Why is the Series 1 Zombie so expensive?
samlr replied to Transparency for Effect's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Exactly, it's those. Not easy to use in a post apocalyptic scene though ...- 43 replies

Why is the Series 1 Zombie so expensive?
samlr replied to Transparency for Effect's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Probably because zombies minifigures are rare and great to build post-apocalyptic scenes. Here are all the ones I've heard of : - Collectible minifigure Zombie - Zombie in reddish brown suit - Gunner Zombie - Quest master zombie - Yeoman zombie - Zombie driver - Zombie bride (only female zombie and very expensive !) - Zombie chef - Zombie groom The prices usually go up when they are not produced anymore.- 43 replies

Your problem is not new and not so rare. I opened a topic about this problem occurring on set 10221. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=94737#entry1873729 You can contact TLC and ask them for free replacement parts. If everybody does this, I hope they'll end up by reacting and finding a solution to this ! SamLr

Some persons seem to have solved the magnet problem using other types of fixation like technics parts or parts with towballs. I will probably use one of these two solutions. Did anyone here try ?

Hi Prince Manic, Using LDD in advanced mode is a great way to design MOCs. It give's you an idea on how your creation will look like. It helps you try different techniques and choose your favorite. And you can easily export the part lists. As an advise, I would tell you not to try to stick perfectly to reality. A blueprint will give you an idea of the proportions but don't try to reproduce them exactly. Play with them. For instance, it's better to have two nice looking windows then three weird stuff on a wall. You can also remove or replace some details which are hard to recreate. Eurobricks is a nice source of inspiration. You'll find here a lot of great techniques and ideas ! Don't forget to keep an eye an BL. You'll avoid using non existing or very expensive parts. Good luck and don't forget to share ! SamLr

I called Customer Service to tell them about this problem. They asked some information and if I could send them the broken parts for analysis. They just called back to have the box Id. It seems they are taking this seriously ! :-) Thank you for your messages !

The broke just sta They broke just standing there. I checked others set, especially set 10175, assemble 5 / 6 years ago and stored the same way. None of the 40 clips broke. I've noticed something however ; the clips on 10175 and 10221 both have mold number 2555 but the shape is different : Clip from set 10175 on the left / Clip from set 10221 on the right On set 10175 they have bars and not on set 10221. I can understand that mechanical stress and temperature variations can sometimes break a part. But here it's 13 of them and they are quite recent. I am wondering if the change of mold or maybe of plastic is not responsible for these parts braking down ?

Yes it's annoying ! And it doesn't seem to happen on older sets like 10175 (hopefully). I've contacted S@H and ordered some spares, hope it will be enough ...

It was assemble about 2 years / 2 years and a half ago.

Hello everybody, I just decided to clean my Super Star Destroyer and guess with what I ended up ? It my first broken parts in 25 years ... Is it a known problem ? A solved problem ? Something I did wrong ? Did someone else face the same problem ? Thank you ! SamLr

Can you buy online from lego and take it back to store
samlr replied to SMC's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Hello, the best think would probably be to call them. There after sale service's number is free. I'd be curious to know. -
Hello Jeremy, This seem to be parts of Set 8018 Armored Assault Tank. Yoda is present in this set, not the "lizard" bounty hunter ^^. Its probably Bossk you can find on set 10221 Super Star Destroyer or 8097 Slave I. Best regards, Samlr

I had a broken piece in a new set once. They send a new one for free, 4 weeks after I've contacted them.

Really nice creation ! Working on a 40.000 part MOC myself, I can easily imagine the time and energy you've spent designing your SSD. I'm sure you'll find a way to build it for real ! Good luck ! -
Really nice creation. Love the lettering ! You've made custom stickers ?
