The standard knight is really a standard blue and grey knight minifig suited for army building and just like those already available in the current line of sets, even the cheaper ones. It even has the flared silver helmet with nose guard and not one with a flip-up visor but I think he comes with the extra armor piece with the crown emblem.

Yes, castle will be very nice. Watch out for big greens trolls pulling battle wagons and little trolls being their boss. Also, the dwarf's mining is astonishing. Very nice set (if you do not care about the new dark blue and reddish brown brick combination) with excellent minifigs and finally beards that match the LotR Gimli character. I think the beards had 2 little knots on each end and were available in red, brown and black. That is what caught my eye. The whole new line has that typical Lord of the Rings atmosphere if you ask me. Also, the impulse line will include 2 different castle characters, a fully armed knight with weapons and a grey (good?) wizard with magic wand and some other accessories wearing a black hood and cape. He had a white star pattern on his chest and legs. Maybe he is the counterpart of the evil red wizard with the Ogel face. Instead of making a minifig pack with 5 guys, TLC decided to sell knights and other minifigs per piece so you can decide how large your army must be. And this new impulse line will most likely be sold in supermarkets too. Instead of a post office, it looks more like a library or town hall if you ask me. This is not critics of course since the building is excellently done and I like it a lot but I always tend to think a Lego post office is usually a smaller building with all sorts of colorful accents like the 6362 set.

The yellow beach house will not include a palm or little boat. It is not exactly a beach house but a small house like older sets such as 6365 and 6370 for instance. The dealer catalogue named it beach house for some undisclosed reason. I recall that this house once again is part of the Creator line so there is no sign of a new leisure / Paradisa style line. The 2008 catalogue only included pictures of sets available during the first months. It did not include a post office or cargo ship. The SW sets included a new yellow Jedi Starfighter, that Rogue thing, a dropship with a few clone trooper or stormtrooper minifigs (I always have trouble keeping them apart) and a hallfire droid set. But who knows what the 2008 Fall and Winter catalogue will bring. If the new post line sells well, I can imagine that Lego would expand it. No, I only had a short peek inside the book and there was so much news to see that I forgot to look into details such as torso designs and so on. Sorry! The truck looks a bit like the 6348 Surveillance Squad set. A small tractor with a semi trailer if memory serves me correctly. The combination will be in green and white just like the big cargo plane. The color scheme is best compared to the colors used by the German police (Polizei). Again, I forgot to look at the details of the fork lift.

I was at my local Lego supplier this afternoon and got a sneak preview in the 2008 Lego dealer catalogue. The new line includes very nice sets such as a yellow beach house, a small postal van with a red mailbox on a stand, a small classic yellow post cargo plane similar in size and style compared to the 7903 helicopter and the 4032 airline promo planes. The big cargo plane is a bit disappointing as it does not seem to be different from the 7893 big passenger plane except the cargo plane will be green mostly with some white accents. The cargo truck is OK but not that great. The new 2008 police station will be a major improvement and there will also be a new mobile command truck similar to 6348 surveillance squad. Also, I saw the small pictures of the new Lego impulse line. As expected, each small box will contain 1 minifig and matching accessories, such as a police man with a dog and some more stuff, a wizard with a magic wand, a knight with armor and weaponry and so on. Also, for those who want to know, the 2008 castle and SW lines will be more than excellent. And there is of course Indiana Jones that we all heard about. Bad news for many wallets I am afraid... :'-(
  6. I guess the person at the counter decides for how much they sell them. Alex paid only
  7. Don't worry. Rumour has it that the small 7602, 7873 and 7875 Creator sets surfaced in Sniggles Biscuits cookie packages in Coles supermarkets in Australia. And in the US these sets are available being part of the Mr. Magorium's Wonder Imperium set. They were available here a couple months ago in Europe at C1000 supermarkets and they seem to have gone now. So, Lego still makes the sets and subsequently introduces them in different parts of the world as soon as they find a suitable partner (such as a restaurant or a cookie factory) to team up with. Unfortunately, the Quick Magic Box promotion only lasts until October 5 so there is only about 2 weeks left before it all ends. Perhaps it is possible to recreate the set (minus building instructions of course) with pieces coming from different sets. As far as I know, there are no unique pieces included so it should not be too hard to build.
  8. Most likely, the person who has it must have good connections with Lego or someone inside the company. Same goes for the trans- clear, black and red ghost shrouds. These different colors are prototype molds and they are used to check whether the final mold in a different colour will have (minor) flaws or imperfections. Imperfections on the ABS material are apparently best seen on trans-clear, red and black pieces. I think that after they are of no use anymore, they will be discarded or given to people who visit the factory or to employees. Some will go in collections, others will be sold on the world wide Lego market which will give the seller a tidy sum in case they are offered for sale on BL for instance. Just my 2 cents.
  9. I snagged all 4 sets today at the Quick Restaurant near Schoten (near Antwerpen). A few days back I already managed to get 4991 Police Helicopter and 4938 Firetruck in Quick Namur (Avenue de la Gare). In the Namur restaurant they had no other sets available at the time so they told me and I fell for that. :-/ In Schoten, the female manager was very helpful. She explained that they only had the 4992 Fire boat available at the counter as they wanted to avoid kids asking the people at the desk for certain sets which would cost too much time when people are waiting to be served. Tomorrow, they will have a different set, so basically they have some sort of rotation system which changes per day to keep the customers happy and which allows them to get a new set each time they return and order the Magic Box meal. When I asked for the other sets which were not at the counter, she immediately went to the storage room to get them for me. How nice! :-$ And I must admit, the 4991 Police Helicopter, 4992 Fire boat and 4938 Firetruck are quite simple but packed with useful elements. They fit the current Lego City theme in an excellent way since Lego always has police stations, fire stations and hospitals as part of the line. :-| The 4937 Life Guard tower is admittedly the best one since it is so different compared to what is available in regular toy stores these days. It brings back that classic Paradisa and leasure feeling of the sets that were made prior to 1998 which has been a neglected subtheme for many years. Let's hope Lego will make more leasure and beach sets and if they do, they are definitely going into the right direction. *y*
  10. How about this one: 6338 Hurricane Harbor or if you are into cops or need some beach protection: 6540 City Pier Police And this new promo set (available through Belgian and French "Quick" diner restaurants in their Magic Box children's menu) is an excellent add-on as well: 4937 Lifeguard Tower
  11. How about 6543 Sail 'N Fly Marina or 1721 Sandypoint Marina (US only value pack with 3 sets)? Last mentioned set is an excellent Paradisa add-on. Also, there are smaller Divers Theme sets such as 6556 Scuba Squad (small Paradise style van with rubber boat) and 6557 Treasure Hunters (with a coaster) which are great to match with the beach and Paradisa theme.
  12. How about those windows used in Spider-Man 4856 Doc Ock's Hideout?
  13. Overall very nice work. My advice would also be to put the rope bridge at the same level as the other tower, either by lowering the bridge one level or by making the second tower higher. Indeed, it looks very official, more or less a combination of 6244 Armad Sentry, 6267 Lagoon Lock-Up and 6265 Sabre Island.
  14. Yes, it is a common problem. The person that first reviewed this set experienced the same. Also, his set was missing one of the instruction booklets. For that, check out the Lego Theater / Tie Army forums. Also, Lego direct has the Obi-Wan Episode III head inventoried as the head meant to be used for Qui-Gon. So if you are looking for a replacement part through Lego, you will not get the well-known yellow Qui-Gon head in flesh tone. You might also want to check BrickLink and notice that the new Qui-Gon is inventoried the way you found it in your set.
  15. About 2 weeks ago, I picked up a 7664 Tie Crawler at TRU in M
  16. I own most of them already and I have a different promo set that I would not mind parting with. Link: 1548 Stena Line Promo Ferry It is - of course"* cough* - MISB and never opened! It dates from 1992 and is an all brick boat with stickers and without minifigs. I am not going to answer PMs asking how much I need for the set but I am willing to listen to serious offers from fellow EB-ers that are willing to buy or trade for it. The original box is in excellent shape. Also, there are these 1831 Maersk Line trucks that I think have not been mentioned before. They are similar to the 2149 Color Line ones. And there is also a nice 1029 Tine Milk Delivery truck. Unofrtunately, these are not available on cruises or flights. I am mostly interested in: - 1100 - 1773 considering the fact I have the majority of the others already.
  17. The pleasure is all mine X-D
  18. *found out that something went wrong but managed to deal with it*
  19. Here is a link to the pirate forum where it has been discussed before: Tips for cleaning dirty and yellowed bricks
  20. I already saw this lot for sale last weekend. It is on the net for a couple days already but since I already own the majority of the pieces, do not consider me a candidate for buying this lot. As for the cannons, I think swivel bases are OK but I prefer the cannons to be fit like ship's cannons and put on simple black 2 x 2 modified plates with wheel holders finished by 4 brown or old grey small cannon wheels. Basically, the way they were used in 6270 Forbidden Island, 6267 Lagoon Lock-up, 6274 Caribbean Clipper and 6285 BSB for instance. Simple but effective. X-D
  21. Well, for $90 I am not sure what you can expect. You might be lucky but be prepared to pay a little more if the set is 100% complete with good condition parts, original instructions and the original box. If you do not need the original box and if you would be prepared to settle for a well used set that is 90%-95% complete, maybe $90 ain't so bad. The UK is usually an expensive place to buy when it comes to the big ships and imperial soldiers and guards (I saw 30 of them go with only 1 governor included missing the admiral bicorne for
  22. The best way to get this out of the way is selling each set separately. Of course, this is time consuming and you possibly have to deal with many people if there are different buyers involved. It is often written on eBay that they sell everything in one huge lot due to lack of time. The guy would be best of if he opened a BL shop or sell everything on eBay if it needs to be sold fast. It is a nice collection with mostly early models (6276 E.F. and 6285 BSB to name a few) and lots of the early generic pirates with striped shirts and blue vests.
  23. Shows what can be done by mixing SW minifig parts and Lego pirates. I noticed you used the Qui-Gon head and hair, 2 different Luke Skywalker faces, a Boba Fett (young) face for the British soldier and a Han Solo vest. Everything looks quite fine.
  24. For that kind of money, you can buy a couple nice MISB sets or a couple 6285 and 6286 ships and some imperial bases such as 6276 and 6277 I would say. That is a helluva lot more fun to build also instead of just one big - not so well designed but loaded with parts, cannons, minifigs and sails - ship.
  25. Well, it says that 2 offers have been made (3 Preisvorschl
