Hey, what can we say, it just sounds like the natural counterpart to the Luke fig. I would've personally preferred something a bit more esoteric, but final sales of the book itself will confirm or deny whether or not it was a hit. There's no question the first encyclopedia would've barely sold a fraction of its sales if not for the Luke fig.

Okay, I've had some not-so-nice words about it... but after those pics, I feel like I owe you an apology, Hillside House. They threw in a lot of little things to kick up the playability-- of them all, I love using the 'tribal hunter' feathers in silver as hedge clippers. So very clever, TLG... LOVE the Creator line!

I'd love to know what TLG's sales projections are for this set... it goes without saying that they've done the marketing for it prior to greenlighting its release, and they must have concluded that they're going to sell enough to turn a tidy profit despite all of the initial bricks value plus production and packaging costs. BUT, we're easily looking at a $300+ USD set, so how many units does TLG expect to move?? The fact that they're cranking out one of these enormous SW sets every year should be all the proof you need that TLG recognizes the AFOL as a primary source of its business. A set like this is neither designed, released or even promoted as a set for kids-- and if they weren't sure they'd sell enough, they'd have never released it in the first place. Personally, I've given up on the big ticket sets-- that money's better put to use for home and family. But even if I wasn't, I'd probably still pass on this one. It just doesn't have the 'worth even that much money' quality that the Death Star has. But, on the other hand I guess my entire argument is entirely speculative until we get the actual price tag.

Just saw this... What's the word I'm looking for to describe that thing? Oh yeah... BIG.

It's strange that they'd hold this one for a later release and/or exclusive-- I'd have thought perhaps Prison Transport or something might have packed a little more punch. Even with the Bank & Money Transfer, I'm really looking forward to adding this chase car to the squad! PS-- Almost forgot, Hey Look, I'm a KNIGHT!!

I'd love to see someone at TLG analyze your amazing model and give us a ballpark MSRP price that it would cost retailers as a result. That's gotta be a $400 set right there.

Ah yes, the amazing ACPin strikes again! I'm sure I'm wrong, but this is the first non-SW thing I've seen you do since the cruise ship!

Nice score, Grogall!! Hillside House is a bit underwhelming, but maybe I should hold out making judgement until we see a good review on the set. On the other hand, the lighthouse is outstanding!

If I may... the stone tower seems a bit out of place. Otherwise excellent stuff! I spend a lot of time hanging out with voodoo-witches and their hovels look very much like this one. *No, not really.

I think, even just visually speaking, kids are more interested in colors and out-of-this world character designs over military accuracy. Imagine that you're an 10-yr old boy whose mom takes him to the toy store. What's gonna grab your attention more: A UFO set with lime green and purple details being piloted by an equally colorful alien creature, maybe even one with its brain showing, or some drab olive or gunmetal tank with a crew decked in black. As enticing as it sounds to us, chances are that's off a boy's radar. Lego definitely knows what it's doing with this theme, and even the blue and trans-yellow scheme of the humans will help to attract attention. I think Alien Conquest is going to obliterate Ninjago when they count the beans at the end of the year, and color scheme will have played a part in it.

Wow... that's a whole lot of test tubes! Personally, it's all about hockey players and vikings once the initial set is completed. -
Wow-- what a unique solution. Looks like you're really on point with such an instantly recognizable structure. Well done!

4-LOM and Zuckuss.... quickly becoming the Holy Grails of remaining never-released OT figs. Throw the Boussh Leia in there and I'd say you have the holy trinity of unreleased OT minifigs.

Got one today... Frank's monster is indeed best discovered by looking for that headpiece... it actually feels like a molar tooth cap or something like that. Actually what iced it for me was feeling the little 'bangs' on the front of the head, sharp little triangular shapes you could pick out even through the bag. As for the figure skater, if I end up getting a few more hockey players in my quest for the girl, it's really just a win-win. -

It doesn't make sense... but for whatever reason I'm having the hardest time feeling out a Frankenstein's Monster!! Thought I had one today but then realized after the purchase there's a Werewolf in there (I know I know, I don't know how I managed that one). That and the Figure Skater seem to be the two I'm having the first time identifying... -
Kids are gonna love this theme more than the adults! I think these Alien Conquest sets are gonna sell like hotcakes!

Gotta say, these 'bumps' have been the hardest to read yet. It's just plain ol' quicker to feel 'em up-- and it's no accident by TLG that the easiest to feel are possibly the least wanted: the skateboarder, the geisha, the gnome and the surfboarder. -
I'll probably get a little backlash on this one, but the Naboo Fighter was probably my favorite ship design of the entire prequel trilogy. Been awhile since TLG released one, and they didn't really disappoint as far as I can tell. Nice little model right there.

Saw that myself... it also hypes the nugget that "Over 20 new sets will be available on May 10th!" Certainly I'm betting the majority of those will be Harbour, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Alien Conquest. Works for me.

Confirmed purchases here on the East Coast. LOVE the Hazmat suit guy, but my favorite right now is clearly the hockey player. Thanks LEGO for finally getting them out to us! -
I'd go Fire Brigade... wish I had the change to put down for it. Probably my favorite of all the modular buildings, to be honest.
-
Love the pointed mask helm in the Dragon Knights armor... it just looks so cool. I think $20USD is certainly worth this set.

Another fig that seems easy to overlook is the cavegirl-- really interesting printing on the torso and leg assembly, and the hair is really unique. I could easily see TLG using this again but with a little bow to clip in, perhaps for a little girl figure. -

I agree, the snowboarder is clearly the weakest link in this series. But, on the other hand, I guess it's a pretty nice new torso for the City collectors. -

Thank you as always, Prateek, for the glorious pics. Am I the only one who's excited about the Eskimo Fisherman??
