  1. Samuel Scarver had been following Corringtons actions closely as the threat of the Lotii in New Haven grew bigger by the day... knowing that our leaders would never let them get away with it. When news of a planned invasion finally arrived, he knew he had to help. In his prime he would have taken a Letter of Marque and gone there himself, alas, his age would not allow him. However, retired from a successful trade company, Samuel owned a good handful of ships. So he had his best warship restored and ready for action. She was a Corvette he had captured on one of his trade expeditions all those years ago. The ship was fast and well armed, with a total of 18x 8-pounder guns, 4x 6-pounders : 2 bow chasers and 2 stern chasers, and to top it all off, 10 swivel guns to repel all boarders. She was the perfect escort, not a single piece of cargo was ever lost under her protection. In many ways she reminded him a lot of his mother, as she had always shielded him from danger, despite how hard he made it. So he named her, Alexandra, his mother's name, and had the figurehead represent her holding her favorite bird, the hummingbird. To tell the truth, he was sad to let her go… But he knew she would serve the Queen well, just like she had him. And to a man who bled the colors of Corrington, nothing meant more. He contacted an old friend of his from the Noble Parliament, whom he intrusted to find a suitable captain for the ship. With her Majesty's Navy having no shortage of experienced naval officers, the ship was immediatly assigned to an up-and-coming captain Foster. A mere 3 days later, Samuel Scarver stood at the docks of Belson, as he watched HMS Alexandra sail into the sunset. (There are actually 9 figures barely visible / invisible from the angle I took the image ) ----------- A new Cruiser for the Navy! She is a class 6 Corvette built for the Oaken Shield task, you are free to decide her stats, otherwise she is ready to be licenced. This ship is heavily inspired by one of "boeing_787_8_dreamliner" ships on instagram, he makes som very nice ships and was nice enough to send me the file for his ship "La Therese". I learned a lot of new technics from his ship and I borrowed 90% of his fantastic rigging as well as some other parts. (Samuel Scarver is Edward's father and was referred to in my character's introduction)
  2. THIS IS NOT MY WORK Hamster Productions has created an absolutely amazing brickfilm with a great story, lovely animation, and perfect sound editing. It's about 15 minutes long and worth every second!

P03 by Philippe, auf Flickr I changed the slopes on the side walls to brown, which makes the ship look darker and more frightening. P04 by Philippe, auf Flickr So that the ship does not look stupid, I extended the quarterdeck and the forecastle. I made the quarterdeck a little lower compared to the original. Under the forecastle is storage space. P05 by Philippe, auf Flickr In addition, I wanted to raise the side walls on deck and have space for the boats. If the loading hatch is used, the boats have to be removed. P06 by Philippe, auf Flickr I also made a companion hatch on the lower deck. It only has a ladder, because a staircase would have taken up a lot of space for the canon to be used. P07 by Philippe, auf Flickr So that it fits to the ship I changed the position of the masts. The ship was roughly divided into 3 thirds. In between came the masts. The masts had to continue below deck between the cannons so as not to restrict operation. 8. I see that LEGOLAND Florida has just announced a new Pirate themed ride coming to the park with a nifty little video. LEGOLAND as always is keeping the LEGO Pirate spirit alive between set releases.
  9. In the early days of the exploration and settlement beyond Terraversa, pirates were plentiful as the lack of armed warships made explorers and merchants easy targets. Her Majesty requested that any individuals and trade companies who would help outfit warships for protection of these new colonies would be rewarded with command of the ship given to a qualified individual of their choosing, and right of first capture of other ships. Since Micah and WETEC had stumbled upon a pirate treasure early in their travels they used these funds to outfit a ship for her majesty. [/url HMS El Bellos was outfitted and set sail in April of 616. The Captaincy was granted to one of the WETEC owners, George Knight. He still captains that ship and has served Corrington well in that position. The ship defended merchants admirably and in February of 617, it was patrolling with 3 other warships, when it set upon four pirate ships. The ships captured the Octavia, and sank the other three pirates. As her majesty promised the Octavia was granted to WETEC as its capture and with some retrofitting it has sailed as the flagship of WETEC. It has been the primary ship used by Micah and Elizabeth when sailing between the WETEC's holdings. However, with a new stronger flagship being produced for the WETEC, and the WETEC merging more under the banner of the ETTC, the Octavia is being handed over to focus more on merchant endeavors. However, Micah has heard that her majesty has need of a ship to move some troops so he is sending her for that purpose. OOC: It has been a while since I have finished anything and this digital build has been a multi year project. I hope to get back to building quicker again, as I enjoy building these stories.
  10. Dear adventurer, this is the tale around the Temple of the Black Panther, follow the map and you will probably find it´s secrets... Deep in the south american jungle a shadow strikes through the thicket - the black Panther. It is worshipped by the native people and therefore they build a temple in his honour. To honour the god of the panther, they worship him with gifts of gold and blood... The adventures Part1: Clash of cultures After the landing of the spanish armada, they set forth into the jungle, seeking for the gold around the myths of el dorado. They made contact with the people and shared knowledge and goods so they could make a deal to get a map to the famous sectret temple in the jungle. With this help they managed to reach the tempel and made conttact with the prist of the panther. They have been welcomed friendly but it did not take long before the obsession for gold took over their minds... Part2: The black panther Years later, the ruins of the temple still resist the nature. A native strives through the jungle and came across already forgotten tempel. Suddenly the panther himselfs shows up and the native fled back into the jungle. Part3: Indiana Jones Getaway A shot bursts through the jungle! In the last second Indy jumps out of the way of the bullet across the big ants with the help of his whip. The russian agent has the choice, let him escape or confront herself to the dangers of the jungle? Part4: From Dusk Till Dawn - final szene (only open if you already know the movie) Extra: Nighmode and view from above Treasure hunt In the MOC is a hidden set, can you spot it? More pictures and a short video at flickr Album by Stoertebricker So now I finished my recap of my last builds, I hope you enjoy them! Adrian aka Störtebricker

  13. North shore of Tortuga, nowadays. This is the Magnetic North, without the low sails, sailing close on a northwester wind to round the reefs of shipwreck bay... The jib just bursted out requiring a sailor on the bowsprit to cut the sheets. Capt Bluebeard : Hurry up ! You, jailbirds ! Man the working ropes ! Trim on ! Freshwater swabs ! Callaghan : Apparently, he's got a real temper ! Dr Thaum : Sure Callaghan, I need this strong temper at the head of the Magnetic North. Especially for that kind of destination. *** Iauln : We are sailing north, mister Church, and we are sailing 8 knots close hauled ! I love this ship ! Church : Yes, my little man, nice start of the trip. ****** Two years of building, the most of time was wasted on those bloody shrouds ( to the devil with them !!! ) This the less bad render I come up with (for the shrouds). For the ship, I'm quite pleased, and a even little bit proud of the result. Thanks to my friend Charly for the pics (he's a professionnal photographer ) C&C welcome as usual, and there will be a more complete thread on the Pirate MOCs Forum.
  14. "Well she's not very fast, but she also isn't very maneuverable." Captain Tewton stated flatly. "Wait what?" Said, Master Shipwrite Jean Benoit "Not really much to look at either, though the new paint job has helped... I guess" Tewton continued "This design was used for 100s of years. And these are classic color schemes!" Benoit, between bewilderment and annoyance. "This was a major investment of resources and yard space." Benoit stewed. "I'm just teasing you, Sir. Well I mean, she is sturdy! Thats for darn sure. And man, can she haul some freight! I guess, I get why they used this design for 100s of years, you know, but also why they kept working on it." Captain Tewton was not the most polished Captain in the merchant fleet, but supposedly could sail a sea turtle with his undershirt and had an impeccable record. Perhaps his honesty was appropriate, in fact this was just the feedback Benoit had expected to get, more or less. The new ship would serve its purpose as a merchant well enough. Still though, Benoit had invested a lot in the design of this large Class V Merchant Vessel. "I think she looks pretty good from behind? Those thick lines and short design look good from the back?" Tewton was giggling at something, Benoit wasn't sure what, Benoit looked on concerned that he was laughing at the ship's stern, Tewton caught his misplaced anxiety and put him at ease, "Hey to each their own, my momma always said. Dont worry Sir, its a fine ship, a great crew, and an outstanding Captain... in my unbiased opinion." Tewton couldn't resist though... "And as you say, she has plenty of room in the old cargo hold..." Benoit again couldn't understand what Tewton was giggling about. Of course it had a tremendous cargo capacity. That was the whole intent of using this old design, what on earth was so funny?
  15. Pirates Island, a nice little place to relax when they’re not plundering the seas.
  16. I don't build boats often for the Governors, or Blue Coats if you prefer, but I do on occasion. I actually built this last year, but only just got around to taking photos. Midway Midway Midway Midway It may be one of my best builds yet, it certainly feels like it to me. I am annoyed at that fact, because it is a governor ship. They are easily the third, maybe the fourth favorite faction of mine. Imperials and Pirates being the top two (Not necessarily in that order) and the Governors and Armada vie for third place. Tell me what you think! EKnight
  17. Hi mates! It has been some time, I only teased differend WIPs but never showed a finished one the last months... No honestly, I just had no time - but now it´s here: Davy Jones, do you fear the Black Pearl? The ship is fully motorized accompanying my "Rolling" Dutchman: Motorized Features: Rolling movement caused by waves (1. L-Motor) Motorized movement for- and backward (1. L-Motor, switched manually) Motorized steering with simoultaneously rotating ship´s wheel, rudder and steering mechanism (1.S-Motor) Motorized sail trim with turning capstan and changing sail position of all square sails (2.S-Motor) All features can be controlled by rc-control via 4 channels and two receivers The battery box can slide out easily to switch on/off and change batteries EXTRA: The lower cannons can fire a broadside automatically! General Features: Two decks with cannons (one side the lower deck is closed to store the motors) The two tripple-barreld chasers can manually slide backwards and then the gun ports can be closed Handmade sails or original Lego-Sails Two functional anchors Upper cabin minifigure size (illuminated by light-brick) The ropes between the masts can be removed easily to take them apart for transport Some videos in the flickr album, showing the different fuctions: Black-Pearl at Flickr Black-Pearl Full Broadside Firing 2 There is also a video on youtube showing the ship and its functions (german): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35WEGDM8yYE The functions are shown at e.g. 04:55 and the shooting mechanism at 07:18. I have the ship with self-made sails fitting the style of my "Rolling" Dutchman as well: I hope you enjoy it! My dream is a video reassembling the popular footage in the maelstroom, I hope I can arrange something similar in the future... Yours, Captain Störtebricker
  18. Captain Surlecoup, as an Olean privateer, made his first appearance in the Westface, while the RNTC was carrying out a mission in Terraversa. OL's mission in Westface had to solicit the captain's help after having detained by the local authority, despite their prior efforts in rescueing shipwrecked TVsans. The whole thing turned out to be a trap set by the lawless TV militia, and without the intervention of a more reasonable mind, war between OL and TV could have taken place years before. Then, our relentless captain has proved his competence and savoir-faire during the Lotus incident, delivering precious information about the motivation behind that sudden incursion of Lotii in El Oleonda, and in the subsequent sea battle, he, with his samourai friends, captured a Lotii warjunk. It's in recognition of his devotion to the Crown that this frigate was specially designed and built for him. In line with the latest advancement in OL's naval architecture, this ship has the particularity of offering more room for the crew, allowing them to better adapt to a prolonged journey on sea. To be licensed as a class 6 ship. OOC: I beat my record on shipbuilding with these two ships, as my family and I endured another turn of knock down due to the virus where I live, which gave me a lot of building time, but the down side is the delivery service was down too, so I had to work with the existing bricks. This frigate was built after a model of French frigate that I found on the net, it's labeled as "a privateer frigate" and has the particularity of having an enclosed weather deck, or some sort of extended poop deck, not commonly seen on other frigates I think.
  19. Eddies and currents around Hellion's coast bring crabs to a small beach on the island. The locals have capitalized on this and they often use rowboats to force the crabs on shore and grab them with nets. A building has been built for the equipment and trades often occur near the premises. The boats force the crabs on shore.
  20. To Rear-Admiral Fletcher Commander of the Royal Terra Novan Fleet Wullham became quite busy. The city flourishes and there clearly is no shortage of work. But on the other hand we struggle under a shortage of supplies, an unfortunate moment, as a new ship, the 38 Gun frigate Argonaut, just launched, now sitting in the harbour with only the standing rigging complete. The situation would benefit from the admiralty taking up an official position about the importance of Wullham and its trading value. I hope to solve the issue as soon as possible. Your humble servant, Jorin Farrensman Shipwright of Wullham So now I need the help of other Corrington members. To make it an offical GoC entry, I need you to post additional tasks to get the ship being able to participate in the game. For example I thought about some scenes like preparing the yards/chopping some trees, making the sails, recruiting the crew, collecting the food rations and other supplies. Or whatever you can come up with. So once 4 tasks are done, I will add the frigate to the GoC thread. It would be nice, if you post them here as well, of course you can license them. This idea was somewhat agreed upon by @Bregir, if anything won't work, I will change or delete it.
  21. Hello, On the Lego World Builder website (https://worldbuilder.tongal.com) people can design their own new Lego Theme. If the design gets plenty of votes and LEGO likes it, then the new Lego World may actually be taken into production. Being a fan of Lego Pirate themes I figured LEGO can always do with a new Pirate Theme, especially one with a clear story line. Therefore I came up with the idea of a story about a young Redbeard before he lost his limbs and one of his eyes. Roger Crow, later to be known as Captain Redbeard, washes up on an unknown island. He cannot believe he has survived. After the initial shock he needs to explore the island to look for food. Doing so he discovers the island is not deserted but there is indeed human, and not so human, life. There are several villages with islanders and pirates, a lagoon where sometimes mermaids can be spotted, quite a few skeletons lying about and the spirits of doomed soldiers near the ruins of an imperial fort. I invite you all to visit the website and check out my work. Of course I would really appreciate it if you would give "Distant Shores" your vote. https://worldbuilder.tongal.com/world/6850b491-4611-4306-b1e5-765fa6d12a I somehow managed to upload two pictures that I did not really want to add, but I cannot get rid of them. I have tried. If somebody knows how to delete uploaded pictures, please let me know. For now please disregard the following images:
  22. BUILDING INSTRUCTIONS There be a new 5th rate frigate found in these waters. She be called the Fer Maiden, pierced for 36 guns. She's armed with 18 long guns on her upper (gun) deck with a further 14 carronades on her weather decks. 2 long gun bow chasers and 2 larger carronades on her stern complete her firepower. She's built at Theme-scale: a slick, fast hunter that can protect merchants ... or hunt and take prizes. In this build she is flying the black, but every smart pirate knows that a letter of marque from a faction's admiralty is worth more than pieces of eight. A "chest" of alternate flags would be a great compliment. Features: a working capstan to weigh anchor, a stove to feed her crew, a furnished cabin for her captain, standing and running rigging with yards that rotate to accurately portray various sailing profiles, and removable foc'sle and quarter decks to allow access to her gun deck and interior. This is designed and built using real parts first before I made it digital in Stud.io and uses 100% legal build techniques and pieces. Now, keep that prize 2 points off our larboard bow on a broad reach, throw all sheets to the wind and let her eat. Build details: this started as an evolution from my earlier Barracuda frigate (21322 x2) but quickly became her own endeavor. I tried to nail the desired level of play vs realism, staying in theme scale and hull sections. My reasoning is that it can integrate nicer with peoples' official set collections if they choose. Because of that I decided to leave the molded shrouds off the mizzenmast, which allowed me to get the proportions of the sail plan "correct" whilst still allowing for full rotation of the yards and spanker. I fully realize some of the concessions and compromises I had to make but I like the result and challenge. Apologies for the lack of detail shots, I will add more when I assemble her crew. Full respect to you long-time MOC builders pioneering the space, and hopefully when viewing her with the theme-scale perspective you understand why I did certain things. One of which is only 4 mid sections, though her length is much closer to that of a 5-mid-frigate. I am currently building her modular lower hull so she can be displayed/played with a variety of ways - especially on an island beach getting careened, or perhaps in a yard getting her copper. BUILDING INSTRUCTIONS https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-65878/supersick_/fer-maiden-privateer-frigate/#details BREAKING NEWS: LEGO Group to Release NEW Pirate Ship! (April Fools 2021 shenanigans) Pirates were mysteriously absent from the BrickLink Designer Program but we now have the reason... The LEGO Group will be releasing a new pirate ship named "The Firebird Frigate", complete with box art evoking the retro style of the classic sets.
  23. One of two ships originally designed to be an armed merchant men for the RNTC back when this limited skirmish on the island of Terraversa was well contained. The dramatic changes in the diplomatic mood of the Brick Seas caused the navy to step in and repurpose the ship mid-construction. The HRS Helios is now a full man-of-war. A total of 48 heavy guns, each broadside hold 24. Down below we can see two full decks of guns, followed by a third full deck for cargo, packed and ready. Her hull is large, long and wide, designed to hold both large cargos and while still maintaining a full gun deck to ward off Sea Rats. The ship remains equipped with cranes and extra cargo hatches for easy loading and unloading. Also, plenty of cloth to move the large ship. Though, had the word arrived at the Beauchamp Shipyard earlier, the Navy never would have paid for such a large and ornate stern section when they could have saved a penny and added a few more guns. Captain Gillette is an old pious disciplinarian. There is no cursing aboard his ship, he is never far from his family monk, who accompanies him into battle, and he begins each day with a prayer during the change in watch. He runs a tight ship, but the crew jokes that if any commander ever had the gods on his side, it is Captain Gillette. The thrifty Captain has more than a bit of embarrassment at the ornate design of his ship. Though at least the stern cannons add a practical element. And the pious Captain takes pride in daily recreating the God, Helios' journey across the Brick Seas and over the horizon. (Another shot, better for the bow piece but (like the rigging) the hoses didn't get rendered in this bottom on) Edit: coming soon hidden content to side by side the Helios and Phoebe (the sun and the moon) which are a pair of similar ships deliberately built to go together, but are not "sisterships."
  24. The Olean fleet has been blockading the Terraversa since months, despite their best efforts, several Corrie and Eslandian ships have managed to pass through the blockade and landed hundreds of troops on that island, complicating the already complex situation. In response to this show of force, the ministry of the colonnies has ordered a couple of new ships to the Eltina Shipyards, where men were working at full capacity since the start of hostility. Here's one example of the newly commissioned by la Royale. Built for speed and firepower, this class of new frigates, along with other heavy hitters, will help Oleon to maintain its naval superiority. Duc de Boussac on the poop deck, apparently happy with the sailing performance of his new ship. To be licensed as a class 6 ship.
  25. Hello, I have a lego pirates imperial soldier figure which I cannot find on bricklink, brickset or any price guide (and that includes the ones that include the rarest of figures, like 'figure with only 50 copies which was given away at a lego convention in Romania in 2006'), and I think it may be worth money. Will upload a picture once I find it but basically it's this figure: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?M=pi004b#T=S&O={"iconly":0} except with a tricorn and possibly slightly different head, and with the lego logo on his back. It seems to have been a keychain as it does not come apart. He used to have the bottom of a plastic key chain (like this: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?G=3977c&name=Legoland Ambassador Key Chain - plastic chain, with stripes on back&category=[Key Chain][Legoland Parks]#T=S&O={"iconly":0}) on his head but this broke off years ago, probably still in a box somewhere! I think I got the figure at a young age in a box of second-hand lego my mum got me from a co-worker (mostly 90s stuff). If anyone can give a link to a bricklink page or any sources about the figure, please let me know. Would love to know if it's valuable/how it was initially sold. If there's a different forum for which this may be more appropriate please let me know.
