  1. This project is a prime example of too many of the CUUSOO contributors being absurdly unrealistic. People need to ask themselves one simple question before starting up a new project there: "Apart from appealing to fans, will this idea actually be marketable/profitable/legal for LEGO to sell?"
  2. I've had similar incidents with the recent Kingdoms line. I don't know whether it's due to the softer plastic they use for weapons nowadays or whether it's the hands that are harder - or a combination of both - but it does bug me somewhat. I really miss the old, hard weapons. But unfortunately, it's not an issue with these sets: it's just the way LEGO is these days.
  3. Yeah I did feel it looked out of date and place untill I actually noticed when it was posted... Interesting to see this done long before LEGO LOTR or even the orcs/trolls in Fantasy Castle. And funny to see some similarities to what LEGO finally ended up doing.
  4. Well done! I love those Treebeard mocs people are doing, and can't wait to see LEGO's official spin on it (as I'm sure we'll see one eventually).
  5. Impressive work, especially on the wheel.
  6. Before this review, it was my impression that this set was one of the weakest of the range and I had little interest in it. I must say though, that I have somewhat changed my mind after this splendid review. Still don't know if I'll be getting it, but at least I won't rule it out anymore.
  7. Excellent review, extremely thorough and detailed. CopMike, how about reviewing some Castle sets? As for the actual set... I fail to see any form for appeal what-so-ever and suspect that it will mostly cater to fans of Minecraft. In fact, I won't hesitate to label it as the worst LEGO set I have ever seen. But to each his own.
  8. This is quite simply awesome.
  9. While an interesting effort, I don't think any modding what-so-ever can ever make this horrible ship look good. I simply cannot comprehend what LEGO was thinking here.
  10. Yeah LEGO sets are insanely expensive here in Denmark, dissapointingly so. That's why I myself usually only buy LEGO when 40-50 % off.
  11. Great work, I like how it's not just a pretty building/landscape but also tells a story (or multiple stories, rather).
  12. I really wish those polybags were available here, both of them are great.
  13. I read this earlier, but didn't get it untill now. Well done.
  14. Great use of that Pirate torso, your mariachi's are spectacular.
  15. This is one of the few Harry Potter sets that I would really really like to own, it's so great and different. Thanks for the review. I have one question which someone can hopefully answer: what on earth is the deal with the weird green skeleton torso...?
  16. I think it looks really good as a moc - but that it doesn't really look much like a LEGO set. Still, well-made. What exactly is it supposed to be? Any building in particular?
  17. This is the best reasoning I have ever heard for buying a LEGO set.
  18. Doesn't the sticker say "Guantlet", not "Gauntlet"...?
  19. I agree with this, it's still a good price for what you get.
  20. A wall piece that can be attached to the major "castle" of the theme, along with several "bad guys"... awesome! This is what recent Castle subthemes have lacked, and it kinda takes you back to the 80's. I will be getting one of these along with Helm's Deep, for sure.
  21. Good review, but the set itself doesn't impress me. I voted 'ok', and I doubt I'll be getting this even at a really good sale. I like the cave orcs though. If I were to gift an LOTR set to a child, however, this would probably be a good candidate due to the many play features.
  22. Lovely vignette - in spite of the witch being a fleshie.
  23. I probably shouldn't carry this discussion on, but... you are doing a Spongebob set... aimed for adults? I really don't see LEGO releasing a set in one of their most child-oriented themes without any playfeatures what-so-ever. If I were you, I'd reconsider that standpoint.
  24. Thanks for the additional pictures, it really is a wonderful set.
  25. CUUSOO is a splendid idea that is, sadly, pestered with ideas that are unrealistic and/or immature. Too few people actually consider the business side from LEGO's perspective before submitting an entry and merely seem to either think with their raging fandom - or believes that it's a quick and easy way to earn money.
