Haha, nice job with the monkey :) the whole thing turned out great. Regarding the windows, you've probably got the wrong kind of glass - I'm guessing you'll need these if you're going to make them fit.
-
I'd definitely go with Pet Shop, it fits very well with what you've already got. Tower Bridge looks great - mine is still in the box - but will be more of a standalone piece.

I like them, as I said on Flickr, and my favourite is the orange coupé. I actually think the wedge plates work well as a bonnet instead of that 'hood piece' you mention - it makes it a bit different. And although you based it on the coast guard pickup, it's a very nice evolution and works very well the way you've built it. The small car is nice as well, but I'd add some rear lights to it (just swap two of the 1x2 red plates for 1x1 plates in red and trans-red) in addition to the brake light. The muscle car is my least favourite - for me, it works from the windscreen forward, but I'm not a big fan of the rear, it's a bit too blocky compared to the rest of these MOCs. Room for improvement :) Good idea to use the black tiles for burnout marks! I'd never have thought of that.

I kept searching for a farm set with number 9637, thinking that it was maybe a Dacta set that I didn't know about. Then I realised that you probably meant 7637... :)

Pet Shop, Fire Brigade and Grand Emporium are all €200 in Norway. That probably means that Town Hall will be around €250...

That's possible, but keep in mind as well that there's no piece count on European boxes.

I've really enjoyed seeing this come together, and I love the end exterior result, it's great. Looking forward to the interior!

It's quite nice, and I like the bay window and the back yard. I agree that the top floor is too tall, though. I'd reduce the height by one row of slopes, especially since the top floor appears to be just an attic - it doesn't really need to be full height. I'm also not quite sure about the grey slopes, why not go black all the way?

Did you look at the first picture...?

Just for the record, as you keep bringing up that black cowcatcher, and it seems some of you aren't aware of this: It first appeared in this set two years ago. There are quite a few of them available on BL, from just around $2 a piece :)

Great job. Incredible attention to detail. I couldn't tell one type of steam locomotive from another, but I know a good build when I see one, and the ones coming from you tend to be just that :)
-
I think I'd probably like it more if it were another colour, but apart from that I like it, and particularly the interiors. The tiled ground floor is very nicely done, colourful and cheerful :)

Great review. I'm definitely getting this one as soon as it's released here. Thank you so much for that piece of information. I've wondered whether this could be easily mended, and now I know what I'll be doing :)

Wow. It looks fantastic! I dug up a picture of the real thing, just to see where you're going with this, and I see you've still got a way to go: It's incredibly accurate, and it's going to look great when finished. Keep up the good work :)

One word: Yum! I like the tray with three levels (my grandmother's got one just like that, and it reminds me about Christmas treats) and those pink sweets look delicious.
-
Yep, congratulations to the worthy winners! Lots of great entries this year.

I think my favourite is 10181 Eiffel Tower 1:300. But it's not in the poll. If you're including the Taj Mahal, you can't exclude the Eiffel Tower and the Tower Bridge...

I'd say Duplo... there are several kinds of Duplo figures.

This is very well done. Although the curtains might work better in another colour, I like the simple way you made them - and the bed is a nice build. All in all, you've managed to capture this scene quite beautifully. Hat's off!

It's getting ever better - so inspiring to see such a huge layout being built from the ground up :) Best of luck with your kid, and with the learning curve about autism.

Yes, they are very popular - among AFOLs. And that's a big part of the picture. No matter how you look at it, AFOLs are always going to be a marginal part of Lego customers. The company is making toys, and children will always be their main market. No matter how many AFOLs bought these new sets you're suggesting, Lego would depend upon a lot of children wanting them as well. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see such releases, but I think the chance is very low as long as the last attempt failed - it's all about profit :)
-
That's very good, especially for a first attempt. I like the stairs out front and the window on the first floor, and I don't particularly mind the flat roof. Good luck with the next one - there will probably be one, now that you've been bitten :)
-
I like it a lot! I agree about the part above the windows on the tan floor, but the windows are lovely. And the dark green curved EN slopes do look great. I'd tile the ground floor if I were you - but then again I'm not :)

Isn't the Emerald Night already discontinued?

I agree with sonicstarlight; please go on! You're good at this, your full-scale modulars (which are all lovely) are instantly recognisable even when shrunk :)
