TECHNIC BANDITS VS ENFORCERS CONTEST Bandits are roaming the wastelands, driving custom battle vehicles, making life miserable, hatching plots against humanity and what not. Things would have gone from bad to worse if it weren't for the Enforcers, trying to maintain peace and calm. This ongoing conflict needs to end once and for all. DESCRIPTION Build a Technic Vechicle with two modes, one normal mode and a battle mode. The vehicle needs to be able to switch/transform between the two modes. In normal mode the vehicle needs to look like a normal vehicle, without visible weapons, armor, etc. In battle mode all bets are off. No restrictions here, use your imagination. Weapons popping out, armor plating sliding out, whatever. You and your vehicle need to survive, so you need to outsmart your rivals. For example: A vehicle with wheels (a car, a motorbike) that turns into a vehicle that doesn't need wheels (a plane, a helicopter, a boat, a submersible). A truck that transforms into a rocket launch site A helicopter that turns into a jet plane TRANSFORMATION The single most important aspect of this contest is that the vehicle (that is the chassis or bodywork) needs to have some sort of transformation, which makes it possible to turn the normal vehicle into the battle vehicle. Essentially, it needs to transform into another type of vehicle, or the same vehicle with sufficient transformation. For example; You can create a vehicle where the bodywork rises and can turn like a tank. This doesn't really make it a different vehicle, but there is a proper transformation. CHOOSE SIDES Before you start building, you need to choose a side! Will you ride with the Bandits and wreak havoc or will you uphold the law and roll with the Enforcers. The choice is yours! In order to distinguish the two sides, there's a mandatory color scheme to be used. The Enforcers roll in Black & White (optional), while the Bandits use any other color combination they can get their hands on (Red, Yellow, Blue, Green, a mix of colors, whatever). Both sides can use Grey as a supporting color (as long as it's not predominant). Both sides can use any color in the chassis, as long as the bodywork is mainly the color of the chosen sides Both sides can use grey in the chassis. Colored pins and bushes are allowed, but please try to avoid using colored connectors, clearly visible from the outside. NAME YOUR VEHICLE What would a bad megablocks vehicle be without a bad megablocks name?! Exactly! So each vehicle needs to have a cool name, designating the vehicle in the pack. DEADLINE Since this is a summer contest and some of you might enjoy a well earned holiday, the allotted time for this contest is 8 weeks. Deadline date is August 16th, 2015. Contest will be closed on Monday the 17th OR LATER. Disclaimer: I will close the contest when I see fit and when I have the time to process the results. This can be later than the 10th of August. Please don't complain about this not being fair and all. RULES AND REGULATIONS The following section describes the contest specific and general rules and regulations. But before that, please take notice of a simple motto regarding the Eurobricks Contests: CONTESTS ARE FOR FUN! Of course there's competition, but at the end of the day, LEGO is just a hobby and the main goal for each of us is to have fun! CATEGORIES In order to make it a bit more interesting for everyone to enter the contest, we are trying something new. Instead of having a single list of participants with Jeroen winning , this contest consists of two categories (A and B). One for Pro builders (designated by the Pro tag) and the previous contest medalists. The second category is for everyone else. Updated category rules (thanks to Lipkop for the suggestion): The two categories aren't strictly separated. Voters will not be forced to vote in both categories, and the ranking will still be announced as a single list, not just the separated A and B lists. So basically everything will be as it was before, but the first pro/non-pro in the list also gets a prize and gets attention. The winner of the non pro category might get promoted tho the pro list Disclaimer: Not all Pro builders have a Pro tag. When I see a Pro builder entering the contest, I retain the right to grant him the Pro builder tag and promote him to category A (no questions asked). CONTEST SPECIFIC RULES AND REGULATIONS Each vehicle needs to have a cool name (no name, no entry). Each contestant needs to chose a side (Bandits or Enforcers). Bodywork of an Enforcer needs to be Black & White (optional) as supporting color (grey as supporting color is allowed). Bodywork of a Bandit needs to be Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, ... (any color, or a mix of colors), as long as it's not Black or White (grey as supporting color is allowed). Pneumatics are permitted. LEDs are permitted. 3rd party strings, hoses and rubber bands are permitted. Electronics (PF elements, SBricks and Mindstorms) are permitted. GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS The contest is open to all EB members (also new members). Members who joined EB after the start of the contest can be banned from voting (when vote rigging is suspected). Voting rules will be explained later in the voting topic. One entry per member. Entries need to be new (never posted anywhere previously). Only physical builds, so no LDD or other virtual entry. If you have any doubts about the suitability of your entry contact me. All entries are to include only real LEGO. No clone brands, 3rd party parts, or digital entries allowed. No cutting, sculpting or modifying parts. Entries are to be placed in the entry topic in this forum. Entries not in the entry topic are not eligible for voting. The entry post may be edited at any time up to the end of the contest, so feel free to make improvements if you wish. The contest might be closed later than the deadline. Don't complain about this not being fair. You have enough time to build. Don't ask for more time. We reserve the right to disqualify any entry that does not follow these rules. These rules can be changed whenever we see fit to ensure that people follow the intent of the contest. Staff members are not eligible for winning prizes. WHAT DO I NEED TO ENTER? Thank you all for your patience. I've had a lot of real life events keeping me from posting this. And let me tell you, it was hard to narrow it down to the final entries that you all get to vote on. For all of you whose entries did not make it, it wasn't because your entry wasn't good. I thought all the battle packs were incredible and showed hard work on your part. Thank you for getting involved. Voting is now open! Each picture is a link to the original thread. Please go to each thread before voting as there are more pictures from the members that may help you make a better choice. Please vote for your two favorite entries by listing the numbers. For example: Only those who were members before the contest ended on June 1st can vote. If you were not a member before June 1st then you can't vote. This is to prevent accounts being created for voting. You must vote for two entries, you cannot only vote for one. The two entries with the most votes will win the prize: Endor Rebel Trooper & Imperial Trooper Battle Pack. Some members have more than one entry you can vote for. As a member can only win one of the two prizes, if a member gets the most votes for both of their entries the 2nd prize will go to the 3rd place member. You cannot vote for your own entry! Voting will close at the end of the day on the 24th of June. As long as it is still the 24th somewhere in the world, you can still vote. Votes cast after that hour will not be accepted. 1. LordDan - Advanced Bomb Squad 2. jansued - Alliance Anti Boarding Crew 3. Ninja Nin - Angry Senator Battle Pack 4. Artizan - Arc Troopers Battlepack 5. BJM - Assassins of Honoghr 6. This is my entry (Yay! I'm the first!) for the Star Wars Vs Marvel Contest Category A. I wanted to make a fluid fighting scene, and I think this works quite well. Spider-man, "In your face!" Spider-man uses his web to pull off a speeder from it's course. He has already taken care of this Stormtrooper. A shot of the vegetation. Another shot of vegitation Another Stormtrooper. A shot from under. There he is again! Spider-man taking in 5 of the Empire's finest! I hope you like it (and vote for it) and if you do, be sure to comment!

Voting is over and the votes have been tallied, congratulations jansued and Artizan! Ever since 2007 The Lego Company has raided our wallets with their mostly popular (and sometimes less so, I’m looking at you 8015 Assassin Droid!) Battle Packs. Now it’s your turn! Create your own Star Wars Battle Pack to populate the galaxy (and your desk) with more minifigures! An all Jedi battle pack, Star Wars Christmas battle pack, an astromech battle pack, a cantina goer battle pack, the options are endless! All entries should include a small build with play features as well as 4 minifigures. Look to the previous battle packs for inspiration but use your imagination too. If you are using aliens that do not already have a mold produced by Lego (such as the Quarren), they must be a race that makes an appearance in one of the main 6 Star Wars movies. This is not a fig-barf contest. Each entry will be judged on play features, the main build, and the minifigures. The entries will be given a maximum of 6/15 points for the build, 5/15 points for the minifigures, and 4/15 points for play features. Rules Each person is allowed up to 2 entries in this contest, but each person is eligible to receive only one prize. Each entry must include 4 minifigures or the equivalent of minifigures (brick built figs may not contain more than 30 pieces). Each entry should not include more than 100 pieces (not including minifigures and 1 weapon apiece), but there will be some grace given if the piece count exceeds this number be a small amount. The contest will run from 1st May to 31th May, 2015. As long as it's still May 31 somewhere in the world, you can still enter. Entries posted after the deadline will be disqualified. This contest is open to all EB members, even if they joined EB after the contest has begun. EB Staff are ineligible to win prizes. All entries must be new creations, not posted anywhere else prior to being entered in the contest. You may be asked by a staff member to change your entry if it is too similar to an earlier creation. All entries must be built from real LEGO. No clone brands, no third-party custom parts. Digital entries will be allowed. All digital entries must use only existing pieces in existing colors. You can use official stickers or custom stickers for the minifigures only. All entries must be posted as a new topic in the Watto’s Junkyard forum, the title prefixed by, "[sWBP] – entry name". (For example, "[sWBP] – Youngling Battle Pack") A link must also be included in this thread for your entry to count. Post pictures no larger than 800x640, but you may link to bigger pictures. You may do a 'full-blown photo edit' with all the text, effects, background compositing, support erasing, and other effects on one picture. All your other pictures may have no editing other than color adjustment or background removal for a solid-color background. For obvious reasons, any photo editing that changes the shape, functionality, or color (not tint or adjustment, but actual color) of a LEGO piece is prohibited. It is also prohibited to use the Lego logo in any picture. All entries are considered WIPs (Works In Progress) until the deadline passes. Until the deadline has passed, you are allowed to change and improve your MOC. If there are more than 25 entries, EB staff will make a first selection to bring the number down to 25, and then EB members will vote for their favorite entry among that selection. EB staff will using the judging scale listed above. EB members should vote based on the judging scale, but will not be required to show what points they judged by. Rules Update: The piece count allowed for brick-built figs has been increased to 30 pieces The piece limit rules has been updated to be more flexible. It's still at 100, but there is some overage allowed. This is being purposely left vague because I don't want people to abuse this rule and I reserve the right to veto any builds that are obviously too parts intensive. Entries are not required to list their piece count (though you still can if you want). The piece count needs to visually look like it could be a battlepack but can be done in a completely different way from the TLG produced battlepacks. (See my example entry for what would still be acceptable if it's not in the TLG format). Prizes First and second place will win 9489 Endor Rebel Trooper & Imperial Trooper Battle Pack. Example Entry: Rodian Bounty Hunter Battle Pack A galaxy far, far away always has work for a bounty hunter. Go on adventures with this group of Rodians! Help them crack the security codes on the door! Help make sure this group of bounty hunters always gets their guy, alive or disintegrated!

UPDATE! The deadline has been extended to Aug 2nd! UPDATE! The prizes have been listed! What has, for decades now, been the history of the Star Wars universe after Return of the Jedi will officially be replaced this December. The story of the Expanded Universe has been told through dozens of books, some of them good and some of the not-so-good. But for many Star Wars fans, those books have been on equal footing with the movies. It has been long enough now since Lucas announced that he would be re-writing Star Wars history, that those of us who are EU fans have come to terms with the fact. But before Star Wars 7 is released, I want to celebrate the former EU with a contest. Because the EU covers too large an amount of time, this contest will only deal with events taking place between 4 ABY to 24 ABY (ABY=After the Battle of Yavin). The contest will also only include content found in books, not video games or e-novellas. Each entry will need to cite which book it is from (exact page numbers not necessary). The following is a list of books that can be used for this contest: For those who are less familiar with the EU I would suggest checking out Wikipedia and Wookieepedia's sections on the New Republic era as that is where all the books you can build from are found. Category A: Show an interaction between the good guys and the bad guys. Maybe Jacen and Jaina Solo are trying to escape from Qorl, the TIE pilot. Maybe Corran Horn is helping to defeat the ghost of Exar Kun. Maybe Talon Karrde is trying to survive an encounter with Admiral Thrawn. Or maybe the Rogue Squadron is facing off against Ysanne Isard. Whichever characters you choose, this category should be about the interaction between them. This is not a contest about for making the best custom EU minifigs. This category will be judged based on how recognizable the setting and interaction of the characters is. Category B: Build a ship from the EU. This should be a ship that does not appear in the films but only in the EU. Exceptions to this would be ships owned by specific people such as Kyp Durron’s X-Wing or Ysanne Isard’s Super Star Destroyer the Lusankya. Other exceptions would be variations on ships like the Stealth X-Wing. Examples of ships that are only in the EU would be the Wild Karrde, the Sun Crusher, the K-Wing, TIE-uglies, etc. Category C: This category is all about the creatures of the EU. Build a brick built Ysalamir of Myrkr, a Crystal Spider from the glitterstim spice mines of Kessel, one of Talon Karrde’s Vornskr, a battle hydra used by Exar Kun, or any other creature from the EU. Alternately, you could use a creature already molded by Lego and create the setting from the EU in which the creature is found. You could build the wampa pack led by the one-armed wampa on Hoth, a Hapan horde of rancors, or other scenes. Rules One entry per member and per category. You can enter all categories with different entries, but you'll be eligible to receive only one prize. There are no size restrictions for any of the categories. The contest will run from 4th May to 2nd Aug, 2015. As long as it's still Aug 1st somewhere in the world, you can still enter. Entries posted after the deadline will be disqualified. This contest is open to all EB members, even if they joined EB after the contest has begun, with the exception of the Star Wars staff, who are not eligible to win prizes. All entries must be posted as a new topic in the Watto’s Junkyard forum, the title prefixed by, "[sWEU] – category - entry name". (For example, "[sWEU] – Cat. A. - Jacen and Jaina’s Harrowing Escape".) A link must also be included in this thread for your entry to count. For each category, EB staff will choose the top 25, and then EB members will vote for their favorite entry among that selection. Prizes First place in Cat. A will win 75053 The Ghost First place in Cat. B will win 75046 Coruscant Police Gunship First place in Cat. C will win 75045 Republic AV-7 Anti-Vehicle Cannon

Phew! Finished this in time because my partner for Cat B didn’t have time to finish it so he gave it to me to finish. Comparison photos between the builds will be in the 2nd post. I also was so glad when it was 275 parts because I forgot that it had to be under 700. And onto the build, review style! SSSS- Octopus Asteroid Outpost No one knows when this set was release, but it seems to be a variation of set PPPP half way down this post. The set doesn't have any play features, but let’s get to it. Set: SSSS Name: Octopus Asteroid Outpost Theme: LEGO System / Pirates / Islanders/Space Year: Unknown Pieces: 275 Minifigs: 3 + Octopus Price: $29.99 About .10 cents per part, not a bad price. There is no box known to exist. Overview of the set: This pic just shows everything that the set includes. Minifigs: I have to say, I love the castaways bubble helmet and the male Asteroider. The female Asteroider is very odd to me but I guess Lego I didn't have a good enough head for her. And the octopus: Just a normal ‘space’ octopus. Nothing special here. Castaways Vehicle: I really like the design for this, it appears to be a crowsnest from a larger spacecraft, and it runs on fuel, so he will probably run out of that fast… Asteroid Ship: Really reminds me of the Asteroider Trading Catamaran that Lego I produced. And also resembles the boat in the 2nd post in a spacey way. The set without anything extra. The Final Tally Design: 9/10 Great design overall, but lacks the playablity of a normal set. Parts: 9/10 Most parts are very usefull, but they are still a bit basic. Minifigs: 8/10 Two Asteroiders, one of which, is great, while the female one’s face is a little weird. The pirate is probably my favorite minifig from this set, I just really like him. And the special space octopus…very enjoyable. Playability: 9/10 Still fun to play with, even with no actual features. It can entertain you longer than you think! Overall: 35/40 Overall, a great set! Definitely worth buying building! More Pictures: =================================================================================================================================== PPPP- Octopus Island Outpost No one knows when this set was release, but it seems to be a variation of set SSSS in the 1st post. The set doesn’t have any play features, but let’s get to it. Set: PPPP Name: Octopus Island Outpost Theme: LEGO System / Pirates / Islanders/ Year: Unkown Pieces: 204 Minifigs: 3 + Octopus Price: $24:99 About .12 cents per part, more than the other one! Still pretty good though... There is no box known to exist. Overview: Overview of the set with everything according to what I would think the box art looks like. Minifigs: I really like these minifigs, just for the classic pirates vibe they give. Though, there appears to be a CMF in it making it appear to be a very recent set… + The ‘special normal’ octopus… Castaway's Vessel: It’s a pretty average castaway crows nest, but still it’s a great part of the set. Islanders Boat: Overview of the boat. It really looks like the Enchanted Island boat, but it still has its differences. The Final Tally Design: 9/10 Great design overall, but lacks the playablity of a normal set. Parts: 9/10 Most parts are very useful, but they are still a bit basic. Minifigs: 8/10 Two Islanders, both of them are great! Really remind me of the old sets. The pirate is your average castaway pirate, nothing too special. + The special normal octopus…! Playability: 9/10 Still fun to play with, even with no actual features. It can entertain you longer than you think! Overall: 44/50 Overall, a great set! Definitely worth buying building! Comparison Pictures: Islander statue has 'ears' because the helmet has ears, but on the Asteroid helmet, the helmet doesn't have ears, and that's why the statue doesn't have 'ears' either. More Pics: I will add one more pic of both builds together tomorrow! C & C welcome! ~Beltar

Ahoy! Here is my entry for Category A of the Space Pirates Contest: Space Pirates by -Wat-, on Flickr from left to right: Jimmy Rumbelly: Though Jimmy is as thick as two short planks he is a good hearted and loyal man. He is always drunk from cheap bottom shelf liquor. Z-3BO: Though it is said that he is one of the best protocol robots, he was discharged by the Imperial Army. He later was found by Jimmy Rumbelly on a scrapyard, Jimmy repaired him and since this day he is an inherent part of the captain's crew. Captain Thatch: Tha Captain is a brave man who is feared by the Imperials and space merchants and loved by his crew. It is said that he is a descendant of the famous Captain Blackbeard from the old pirate days. Colonel Winters: Colonel Winters is one of the most cruel and selfish men in service of the Imperial Army and he hates pirates more than everything else. Imperial Juggernaut: The Imperial Juggernaut is a series of battle robots used by the Imperial Army. It's weapons are a flamethrower and a mighty drill that can break through nearly any material. Lady Alice Winters: Alice is Colonel Winters daughter, she is said to be one of the most beautiful and also most dangerous women out in the galaxy. At the age of 16 she decided to run away from home, because she didn't want to become a Lady and marry a rich merchant like her father wanted her to do. She wanted to live the life of a Space Pirate with all it's treasures and adventures, she always wears a black mask to hide her identity. Her favorite weapon of choice is a purple lightsaber that matches her wild purple hair. I hope you like them, C&C welcome! Jonas

Technic SBrick Contest - Results This contest warmed up a bit slowly and it seemed that a limited number of contestants would be competing for prizes and honor. However, closing in on the deadline date, one new entry after the other appeared, resulting in a whopping 43 entries! The overall quality of the builds is truly outstanding. Like some of the previous contests, the 1st and 2nd place where in a neck and neck race. Here are the results of the Eurobricks Jury! 1st Alfa Romeo 4C Spider by Jeroen Ottens Entry Topic - Discussion Topic Jeroen Ottens is the first to win two gold medals! His magnificent rendition of the Alfa Romeo 4C stayed ahead of the fierce competition. 2nd Secret Project by Omikron Entry Topic - Discussion Topic Can't tell much about this project....since it's secret What I can tell, is that it's an awesome Jet with great features. 3rd MAN Transport Truck by TeClem8 Entry Topic - Discussion Topic This might seem like and ordinary truck, but looking at the video reveals how well the crane operates. Outstanding functionality and playability! Bonus Prize I have used a random number generator (random.org) to raffle the bonus prize. And the winner is....#14 Congratulations to D3K A blast from the past will get a modern SBrick touch! Congratulations to all winners and thanks to everyone for joining this great contest I will contact the winners via PM to handle their prizes. The Siege of Alesia by Mark of Falworth, on Flickr Based off of the painting "Vercingetorix Throws Down His Arms at the Feet of Julius Caesar" 1899, by Lionel Noel Royer The Siege of Alesia by Mark of Falworth, on Flickr One of my favorite wars of history was the Gallic Wars which were a series of military campaigns waged by the Roman proconsul Julius Caesar against several Gallic tribes. Rome's war against the Gallic tribes lasted from 58 BC to 50 BC and culminated in the decisive Battle of Alesia in 52 BC, in which a complete Roman victory resulted in the expansion of the Roman Republic over the whole of Gaul (mainly present day France and Belgium). The wars paved the way for Julius Caesar to become the sole ruler of the Roman Republic. Built for Major B's "Recreate History" contest. Enjoy!

TECHNIC C-MODEL CONTEST - RESULTS Lots of people like building C-Models. Working with a limited set of parts brings out the creativity. This resulted in 46 contestants participating in this contest. A lot of cool and original entries, so as usual the voting proved to be hard. Except for the 1st place, that much is clear! Here are the results of the Eurobricks Jury! 1st Wheeled Excavator by TGBDZ Entry Topic - Discussion Topic Our new Latvian member TGBDZ came, saw and conquered! What a way to join the forum. He turned the otherwise mediocre (debatable) 8071 Bucket Truck into a great looking excavator, with lots of functions! 2nd The Dawnbreaker by MajklSpajkl Entry Topic - Discussion Topic From the moment MajklSpajkl posted his Dawn Breaker, it was clear that his entry would end up on the podium. He only had one problem...TGBDZ. Great work nonetheless! 3rd Hybrid Rocket Off-Roader by Doc_Brown Entry Topic - Discussion Topic Oops, he did it again! After a gold and silver medal, Doc_Brown is the first to collect (all) three medals. Maybe it's time to ban Doc. Traveling back and forth to the future seems like cheating Congratulations to all winners and thanks to everyone for joining this great contest I will contact the winners via PM to handle their prizes. See the rest of the story: Season 1 Season 2 Junker's Fee Welcome to Fondor Fondor City Nightlife Many Bothans Died... Well At Least One Fixing to Clear the Mind Thermal Detonator Pot-Pie After I passed the diner it was a short walk to the recruitment office. I told the desk clerk that I wanted to sign up as a Stormtrooper. The clerk took my name and handed me a clip board. After I had finished filling out the 18 pages of questions I handed it back to the clerk who ushered me into a back waiting area. I sat down in the drab room and kept telling myself that I was doing the right thing. Every time I had tried to be a force for good on my own I had ended up hurting people. Yeoman lost his leg. My brother lost his life. And what about all the innocent stormtroopers I had killed along the way? When would the violence end? As I stewed in my thoughts an officer and a stormtrooper entered the waiting area. “Josh, is it?” asked the officer. “I’m Commander Relve and I’ll be overseeing your trial.” I looked at him for a moment sure that I had just misunderstood him. “We’ve been trying to track you down since that incident on Cloud City. How nice of you to just walk into our offices and turn yourself in. Once the clerk entered your name in the system I was altered to your presence. I’m glad you stuck around long enough for me to personally capture you.” I knew that I was trapped. What a fool I had been! I looked toward the door but saw that it was sealed. “Alright, you have me. Now what are you going to do with me?” I asked. “As I said, I will be in charge of your trial. Immediately after will be your execution” Commander Relve responded. “A wonderful justice system you have here” I answered. “Oh yes,” he continued, “we make sure that all those who break Imperial law face the swiftest of justice.” With that he waved his hand and the trooper took me around the corner and motioned me up the ladder to the 2nd floor. I climbed hoping to be able to make a break for it when I got to the landing but I immediately found another trooper waiting for me. He motioned me into my cell and sealed the door behind me. The cell had to be one of the smallest the Empire had on Fondor. I could barely turn around in it. I sat on my bed and started to rethink through my choice. As I mused I felt something in my pocket. I felt around and pulled out a yellow focusing crystal. I stared at it and started to remember a story from my past… In The Past Growing up in Corellia I used to play with a kid named Zack. His father was a farmer who worked hard just to put food on their table. We were sitting in a tree watching his father work on their meiloorun patch. As we had since my father gave it to me, we were debating the origins of my focusing crystal. “I tell you!” Zack exclaimed. “It’s got to be from a lightsaber!” “Don’t you know that the Jedi have been extinct for years?” I responded. “That’s just what the Empire says” Zack answered. “My dad tells me that there are some still some out there, protecting the weak and defending justice!” “It’s far more likely that it’s from a mining laser” was my reply. “There are many mining companies on Corellia.” We continued to debate my crystals origins when two stormtroopers stopped Zack’s dad. They talked to him for a short while before motioning him away from the farm and down the road. We jumped down and ran towards the troopers. “Wait!” shouted Zack. “Where are you taking my dad!?” “Is this the son?” the trooper asked into his helmet. After getting an answer he said, “Alright, you’re going to have to come with us.” “Why?” I asked. “What has Zack done?” “His father has been convicted of treason against the Empire” the trooper answered. “And because of his father’s treason, his son is under arrest also.” “Zack’s family are just simple farmers!” I said. “They haven’t done anything worth arresting them over! Let them go!” “I can’t go against my orders” the trooper replied. “I have to follow what my commanding officer tells me to do.” “But what has Zack done?” I pleaded. “He hasn’t done anything against you! Let him go!” The trooper thought for a moment. He looked at his sergeant taking Zack’s father away and then looked back at us boys. “Alright,” he said. “I can’t do anything for your friend’s dad. But I won’t mention in my report that we found his son. If you can, help him get off this planet. That’s all I can do.” With that he turned and walked away. Zack turned and started crying, knowing he would probably never see his dad again. All I could do was let him know I was there. I had little else I could comfort him with. The Present All those memories came rushing back to me as I looked at the crystal. I put it back in my pocket and thought about my dilemma. Obviously the first thing I needed to do was get out of here. But almost as obvious was that I was mistaken when I thought I needed to sign up with the Empire to do good. Maybe there were some good men behind the Stormtrooper masks. But they weren’t under their own authority. They had to obey orders. If I wanted to stand for justice, then I couldn’t be shackled by the evil that existed in the Empire. But I also didn’t want to kill people needlessly. This was something I was going to have to think about more. OoC: For all of you who were hoping that I was switching to the Empire, I'm sorry to disappoint you but I'm a Rebel through and through! I never meant for people to think I was switching sides, but I'm afraid my character's story twist combined with my awesome new title caused much confusion. However, I'm never one to shy away from using confusion to my advantage A couple more pictures: Lots more can be seen on my flickr.

Voting is Open! In a galaxy far, far away a group of characters we know so well had adventures we don't know about. We've heard about Lando's maneuver at the Battle of Tanab but we've never seen it. We saw Anakin leading Clonetroopers, but did he ever lead Stormtroopers the same way? And we know Anakin and Obi-wan escaped from a nest of Gundarks, but have you ever seen a Gundark? With the upcoming Rogue One movie, we will begin to delve into some of those in-between movie stories. But why wait! Add your own story to the Star Wars Anthology and submit it for this contest. Details There will be two size categories. The small category entries can be between 0-32 studs square. The large category entries can be 32 square studs or larger. Regardless of which size category the entry falls into, all entries must include a named, non-generic Star Wars character that appears in Episodes 1-7. For example, you could not have an entry that only includes generic Stormtroopers, but you could submit an entry that focuses on FN-2199 (TR-8R). All entries must show an actual or fictional event that is set between Episodes 1-7. Fictional events can include material from the EU/Legacy, Clone Wars shows, Rebels shows, or your own imagination! Everyone may enter both categories but with only one entry per category. One entry per member and per category. You can enter both categories with different entries, but you'll be eligible to receive only one prize. Rules One entry per member and per category. You can enter both categories with different entries, but you'll be eligible to receive only one prize. The size restrictions for the small category is 0 - 32x32 studs. The size restriction for the large category is 32x32 studs or larger. The contest will run from 1st May to 1st June, 2016. As long as it's still June 1st somewhere in the world, you can still enter. Entries posted after the deadline will be disqualified. This contest is open to all EB members, even if they joined EB after the contest has begun, with the exception of the Star Wars staff, who are not eligible to win prizes. To ensure these rules have been followed, a link needs to be provided for the LDD file. All entries must be posted as a new topic in the Watto’s Junkyard forum, the title prefixed by, "[Anthology] – category size - entry name". (For example, "[Anthology] – Small – Suppressing the Mandos".) A link must also be included in this thread for your entry to count. For each category EB members will vote for their favorite entry in each category. Prizes First place in the Small Category will win 75140 Resistance Troop Transporter Second place in the Small Category will win his/her choice of either 75133 Rebel Alliance Battle Pack or 75134 Galactic Empire Battle Pack First place in the Large Category will win 75106 Imperial Assault Carrier Second place in the Large Category will win his/her choice of either 75133 Rebel Alliance Battle Pack or 75134 Galactic Empire Battle Pack

The Summer Joust is a castle contest with 6 different categories that is open May 1st-June 30th 2016. There is a large prize pool with prizes for each category plus some individual awards. Categories: Natural Beauty: Show us a beautiful landscape, whether that be a peaceful forest glade, thundering waterfall, or blistering desert. The emphasis is on nature, so man made buildings shouldn't be the focus. Ruins being overgrown, or such like, is permissible. Faction Action: Take an existing Lego castle theme/faction and tell your version of their story with the build. Something like the Dragon Knights catching a dragon, Forest-men robbing the rich,or Crown soldiers defending the royal castle. Any Castle faction is fair game, even Collectible Minifigure Series factions. Historian: Recreate a real historical event, or building from medieval times. Ideas include, battles, castles, manors, houses, treaties, and feasts. Reference what your build is based on. 476-1500 AD is the time-frame we're looking for. Guild Creation: Assemble a team of builders, and create your own faction and develop the buildings, landscape, and lifestyle of this group through multiple creations. Realistic, or fantasy factions are acceptable. Teams should consist of 2-4 members, and a maximum of 4 builds is allowed for the category. So if you have 4 team members, each person would create 1 build. If you only have two members, each can create 2 builds, and so on. Castle Interior(s): Show what goes on inside the castle with an interior scene. Anything from daily life to holiday celebrations, as long as it is inside the castle. Building an interior and exterior in the same build is permissible, but the focus should be on the interior. Vignette: Create any medieval scene you can imagine, only one catch, it has to fit on an 8x8 base. Minimum overhang allowed, for things like tree branches and fig accessories. Some of the prizes that are up for grabs: Check out the full rules and details in the dedicated flickr group, Then get to building some great Castle MOCs!
