From disassembled sets, spare parts, lego Pick A Brick, lego stores brick walls, lots of bricks on ebay/garage sells/markets/etc..., Bricklink.com, BrickOwl.com, and other online brick stores. (It's all I can think of) :-)

Or it´s an investor doing a good placement ...

[LDD][MOC][Micro] B-Wing - X-wing - Y-Wing - Millennium Falcon
samlr replied to samlr's topic in LEGO Star Wars
As Lego Fett said, I am designing the Redemption, the Nebulon-B frigate you see in the movies. It's quiet long to design, 400 hours of work already and a little bit less to go  Here is all there is to know about it : -------------------------------------------------------------- This is the new version of the Falcon : More solid, less part count, the cockpit a has been redesign, there is an axle to attach it to the Nebulon-B and Atlas comment has been taken in account (thank you) PS : there is a version without the axle, I'll share the plans (or lxf file if I don't have time ...) -
G'day mate, welcome on Eurobrick ! I liked the 42009 too. Have you seen the 42030 Volvo L350F ? It will probably be my next Technic. Where are you in Australia ? I'm in Palmwoods, QLD for the moment.

The floodlights are not visible when off -
Yes, it is a very complex ship. And you can add constraints due to the scale, the numerous details, the curves (some impossible to recreate). I personally also added a building price limit; 300euros (I am at 7000 parts for the moment ...). I couldn't find any instructions for building this ship, now, I know why !
-
The front already took a lot of the work and there are several things I'm not satisfied with. Same with the back actually ... It's a much more complex design I would of initially thought, but well, I am not stopping now !!!!!! You've designed a Nebulon-B escort frigate ?

After 2-3 hundred more hours of work, I hope :-)

Thanks for your comments :-) I completely agree with you, the 2x2 are too big. The problem is that if I put 1x1, I have to replace the 6 back ones too and I don't like the way it looks ... I'd like to make a try with the stickers of the set 7965 (or maybe custom stickers :-( ). Why transparent ? I do have a A-Wing (not completely my design) but no Tie fighter yet: I haven't thought about a micro space battle. It might need some bigger ships ! -
Let us call this teasing :-)

Thanks ! Actually, it's a bit different. The goal was to get close to the 1 stub per 2 meters ratio. Here is how it's built : -
lol, wow, this is a really nice display !

Yes ... It's sad ... However I don't know if Lego made in china are lower quality. I noticed the quality was going down, but that started before they opened the factory in china.

Lego pieces not sticking together right.

It might work depending 1) on the slight variation of size and if 2) you can force them to stick togetter. With some of my parts the plate juste jump away, with other, it holds. -

Yeap ... Had the same problem as you, just yesterday. I think that there is no margin on the bottom like there would be on the sides of a brick. So that build is "illegal". You should find another solution. It's always a good idea to check if what works on LDD, does in IRL. -
You would rather use pins without friction to connect moving parts and with friction with fixed parts. The pins with friction will hold much more strongly. The ones without may get loose, especially if you have a lot of constraint on them. With physical part, you would really feel the difference. On your example, if you have just little constraint on the direction of the pins, they will break loose. Same thing if you have to much constraint perpendicularly to the arms and the pins, the connectors will bend due to the splits on there ends and they will break loose. So yes, you would be better off using pins with frictions :-). I never use the other ones.

We had a party at home with 5 kids coming so I decided to order a big lot of Duplos so they wouldn't play with my stuff ... Anyway, I go on BL and find a seller who was selling cheap Duplos, order them and receive then. I think he'd been smoking near them for like 20 years, the smell was horrible. My partner told me to just throw them away. I had to wash them 2 times in the dish washer and let them in bleash for a hold day to take of the smell. At least they where clean for the kids :-)
-
The deal was not that good, globally it would just have saved me the shipping and going through BL (which I'll probably do sooner or later). Anyway, the problem is solved :-)
-
Yes your are right, with a good lightning, you can see that the arms, belt and legs have some kind of very thin and transparent decals. It's well done actually. I don't remember who produced very nice custom Ghostbuster arms with logo, but they used the same technic.
-
Yes. After searching, It seems to be a 2006 or 2009 Boba Fett minifig with custom prints on the legs, belt and arms. :-( It should not be a problem bringing it back. Thanks for your answers :-)
-
Love your answer ! I - did purchase that thing - because it´s real Lego, because the seller has a big reputation, because I can go back to the shop tomorrow, because it was possible to have it for a reasonable (not low) price for the market, and because I want it (the original) ! To be honest when I bought it, I was quite sure it was not authentic but I had a some doubts. Now, I'd rather buy a non authentic and bring it back then miss an authentic ... However, I don't know what - that - is ?

Hello everyone, I've just bought an Boba Fett minifigure with printed arms. It was sold by a very serious seller as being the Boba Fett minifig from the Cloud City set 10123. The thing is, the printings are not exactly the same as on the ones I find on BL / Brickset and others ... I'm worried it might be a custom/replica/fake : Can any of you experts out there please tell me if I am right be worried or not ? You can find other pictures here : https://www.flickr.c...57652036751409/ Thank you !

Love it ! You've made the interior too ?
