  1. I definitely prefer yellow (and grey for the zeds, of course )... if the moderators thinks this is a good idea we should perhaps setup a poll and we could feed the results back to LEGO?
  2. Thank you Bonaparte, your help made a big difference! It feels like it was only yesterday that we met at this BELUG event and talked about CUUSOO! Who would have thought?!
  3. I can't believe this is happening... thank you all for your support and for these great feedbacks. I owe this community to be back into the hobby so nothing of this would have happened without you. I feel a little dizzy right now, and not only because of the Champagne I had for breakfast this morning! I would like however to make a few special thanks... Simon Pegg, you are my hero. Edgar Wright, we need more people like you in the world, seriously. Craig Chenery, you have been my supporter #1 since day one… Thank you for everything you’ve done. Craig is the author of a book every Shaun of the Dead fan should own (actually the book should be included in the Winchester’s box!) it’s called “Blood Splatter”, please check it out here. Eloise from Z Magazine, thank you Eloise for your generosity and help in promoting the project. Dave and Zombie Mutts from Bricks of the Dead, you guys gave me the inspiration to do this. Tim Chipping, reporter at Holy Moly and a Zombie in the movie!, thank you Tim for your continuous support! Erik @ Lego Zombie Apocalypse, your support was instrumental, thanks for everything. Emma from the French Magazine Cinema Teaser, thank you for believing in this insane project. Geoffrey from Desperate Zombie, an awesome French Zombie blog. Brick Pirate, and in particular Oliv’ aka LEGO-Maniac from the French LEGO fan forum, merci à tous pour votre soutien dans cette aventure. Silva Shado from the brick blogger, thank you for your support. Will Chapman from BrickArms, thank you for your support and for helping us make better MOCs! Harmony and everyone on Peggster, official Fan page of Simon, you guys rock! Pixel Fox – dude, I’m starting to believe that there’s nothing we can’t achieve together. All the people who commented and supported the project on CUUSOO. Every blog and site who talked about the project, I cannot list you all here but you have my gratitude, I will update the full list on www.makethewinchester.com (I’ll try to update it asap). Last but not least, thank you to my wife for still being at my side and supportive despite the craziness of all this! I know a lot of people are now eager to know what the next steps are... this is unknown territory to all of us and I am very excited to see what is going to happen! Right now I can only tell you that a CUUSOO rep sent me a message of Congratulations and that they hope to be able to give a first official feedback in a couple of days.
  4. The WINCHESTER !! 10K supporters! We did it ! Oh my, what a ride it has been…, I cannot thank enough everyone who made this possible. Come what may you made my dream come true, thank you!!!
  5. My goodness this is one of the most beautiful MOCs I have ever seen. Man, you don't just do great builds you somehow manage to still improve your skills over time, veery impressive!
  6. This is simply amazing, Simon Pegg is doing a countdown on his twitter!
  7. That's a classy build! Where on earth did you get all these tan lantern pieces? You must have emptied several BL stores!
  8. I want one! Awesome design and impressive technique, good luck in the comp.!
  9. Haha, do not underestimate the geek side of the force ! This is what you get when a tidal wave of Shaun of the Dead fans hits CUUSOO! I am confident that the BTTF or the Western are going to hit the 10k eventually. This is not a race!
  10. Hello everyone… Yesterday evening (27/MAR) Simon Pegg was on TV in the Conan show… and they talked about the Winchester!!!! No kidding! Simon Pegg on TV talking about this MOC! :oh: Check the video here (starts around 3’40”) Unfortunately they did not show the right picture... but Simon tweeted the CUUSOO link shortly after, the supporter count is rising fast! ...and if you have not done it yet… do as he says and go vote for the Winchester on CUUSOO!
  11. It's a no-brainer that every modular house needs its mini version, right? Well... the same goes for the Winchester... check the mini-Win here on EB!
  12. Hello everyone! My friend Pixel Fox and myself are very happy to present you our latest collaboration... the mini-Winchester! The mini-Win - front by Yatkuu, on Flickr The mini-Win - rear view by Yatkuu, on Flickr This build has been designed for the mini modular contest on Toys N Bricks. It is made of 208 bricks - the LDD file can be downloaded here. It is - of course - compatible with the official minis... as illustrated in this insanely cool artwork by Pixell Fox. The mini-Win - the box! by Yatkuu, on Flickr For those of you who do not know it, the Winchester Tavern is a pub featured in the British Zombie comedy “Shaun of the Dead” - here is a reference picture of the original building. Now... we could not present this build and not mention his big brother... the large modular scaled Winchester is a CUUSOO project that we are currently promoting. Here is a shot with the 2 versions next to each other. If you like it (the big one!) you can support it on CUUSOO!
  13. Thanks for the feedback guys!
  14. Brilliant! I can almost smell the roasted meat...
  15. Hello! Today I would like to present you my latest post-apoc MOC... the Undead Situation. The Undead Situation by Yatkuu, on Flickr His name is Cyrus V. Sinclair, the V stands for "don't mess with him"! The Undead Situation is a really cool Zombie novel written by Eloise J. Knapp. Check out my review on Bricks of the Dead! Credits: Dumpster design by Bruceywan. And I looked at many Humvee versions to get the angles and proportions ok – this version by ZetoVince really caught my eye and I re-used some of his design.
  16. Hello everyone... I guess that some of you must be getting tired of the Winchester? Well.. sorry guys but I'm not done, there is still a long road to the 10k supporters and I'm here to stay Ok, so more seriously, I have a big update to share on the project, I would like to introduce to you the Winchester 2.0! Winchester 2.0 - Floors breakdown by Yatkuu, on Flickr Not much has changed on the outside… but it’s in the inside that we have some very cool new cool features. The first version of the build only had a detailed ground floor… actually it did not even have a wall on the side in order to simplify the photography. This new version is now a fully modular house with a detailed interior on every floor. As with any other LEGO modular, the floors can each be removed to allow an easy access and playability. The third floor features a bedroom and a complete bathroom; on the second floor we have a kitchen and a dining room and on the ground floor we have the tavern that has been slightly modified to accommodate the staircase to the upper floors. The build now also has a backdoor. You can check some close-ups of every floor on the website "Makethewinchester".
  17. Thank you for this great feedback! I have indeed heard of a lot of registration problems... like on the day Simon Pegg tweeted the CUUSOO link I had a feedback from a couple of people who were unable to register. If a few took the time to let me know that something was not working I wonder how many just gave up? This is a real problem for project owners. The view counts of the projects are also very interesting to look at: Minecraft: 10,005 supporters - 952,727 views – 1 supporter per 95 views Back to the Future: 6115 Supporters - 142,044 views – 1 supporter per 23 views Western Town: 5,417 supporters - 100,398 views – 1 supporter per 18 views Winchester: 1634 Supporters - 41,665 views – 1 supporter per 25 views I’m sure we could do some nice analysis out of these but I once made a solemn vow never to make stats again in my life so I’ll just highlight that it just seems absurd to me. Of course we would need to know exactly how these views are counted but even if there is a fraction of these numbers that is generated by people who visit the project pages several times it still does not make any sense. Roughly 1 supporter out of 20 views?! Voting is free and takes 20 seconds, how come we don’t get more votes? My feeling is that it’s the registration barrier.. but as time goes by there should be more and more people already registered on the site so in theory new projects should be easier to promote… The Licensing question - totally agree with you and I'll also quote this extract of the CUUSOO Guideline: The topic of the build - Zombies - is a hugely popular theme and LEGO gave a feedback on the project stating that it was "within the realm of the LEGO company brand standards on violence". Again, as you say, for anyone here who believes this project does not stand a chance... please guys take a second to think about it, there are no show stoppers or red flags here - this could really happen so go vote people!
  18. Thanks mate, I really appreciate it! I am positive that there are far more than 10k people out there who would be willing to support this project.. the trick is to let them know about it and in that regard I need all the help I can get.
  19. Minifig: Mechanic Theme: Town Vignette with the fig here.
  20. Hello everyone, I have a big news to share with you today... just as the Winchester secured 1500 supporters on CUUSOO we got our first official comment from LEGO!! I am over the moon! Ok, so they are being careful and so should they but hey, it's a great positive feedback nonetheless! So, what do you think?
  21. Hello everyone! It’s been 2 months now that the Winchester project has been posted on CUUSOO and we have secured close to 1500 supporters… this is amazing, thank you so much! 1500 supporters is a good milestone to switch the second gear... so today my friend Pixel Fox and myself are very happy to share with you the launch of our new website: “makethewinchester.com” ! On this blog you will be able to find additional information on the project, who we are, an overview of the media coverage… In time we will also add instructions and making of details, exclusive info on the movie and much much more… (my signature is only a teaser of what's coming!) For starters, we are very happy to announce a partnership with Z Magazine - the first Magazine for zombies written by zombies! Support the Winchester on CUUSOO and get a free ecopy of the magazine – check all the details here.
  22. That's a really classy version, well done.
  23. Glad to see I'm not the only one with a sick mind around here! I don't know what is the most disturbing, the MOC or the fact that you bought some friends sets to build it! Good creation!
  24. I just got this awesome idea... I just got this great idea... by Yatkuu, on Flickr You think I'm late to the party?
