  1. @AmitDC welcome to Eurobricks. I can confirm that both levers should be pushed down to raise the doors up. Sounds like you have a crank piece reversed, the piece that converts up/down motion to forwards/backwards motion in the middle of the linkage but can't know for sure without seeing it. And yes many of us are very disappointed with the many colour issues, not just with that one piece.
  2. Random thought, is 8480 a licenced set?
  3. Yup, cents per piece is pretty much useless when looking at sets with control+. I'm not able to do the numbers right now, but is it the norm for sets that have control+ to cost about as much as their individual control+ components as priced by TLG?
  4. I think the "winch" is actually an in line clutch, in a similar place as the Liebherr clutch for the same reason, to protect the final drive. That's my guess anyway. As for price and part count, looks like around €300 and 2000 to me.
  5. Agreed but the rumours of prices and part counts may have been wrong or they have changed.
  6. I'm so glad to see we are getting the mid size tractor tyres! A JCB 3CX comes ever closer!
  7. I'm not sure that it's downsizing that's what's needed. If the flagship is too big and expensive, it doesn't matter as there are also smaller sets available. Sets can be as big and expensive as they like so long as there's a reason behind it, like it might need to be that big to fit in all the functions, like 42055 for example. I think this is saying that IPs and RC is not AS desirable as mechanical authenticity. Both would be great (like an RC pneumatic Arocs) but for a few years in a row now the flagship has sacrificed mechanical novelty and realism for the sake of RC and control+, it's as if RC/control+ can't coexist with mechanical novelty and realism, only with IPs and high prices, but I still don't see why this has to be the case. I think reading the results of my recent poll in the "technic is for kids" thread would allow most people to both predict and explain the reactions that these sets are getting.
  8. In front of the main drive sprocket, where the 16t gear is, can't tell if that's something new connected to it or if it's an in line slipper clutch. The main drive sprocket is also driven by a 3 pin hub so they might have used the planetary reduction hubs? It's also nice to see the tracks in yellow. Besides that I don't see anything interesting here. If the original rumours of price and piece count were ever true then this has been downsized quite a lot, which is probably a good thing. Unless it would bring something seriously awesome (and I'm not talking about a gearbox, I mean RC pneumatics with new compact and precise RC valves and compressor, or even hydraulics type of next level awesome) then there's no reason for a simple bulldozer to be more than £250 and I don't see why this version should be more than that. I'm sure it'll be well designed and engineered, easy to build and all that, but it's uninspiring, simple and really I don't think any attempt was made to entice adult fans. Maybe a bit of nostalgia for the 2007 dozer (which was also mechanically simple)? But at least it looks to be mercifully small and not as expensive as first rumoured. It's an easy pass for me.
  9. Pneumatics, YAY!!! Of course I'll be getting this one. Only concern is the colour scheme. I have grown to like it but at first glance it was a bit ugly. Same thing with 42080. They seem to like putting pneumatics into weird looking sets. As for the crane looking too big, it might be because it's a rotator, or it could be that they make it bigger on purpose to make it more obvious that it has a crane on the back to casual observers. Very nice to see the new valves and 1x11 cylinders making a return, and the Arocs rack in blue is also good to see. I'm also curious as to how the air pressure is built up. Can't see any manual pump anywhere.
  10. I finally got round to building this today and, as I do tend to give official set designs a lot of criticism at times, it's only fair that I say what they also get right. There isn't much more to say about this set that hasn't already said, but one thing I haven't seen said about this set is that I think it handles/drives quite nicely. The suspension isn't too hard or too soft and the steering is geared quite nicely from both the optional HOG and also the working steering wheel in the cabin. It doesn't quite match the feel of 8880 or the test car due to 42110 having no Ackerman geometry and shorter steering arms (so the mechanical advantage is gained by gears which feel a bit rough and less direct) but of the modern sets, 42110 is easily the best handling and fun to drive around, easily beating the 1:8 supercars.
  11. Thanks Jim (and TLG). It's always cool to get these kind of behind the scenes insights.
  12. Good call @Maaboo35 Technica does indeed say which ones can be motorised.
  13. Could you rule out interference by trying it far away from your house, like more than 100 meters away?
  14. Oh wow! This is getting tricky! Hmmmm. Do you have any other BLE devices (Lego or non Lego) running that might be causing interference? Does anyone with more knowledge of BLE know if this is even a plausible cause of the issue?
  15. So 8 out if 10 motors do the same thing? Do you have another hub to try?
  16. Well to be fair they are offering some Lego products in return for a 1-2 minute video so it might not be a bad deal to anyone interested.
  17. The build for real question isn't that well stated, but I think it's basically asking, do you think that the technic models we offer feel "real" to you, as their "build for real" slogan would suggest. I answered no mostly because of how unrealistic all the mechanisms are, but the goofy choice of colours used for the mechanical internals doesn't help either.
  18. Front and rear would give you a tighter turn radius.
  19. Thanks @Jim and the Technic team for this . I have submitted my answers. I wonder if the timing of this poll has anything to do with another poll that might have happened here recently?! These were some good questions from TLG. For the technology question, I wasn't sure if they meant electronic only or mechanical technology also, so I put both. For non vehicles I also suggested a clock, like a Swiss cuckoo clock. But I wonder if such a thing would be better suited to creator. You could have all the same Technic mechanisms but with a more ornate outer case. Or maybe such ornateness could be done in Technic also? And the last question, about the build for real slogan and if I felt the current products reflect this, I had to put no. They might look authentic on the outside, and that's great, but that's only skin deep. As the builder I know how it is on the inside and it just doesn't feel "for real" most of the time.
  20. @ord you can exit the program? All I can do is swipe the program off the screen!
  21. Tip: RC Pneumatics Please excuse some of the sun yellowed pneumatic pipes BTW, I seem to have some issues with programs not being saved. Sometime I reopen the app to find that the code is still there but the controls have all gone, or sometimes the controls are there and the code as gone. Another issue is that I can't seem to be able to name the different programs. When I select to name a program the keyboard doesn't show up on my phone.
  22. 5: 10 2: 6 16: 4 10: 3 9: 2 3: 1 Excellent work everyone
  23. I think the only way to overcome this is when you get board of trying. Until then you might as well enjoy the process of continual improvement. Sometimes the "goal" of Lego isn't the end product but the journey of getting there.
