Norrington Posted October 24, 2006 absolutly amazing.....stunning.......oh i wish i could build that..... is it going to be mini fig scale? because it would look incredible if it was.
Aaron Morse Posted October 24, 2006 Looks like I've got some competition in the big boat division, looks really really good! I like the separation between the gun decks. Good proportions on the hull. I liked the errika too, the only thing I'm not sold on is the spars. they look a bit fat or something.
legopirate83 Posted October 25, 2006 Okay (not ok-ey) dokey got more done on the aft section picts to come in the next day or two summary this is going to be mini fig scale have a crew of 500+ and as for the guns so far if i work it out correctly ti get 104 mounted cannon (standard lego cannon) 50 swivel cannons of my own design all pulls apart to see inside very playable but still working out the details george

I commented in your Khornes' thread too but it should be here too. Welcome to Eurobricks LegoPirate! *y* Your Soleil Royal looks great, and HUGE! Your a very clever builder, the gunports and mast use a very innovative snot technique. I wish you luck on this great endeavor and it looks like your photography skills have improved too! P.S. there's another thread about a Soleil Royal, see it here.

Mister Phes Posted October 27, 2006 Is there any chance of scaleing these images down to fit in the thread? It would be great if we could post some directly in the thread. Anyway, as for the MOC... How big will it be when completed? What will the measurements be?
legopirate83 Posted October 28, 2006 Is there any chance of scaleing these images down to fit in the thread? It would be great if we could post some directly in the thread.Anyway, as for the MOC... How big will it be when completed? What will the measurements be? pictures..... what size do i need to scale them down to measurements are somewhere between 200-250 studs long 52 studs across masts are still being determined but im to use a sphere idea coined by bruce lowell (heres his BS account) http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=44794 this is a studs on all sides sphere it will 10 studs across and maybe if i can do math at all, about 125 bricks high but those measurement are subject to change with the design bricklink.com has been a great place to find parts
Scouty Posted October 28, 2006 B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L! First of all I love the colors, and i liike the imense detail on the small secton on the ship before. Good luck finishing this!
Mister Phes Posted October 29, 2006 pictures.....what size do i need to scale them down to 800 x 600 is an ideal size. I'm not sure how good you are with the software but if you've got Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Fireworks, etc. you can do what's called a "batch resize" so you can resize all your images at once which is a lot faster than doing them individually. If you don't have any programs capable of doing a batch resize just wait a week and I'll have written a tutorial for doing a batch resize in a freeware program called Irfanview. But for now just resize one or two pictures so we can post them in the thread.
legopirate83 Posted October 31, 2006 Okay (not ok-ey) dokey so much done tonite X-D pictures will be up on BS in the morning and i will post some in the thread at 800x600 thanks phes! mmmmm...... lego *sweet*
Bonaparte Posted October 31, 2006 That's a big (and beautiful) ship you're building. Will you put it on display somewhere or are you just building it for fun? Do you still have the other ships that are in your brickshelf folder or are you reusing the parts?
legopirate83 Posted October 31, 2006 That's a big (and beautiful) ship you're building. Will you put it on display somewhere or are you just building it for fun? Mister Phes Posted November 1, 2006 Your treasure horde is quite impressive, I would post an image of it but that would blow the thread out of proportions at the moment so I'll do it after you've resized the images. In a couple more days I'll do that Irfanview tutorial so everyone know how to use a free batch image resizing program.
legopirate83 Posted November 2, 2006 ok i got the image sizing down i think X-D
Bonaparte Posted November 2, 2006 thanks i hope i will be able to put it on display at Legoland California when im all done i have all the stuff in my pirates folder on BS on display at legoland california Do you have some 'special connections' in Legoland California to get your ships displayed or do you just knock at the door and say: "Hey, I build a new ship, can I put it on display in your park please"? It must be really weard, to build a ship and not have it with you afterwards in your house. Well, I guess it is a great honor to have your MOC on display in Legoland. oo7 Posted November 3, 2006 I thought you were going to name it Soliel Royal, but if you want names... All the Spanish sailing ship names you'll ever need That should give you a good selection. :-P
