  1. Really hard to choose! I voted skater's hair and skier's skis as they are most useful to me right now, but it could easily have been something else when I have another MOC in mind
  2. Well, no wonder I find this extremely hard then
  3. Being in such an early stage of my AFOLhood, I still don't have a large brick collection. I don't either have a lot of experience making MOCs, so I find LDD very valuable, in that I can attempt to work out ideas to see if I'm able to realize them. Even though I really hate LDD for not working in my preferred OS (linux), I still find it useful enough to boot my old work-laptop in windoze when I want to plan a new MOC or test some ideas. So far I have restrained myself to the DBM palette, as I can then choose to order the bricks when I'm done designing without having to worry about scarcity of the bricks I've used. Though I have found that once I build the model with actual bricks, I feel the need to change some things because I see things that I just didn't notice in LDD (it could be an unsturdy construction, weird color-use, or something looking too big/too small/out of place once it exits the virtual world). So I often end up placing a lot of bricklink orders for rare parts anyway I'm also utterly useless at drawing free-hand, so sketching things on paper is just out of the question... And even when my brick collection holds enough bricks to build any MOC I want (I can dream, can't I? ), I'll probably still use LDD for testing ideas and concepts, and planning large MOCs. Maybe just because I really hate taking bricks apart when I want to change something, and in LDD I can just swap them out However, I still like fiddling with bricks at a small scale to see what I make. But for larger things, LDD is invaluable in the planning for me. But it will never be a real MOC unless I build it with real bricks!
  4. I found it! I was soooo interpreting the clue the wrong way But now that I found it, the clue really was perfect
  5. So far I've found them all except for the witch. I find the clue to be too vague. There's just too many things that could fit the clue...
  6. I'm really blown away by your nice comments, especially since these vigs are some of my earliest MOCs as an AFOL. I had to look that word up, and some of the synonyms suggested make me hope you're not going to come and eat them I admired your's last time, and seeing them was part of what gave me the idea to make a vig for each fig. Looking forward to seeing what you have planned for the minifigs this time
  7. Thanks for your nice comments Wow, I'm honored Well, I started planning them in the beginning of July I think... so that would be two months. But I work a full time job, and had to wait for some bricklink orders, so it's not really two months worth of work I actually copied that technique from EB member brickfoot. You can see his micro death star and explanation of the technique here. I wanted to make a disco ball from the very beginning, but my attempts didn't lead to anything very convincing, until I got the idea of using the micro death star approach. It was quite hard fitting the trans clear dishes that way though. I suspect they are less "flexible" than the gray and black ones...
  8. Continuing my series of modular vigs to display my collectible minifigs as a shelf, here is series 2, finally done! (If you missed series 1, here is a link to my EB post about it). I actually found more of the figs from series 2 than series 1 hard to fit into such a small vig, but in the end, I'm mostly happy about them all (I won't tell you which ones I'm not so happy about, so as not to bias your own opinion of them ). All of the pictures can be found in my flickr account, but here are some previews: All of them put together: And all 32, including series 1: Hope you like them
  9. This second one was hard... Guess I don't frequent enough sub-forums or read enough posts...
  10. Thanks for all your nice comments I'm only a few bricklink bricks (currently in the mail) away from completing my series 2 shelf. My collection isn't all that big yet, so I'm constantly running out of the bricks I need
  11. How do you fit plates under those? I tried, but the gap underneath is too large for the studs.
  12. Not quite sure which half-arch you're referring too, as I can't find any that are 4x4. This one can fit plates underneath, but I still can't figure out how to get that tile-effect. I tried fitting some headlight bricks under and attaching tiles to them, but I couldn't get it spaced right, so it just looked weird. Maybe I'm just doing it wrong...
  13. I love the tiling on the entrance of the bottom left one. Who built that? I'd like to do something similar, but I have no idea how to attach the tiles in that way...
  14. Oh, yes! I'd love some nunchucks! Some throwing stars would be cool as well. And perhaps a sai? (yes, I was a Ninja Turtles fan as a kid )
  15. Stunning! I've only read about this game before, never played it. But seeing your MOC made me want to run and buy the game I just love the ancient japanese architecture style, and you've really captured it perfectly
  16. I'm not sure I should comment about that... but you really think we don't have a clue? It's not like Rocky was never shown outside of America... And Godzilla is pretty international as a concept. And you guys broadcast enough about the independence from GB for us to catch on about that too... At least I did.
  17. Funny that it's no longer available in US when Shop@Home in Europe still has it.
  18. Wow, at first glance I almost didn't believe it was LEGO, it looks so real!
  19. I really like this one, especially the top part, which looks very nice. I also think you did a very good job on the interior. I like the red staircase, and the DJ booth looks almost just like what I had in mind the other day when I thought about making one, only maybe slightly better But it needs people! It looks so empty...
  20. Awesome! And very cute Note to self: add a lot of grey dishes to next bricklink-order...
  21. Hello, and welcome to EB gordongordon. Do you by any chance watch Bones?
  22. I bet they are nice and comfortable though, and that the tickets are expensive
  23. Very nice use of the Town Plan cinema to build a modular cinema I think the cinema hall looks a bit small compared to the overall building size, but I can see the difficulty in making it larger.
  24. I gotta get this for my own birthday-party! Too bad it says that it's not available in my country (and too bad my friends are all too "grown up" for this kind of party )
  25. Maybe he will be when he sees all the awesome things I'll be building, but for now I'm happy he is accepting my hobby . Thank you Wait, there's a Ladies Lounge? Where might that be?
