Road into darkness

Recommended Posts

To those who stay at home:

My mind cannot rest.

I am on the road again

... looking for truth.

But this time it won't be pleasant.

This time dark shadows cloud my way.

I do not know what I will find in the East.

But I do know that I will go there.

I am off to look for truth.

Friends! Forgive me!

- even though you cannot understand...

Yours,

Abū Alī al-Ḥusayn ibn Abd Allāh ibn Sīnā

Great little build, the sandy landscape looks great as does the camel carrying the belongings.

Very interesting landscaping Cristoph! The black "tangles" (undergrowth? trees? ruined iron structures?) remind me a bit of Shannon Sproule's "Midnight in the Forest" (after Max Ernst) I'm curious to see how the tangle would look at different densities... from a few scrubby bushes to a huge foreboding structure that almost engulfs the road ahead. Having a gradient on the road too could increase the dramatic appeal - you could either decend into the unknown or toil uphill into an uncertain future.

Anyway, i'm keen to see more of Abu Ali on his quest for truth and knowledge. Will you be continuing this storyline? (Btw, the way you narrate this sounds like poetry - very beautiful!)

ps. I highly encourage you to check out Shannon's MOC here if you haven't seen it already! :classic:

Nice build, the sand texture is good, and the camel's basket (basket to ride in, I mean) is excellent

The birds are a nice touch as well, and good work on the story :sweet:

I love the wierd plant made of technic digging claws.

The other plack construction makes me think it moves, but only when you're not looking at it.
