The Penguin Posted December 1, 2009 (edited) Ladies and gentlemen! ) I'm proud to present you my latest minifig customs, inspired by the game Red Alert 3. ) Stricktly speaking I do not have the idea of following the game absolutely, it's more like a thread with all stereotypes that some people have about Soviet and modern Russia. ) Here's a link to the game's main theme: Armored War Bear. ) You can even ride him! ) In Europe you hug a bear..... .... in Soviet Union the bear hugs YOU! ))))) I hope you liked them! ) Any comments, please? ) Good day, comrades! ) Edited December 1, 2009 by The Penguin

Buckshot Posted December 1, 2009 Nice! Love the Red Alert series--hope you continue with this project. Are dolphins next? Do you think you'll get to make an Apocalypse tank? Looking forward to your creations!
ZeeK Posted December 1, 2009 The Penguin AKA The Mythbuster: Russians are militarists - BUSTED! Bears are walking along the streets of Moscow (e.g.) - BUSTED! Perestroika, Kalashnikov, Sharapova - BUSTED! Nice conversion of polar bear into the "typical" one Nice use of BA's AK-47 Sweet "sickle-and-hammer" round plate It's a pity nnoone (eve Brickforge) do not supply military helmets in Khaki Green - those kepis do not match with Soviet Army's uniform. badboytje88 Posted December 1, 2009 Wow the bear looks awesome. Did you paint a white polar bear?
RampantDingo Posted December 1, 2009 Red alert 1 was my favorite game of all time. I might just have to make some old school units thanks to this.
YG-49 Posted December 1, 2009 You buy BrickArms Penguin?! I like the bear, how did you get the shield to attach?
The Who Posted December 1, 2009 Are those shields, as YG-49 calls them, painted on, or decaled? If painted, that is some excellent work! The bear is a very nice custom, I must say. Is the minifigure holding an AK-47? If so, that is a very appropriate gun, because (If I'm not mistaken) I do believe the AK was originally a Soviet designed gun. Are there any more coming? ADHO15 Posted December 6, 2009 Simply marvellous! Natasha is a perfect match, except her face looks a little less imposing and a little more shocked or sad. The Russian soldier looks funny and how did you make that balalaika? It's great! Great work as usual, Penguin.
Zorro Posted December 6, 2009 I love your Red Alert creations, especcialy Natasha . The 'armored war' bear looks amazing too.
The Who Posted December 7, 2009 That made my day. Both of these two look good as well, one more than the other... And I take it that is Brickforge's take on an AK that she's holding? The tone of the painting is a little light, but wood is never the same color.
CommanderFox Posted December 8, 2009 Another Great part Penguin! Natasha is perfect! Except as ADHO pointed out her facial expression. Well done and im looking forward to the next part! CommanderFox

The Who Posted January 11, 2010 (edited) I love how the lighting makes the sand green color look darker on the troops. Did you make the sickle that the left statue is holding? I've never seen one of them before. If that is an official Lego piece, that is the absolute perfect use for it. Edited January 11, 2010 by The Who
