Hi everyone!

This is my first time entering in a Eurobricks contest so i'm really excited :classic: .

I decided to make a containertruck (like 8052 (the old one)). I started building very optimistic , 200 parts max would be easily possible i thought. When i finished my model, it counted around 250 parts, so I had to remove some parts. This was unfortunately at the expense of the beautiful and firmness. It now counts exactly 200 parts. However, I'm not totally happy with the result, and I hoped that some of you would have some tips how to improve my model  .

Have a nice day,

Mark

(sorry for my bad English)

meeh, making it smaller isn't really an option, I need the space for the LA and boom-system, I guess its just to big.

Nice entry, with room for improvement

To remove parts:

- simplify the hooks, they look quite part intensive

- use 5L liftarms for the front window (saves 4 parts)

- If you make the containerbed 5 wide you can save a lot there

- Use the technic frames 5x7 or 5x11 for the chassis

Hi everyone,

I've made some improvements to the containertruck (thanks to Jeroen Ottens  ). However I still think the cab is quite empty and I've, nevertheless the tips form Jeroen, still only 2 parts to spare.

In the mean time I've been working on an other version of the truck, much and much smaller, because I realized that the truck is probably to big for a 200 parts creation.

Attempt 1:

Attempt 2:

(note that the colours and some of the parts aren't the final colours or parts)

Tell me what you think :classic:,

Mark

Nice - Big brother to this little chap:

New_LEGO_Technic_Mini_Container_Truck_(8065)__55515_zoom.jpg

Perhaps use the same rear box as it will save on parts and lego used a city part in a technic set (shock! horror!) so its ok for us to do same?

So, I went on with the micro or the mini mini version  . Build in LDD and improved the cab a bit. The part count is exactly 200  . I think its time to order the missing parts and built it for real.

Thanks for all the tips/help :classic: . Tips are still welcome if you see any improvements  .

The final entry is wonderful. Just nice to see the work in progress you made and improving the model quiet a bit

The container is indeed a bit to small, but getting it under 200 parts, I think you made a good call.
