  1. Beyond outstanding!! Might be the first true thing I'd seriously push to see actualized through the CUUSOO process. LOVE this in my city!!
  2. Personally, I'd love to see the City line produce a new Gas Station/Car Wash in 2013. I wasn't into City in 2007 when they released the epic 7993 Service Station... my city's got all these cars and nowhere to get gas!! Plus no mini market for these cops to hang out in and flirt with the employees! I could definitely also see TLG put out another edition of the 'Great Vehicles' series. Some things I'd like to see: An Ice Cream Truck! This could be an amazing set full of great little details, including the popsicles and the butcher's hat from CMF Series 6. And if the set came in short of the price/piece range, they could fill it out with a small playground and a few kids! A TV News Crew Van. I've seen several people here calling for one, and although I have the great 6553 Crisis News Crew in my collection, I'm sure it'd be a welcome addition to the landscape. Besides the van itself, they could either add a copter or perhaps a full complement of crew, including cameraman, boom mike operator, driver and of course the reporter. A new Cement Mixer. Also missing from my growing City collection is the 7990 Cement Mixer set, which is pretty great... but could certainly be improved upon with today's new pieces and focus on aesthetics. I'd be all over this, to be honest. A School Bus! Yes, we've had a few buses by now, but never the traditional yellow and black school bus we've all grown up with on our way to and from school. Load it up with kids and a driver and you've got yourself a winning set right there! And if all else fails, throw in a crossing guard with an orange vest outside to keep the little ones safe! A Car Carrier Transport, perhaps with a few convertibles in transit. A I know that they've done it in Duplo form, but outside of 1996's Indy Transport I don't remember ever seeing one done right in System form. Might be hard to get this to conform to the same price point/piece range, and I'd rather they bumped it to a $29.99USD range to get it just right. Otherwise, I just hope TLG keeps things fresh and exciting in 2013! Try something new, do something you've never done before... and keep things CIVILIAN! Build that school. Give us a veterinary clinic. How about a market of some sort? As my good friend Lightning Tiger said, consider a hardware store, stuffed to the gills with all the tool molds acquired over the years and featuring that brand new beautiful wheelbarrow. That's my 2 cents!
  3. Built this yesterday-- it seems to be a much more compact and efficient build than the old Recycling Truck, but for some reason I just seem to like that one more. Still, money well spent-- wish they did a new torso design for the crew, but otherwise thumbs up!
  4. BOTH! Seriously though-- Earth Defence HQ is my pick for Set of 2011. And yet, in my mind AFOL is one of those true YOU HAVE TO BUY THIS sets. Both are epic, and Toy Shop is cheaper-- but you can probably find Alien Conquest sets on clearance right now if you do your homework, so it'd be about the same price. I got mine during Bricktober for $67. Good luck!
  5. To say this was an AWESOME REVIEW is just unfair to the word 'awesome.' I'd be asking it to do more than it is capable of doing. Seriously, this may have been the SINGLE BEST REVIEW I HAVE SEEN since I started frequenting Eurobricks, and I love reading reviews. This is a proud example of what is so fantastic about this site. Thanks and enjoy your set, harmacy!
  6. Just got this yesterday, and what surprised me is, oddly enough, the Batpod /cycle thing in Bag 1. There's something about every image I've seen of it, that just failed to do it justice. Now that I have built and held the vehicle in my hand, it's pretty great! A bit oversized, and kind of boxy, but it does look really cool and has a Dark Knight-era Batman feel to it. Plus the set supplies an extra navy blue cheese wedge that REALLY looks good on the stud just in front of the handlebars, which I'd suggest to anyone. Now, whether or not this vehicle fits in with the 60's TV show aesthetics of the Funhouse is another story... but all in all a FANTASTIC set!
  7. Just got my Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape, and now I have a question for you all... How wrong would it be to swap the arms & legs on my Red Robin? I have plenty of green from my Forestmen harvest during Bricktober, and could easily swap out Robin's red arms to give him the more iconic look. But then the figure is no longer as it was out of the box. If I had a second Robin, say from the Batcave, then I'd have already done it... but both in terms of collecting and sheer principle, do I have to keep this guy as is?
  8. This is ridiculous-- I'm honestly contemplating whether the original post was just an attempt at getting the boards all riled up. AND I know that he/you is/are following the responses very carefully, and probably enjoying every second. As for me, I think the shift in design has never been about making things easier to build, but instead rather a combination of a.)limiting set counts to keep hitting specific price points in the marketing plan, and b.) just an overall change in TLG's aesthetic approach. SNOT techniques and special pieces make the designs look more streamlined, less blocky-- which both attracts new builders and alienates old ones at the same time. As someone else said, however-- just look at TLG's bottom line. They're turning record profits, so I wouldn't expect this philosophy to change.
  9. Shot of my Highlander clan coming together nicely: Becoming curious about Friends hairpieces...
  10. Did a little experimenting with the Romans and Lego plumes: Of them all, I'd say far and away my favorite for the Roman is the three-pointed plume to the far right. I've decided to keep that for their commander and leave the other troops empty (I think there's three more offscreen). Also worth pointing out-- I'm typically hopelessly careful with pieces, especially the small ones, but I actually broke a beloved forestman's red single feather plume by putting it into the Roman's helmet. Thing just kinda caught funny-- be careful.
  11. That's clearly not the intended vehicle for the Skrull stand-in. Given the color and size, I would be shocked if that motorcycle isn't deployed from the back of the Quinjet... and maybe that's where we see Col. NICK FURY make his entrance...???
  12. Sorry for not thanking you for the pics earlier! Can you get us a close-up of the Hospital itself? Any official confirmation that this is the 2012 set?
  13. If you look in the top left of this picture, we can clearly see a Rescue Copter of some sort, presumably part of the Hospital set? There is what appears to be a helipad of sorts (2 1x6 tiles or something) above the Emergency Entrance to the right of the hospital building to the right of the police station. I was hoping they'd do the MediVac Helicopter as a separate set, leave more brick count to the Hospital itself. Looks like the typical helicopter template, really... Also looks like a vehicle or something is able to slide out of the back? EDIT: You can also see part of its front nose and left side HERE.
  14. In my perfect world, it'd be released under the CREATOR line, allowing for some flexibility. The way I see it, in Creator they could knock out special interest-type stuff independent of or perhaps only parallel to specific themes, allowing TLG greater flexibility with regards to timeframes of themes or product lines. In a REALLY perfect world, we also get that thing for $99.99 USD-- but that's probably being unrealistic at best.
  15. If I bought this set, it'd be for one thing only-- that magnificent MENPO faceplate! Outstanding accessory!!
  16. I'd say Emporium or Joust. I own none of those sets... but I'd take one of the two.
  17. Some interesting news about a potential 4207 Car Park set on Amazon China, courtesy of Brickset:
  18. Yeah, but it won't be the Marvel Nick Fury-- it'll be Lego Mace Windu with an eye patch. Hrrmmph.
  19. The differences between the old and new Jabba, and the Gamorrean Guard as well, is comparable to old vs. new Ewoks. The molds were great, no question about that, but they were all monochrome, which gave them the illusion of being incomplete. Especially when standing next to figs with multiple accessories, such as Endor Luke or something like that. Bring on the paint jobs, if you ask me... That's the least Lego can do for $119.99 USD!!!
  20. What is that piece of red machinery in front of the house?? At first I thought it was a lawn mower, but ON THE BEACH?
  21. Just thought of something-- How on earth could they maintain this theme? For so many themes that have come and gone recently, Monster Fighters might be the most finite in terms of concept and brand extension. I'd be shocked if it goes beyond one wave.
  22. Man... awesome MOC and a great throwback to memories of what Star Wars USED to be. Thanks and keep up the great work.
  23. Beautiful sets, no question about that. LOVE THE MINI-CAPES ON THE HOBBITS!! But with all of the other themes swirling about, not to mention the exorbitant price of these sets, I think I'm gonna probably pass on just about all of them. Unfortunately, the two sets I was most enthused about, the Mines of Moria and Attack on Weathertop, are ridiculously overpriced. Between these and the Star Wars sets, I'm beginning to think TLG is calling out all the AFOLs to put their money where there begging mouths have been for so long.
  24. Series completed today, and already up to 5 Highlanders. They look awesome if you have some extra long hair pieces to spare-- especially liked the Series 2 Popstar hair on the Highlander body. Also made myself a Clan leader with the Caveman hair from Series 1 and a brown cape. My Celtic army is well underway!
  25. Outstanding work so far... has that real-life adventure look to it, and love how dedicated you have been to accuracy. Wonder if you've been listening to the as you build it? Haha
