Here in Norway, the police aren't allowed to carry guns unless they are responding to a shooting or the sight of a gun in public. And they manage to arrest people pretty often So the CITY policemen don't need guns unless the citizens of LEGO town start carrying guns

Nice, thanks! (except for the fact that as a geeky girl I sort of boycott pink, but I'll accept a pink star to show everyone that girls can love LEGO too ) Yes, I'm working on that

It's been about half a year since I signed up to the forums now, and I've gradually started making more posts, even making my first MOC thread in the town forum. I'm a little shy in real life, and I guess I take some of that personality with me on the internet as well. So, after half a year, I figured it was time for a proper introduction of myself Hello, my name is Cecilie and I'm a 26 (27 in a month) years old girl/lady from Norway. I work as a computer programmer, and my main hobby outside of LEGO is aikido. I came out of my dark ages last winter, but I'm not quite sure what triggered it. I guess it was a multitude of things, but I never really stopped loving LEGO, I just didn't buy or build any after I went to study at the university at the age of 18. In my youth I never really did any MOC'ing. I could never take anything apart, so I built things after the instructions, and left them as they were. My brother and I had a lot of LEGO sets, mainly city, space and pirates, but also some castle. As I got older I got into Technic building, and my old room is still filled with Technic models standing on the shelves. Then I moved out and left it all behind. Fast forward to today, and my apartment is filling up with LEGO bricks faster than I had thought. I've bought an insane amount of sets over the past half year, but now that I've discovered the joy of MOC'ing, I take them all apart after only a short period of time (it hurts less and less to take something apart ). The only exception to this rule are classic Star Wars sets, they stay built. My MOC'ing skills are still in an early development stage, and my only notable work (that I myself am happy with) is the bridge I built for the cakes at my wedding this summer (see it on flickr) and the minifig modular display shelf that I've already posted about in the Town forum (EB Topic, flickr set). Hanging around here at EB is very inspirational, and gives me a lot of ideas of things to build, as well as insight into cool techniques. And when we move to the new (unbuilt) house that we've bought in a little over a year, I'll finally have my own LEGO room where I can unfold. I'm also really looking forward to getting all of my old sets from my mother's attic

Minifg collectors series 2 pics and barcodes
Cecilie replied to Superkalle's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Here to help! And, bonus, the shield fits nicely inside the dish: Now I'm wondering what kind of plans you have for the shield -
Minifg collectors series 2 pics and barcodes

Yes, I can confirm that a 2x2 stud circular brick fits on the shield. Also included a pic of the back of the shield (sorry for the blurry photo, my phone camera just wouldn't focus on the shield). -

I just bought a box, and I can confirm this composition. -
I love that roof! I'm a big fan of ancient Japanese architecture, and you've really captured that roof in an amazing way
-
Wow, this is really nice. And yellow is my favorite color, which makes me love this building even more I might try to copy some of your techniques for a yellow building of my own some day, if you don't mind

Stunning. Absolutely stunning.

Thanks everyone, glad you like it I already have series 2 on the planning board, so hoping I'll be able to get my hands on a complete set of those as well. Yes, I did. The ninja-vig in my display is a modified version of the one I entered for the contest. And I gotta admit that the contest might have been what sparked the idea of this modular display
-
After getting a box of the first series of the collectible minifigs, I was wondering how best to display them, and I got the idea to make a modular display shelf. Each minifig would get an 8x8 vig which would give it a "natural habitat". The vigs had to be such that they could be arranged in any configuration, so they also had to have a set height. I decided on 9 and 2/3 bricks high (9 bricks + top and bottom plate). Here are som pictures of the finished result, and a picture of the whole thing stacked together. You can see all the pictures at flickr.

What Duplo piece would you like to see in LEGO?

I second that. Especially the penguins, tigers and lions. -

Wow, that's one employee who's going to get scolded by her boss... And one really lucky customer! -
Yey! It has reappeared on S@H with a "coming soon on 30 Jul 2010", so at least it hasn't disappeared from the European release schedule
-
S@H says "Sorry, item is not available in this country: Norway." Where exactly is this set available? Or did it just vanish as quickly as it appeared?

I really admire all the creativity and skill in LEGO-building you guys have I have a long way to go if I want to catch up, but it's really inspiring to see all the possibilities! Anyway, my favourite 3 are (1 point each) 1) Caveman Entry (Build by legitimatealex) 6) Zombie Entry (Build by Darkblane) 11) Robot Entry (Build by Tereglith)

I know what game it is! Man, this brings back a lot of good memories Cool moc!

The ninja sensei is getting ready to start a class with new recruits at the local dojo. But except for one shy little boy, the new kids are a bit too eager... They need to learn some respect, and not just jump around or try to take the ornamental weapons from the weapon shrine! This vig is for the ninja minifig. It's my first MOC posted at eurobricks, and also the first vig I've ever built, so be nice

This would actually be very interesting, and a great way to get more wagons for a train without having to buy a complete extra set! And I'm sure it could be useful for other types of sets as well, such as getting more floors to a building or extra vehicles from a larger set. I'd definitely use this if it was an option

LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion

What is it with you people and the fear of getting all these crash test dummies? I actually like this figure, it's one of my favorites of the first series, and I would love to have a mountain of them! I guess people are just different in their likes and dislikes Of course, I too want to have at least one of each, and then some extra of my favorites, and if looking at the barcodes is going to help me achieve that without spending too much money, then look at the barcodes I will -
Motorized AT-AT - backordered for 10th Jan. 2011!?
Cecilie replied to pdxbricks's topic in General LEGO Discussion
In Norway, it just recently disappeared from S@H ("Not available in this country: Norway") -
Maybe you are referring to this book? http://www.modelbuildingsecrets.com/ I haven't read it, so don't know if it's any good, but it has a balloon on the cover...

How open are you about your Lego passion?
Cecilie replied to Fugazi's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm very open about it. Whenever it fits the conversation, I'll talk about it. Sure, people laugh and say it's a toy for children, but then I just argue that it's actually a very challenging hobby, and that it's no different from a lot of other adult hobbies (such as radio controlled model airplanes), and people tend to agree. Besides, people already think I'm pretty weird (being a geek girl and all... I'm a software developer), so one extra weird thing about me won't really change anyone's opinion about what type of person I am. So by talking about my LEGO hobby to as many as possible, maybe someday I'll find a fellow AFOL in my surroundings -
How did you get your wife hooked on the Lego hobby?
Cecilie replied to Legoist's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I have the opposite problem: I'm a girl who has just come out of my dark ages, and I'm having trouble getting my soon-to-be-husband hooked But he's mostly accepting (although he does think I spend a bit too much money on it, hehe...), and he did ask to build a small set I bought the other day (and I let him of course), so it's a better start than with my ex, who was mostly the reason I entered my dark ages (he didn't like that sort of "childish" behaviour No wonder I had to dump him ). So how did I come out of my dark ages? Well, I had a lot of LEGO sets as a child, and it was always at the back of my head during my dark ages, and then one day I guess I just couldn't resist any longer after seeing some cool AFOL MOCs online
