If someone wants it to be a faction, then yes. And if not, it can remain as dressing up kit for girls. There are plenty of other decorated shields (printed or stickered) that LEGO have produced that are not castle factions.

Just today when walking through my historic downtown I noticed an iron horse hitching post with a decorative horse head on top. Stood out to me because I had just noticed a black recolor of the hobby horse head in the Friends pony stable set that would be perfect for that sort of application. Probably useful for other decorative ironwork as well, or for small chess sets.

There are a smaller number of recognized factions than there are shield designs!

Does that piece come in other colors?  I noticed it looking at the leaked images and thought it would be a great decorative piece.

It originated with a cutesy print in the Knight of the Yellow Castle CMF, but recently appeared unprinted in white in the new Trevi Fountain Architecture set and will soon come in black. No other colors yet, but with it starting to appear in more decorative uses it's always possible.

Thank you for the info.  it will be a useful part especially with modifying the new 3in1 castle with the horse knights.

This Onepiece theme sure is churning out a lot of interesting minifigs and builds! It's tempting to start collecting them, but I've never watched the series. LOL

I think it could be the new orche yellow colour introduced with the friends ponies.

It is One Piece, the best selling Manga of all time in Japan.  Famous for its lighthearted adventure and solid story, while the artstyle is an acquired taste.

 

The sets are based on the live action adaptation on Netflix, Season 2 premiering 'soon'

Thundercats and Dino Riders....these were the cartoons I was watching in the eighties. Also cool toys from this cartoons. Are worth a lot now. I still have some of those toys.

Were did you see that? I know there is a Pegasus Hylian shield in a friends set

It's reported on the legoleaks subreddit. It's going to be a Christmas set, featuring a large Christmas tree with interior and lots of different characters.

People will be chasing this set for the minifigs/ minifig components.

Recently, I think Lego has been capitalizing on price gouging (think SW), and putting 'chase parts' in expensive sets. We can all just hope that all the 'chase parts' end up in PAB, and 'bestsellers' especially for American buyers.
