023 release but it's clearly been pushed into 2024. Even if the show did get pushed back by a full year right now, the set could potentially be put on hold like Marvel's Eternals sets were but it'd be way too late to just release another set in its place.

From the shows that should conceivably be ready next year, we're probably going to see Skeleton Crew late winter/early spring, The Acolyte in late summer/early fall and I have no clue for The Bad Batch season 3. Tales of the Jedi season 2 is possible at some point next year as well since we have no idea where they're at in production or how many episodes there will be. Even with a deal with the Writer's Guild now being tentatively finalized and a deal with the SAG likely not far behind, Andor season 2 is still most likely pushed into 2025. That year could also be when we get Mando season 4 and maybe even the next animated series since The Bad Batch will be wrapped up?

As for what all this means for Lego sets, I think 2024 will see less sets based on new media and we'll get some more "catch-up" sets for what we're missing from Mando season 3 and Ahsoka, as well as your obligatory saga and TCW sets. I think Skeleton Crew will just get the one set for now, The Acolyte will get at least one but possibly more and we'll probably get nothing from the animated series. Even without Andor season 2 next year, I think the Fondor with a season one minifigure selection is very possible. It wouldn't be unlike when we get the BD-1 set released around the time Jedi Survivor was originally supposed to release.

The problem is that part of the reason people are wanting the Chimera as a playset are the figures it would come with. People want an updated Thrawn as well as some of the new characters and designs like Enoch and the Night Troopers.
