Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
kevkipo replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Part of Sam and Spidey standing out, design wise, is due to a certain design factor. Like you mentioned, Sam has a certain detailing that is quite unique for standard minifigures. An important factor when designing or stylizing (in Lego's case) is not only choosing what to include in your design, but most importantly what to exclude. Lego is great at following this notion. Through the years they have created their own design language, the amount of detail that's included and how a charicature should be translated from a intricate costume to a stylized minifigure in that scale. Sam and Spidey seem out of place because the designers of these figures seem to have diverted slightly from this designing notion. Including more intricate detail than is usually expected in a minifigure, which makes it seem out of place amongst Lego's catalog. I've always been interested in finding out who designs the CMFs compared to Lego's set design for example, is it a completely different team or company? -

I wonder what the plan will be for the remaining shows regarding merch. If Hawkeye releases in the autumn and Ms. Marvel around christmas / January, then we can expect She-Hulk in March and Moon Knight following that up probably? I'd imagine the smartest move would be to release it right between shows (so March would be most likely) with merchandise from these shows. Since a CMF seems to be off the table according to some, The best bet would be several coinciding sets? I do fear for detailing / accuracy tho, these CMF's have been hitting it out of the ballpark with accuracy and design, you'd only wish for characters like Kate, Kamala, Jennifer and Marc to follow suit. But I'm getting much too far ahead, apologies. These 4 figures look amazing. I wasn't particulairly interested in getting them but now I gotta get some of them! -

So there's two more uncomfirmed heroes? Let's hope one of them is Moon Knight, he'll fit perfectly in this. -

Slightly off-topic but the new speed racers 1970's Dodge Challenger can double as Hawkeyes car from the series! It needs to be modded to have a different colour tho. -

I customised Stormbreaker myself to align the axe with the hammer part perfectly, it makes use of the old faucet / tap piece. I'll send a picture when I can, might be useful to those who want it! -
This. Where are Bill, Percy, Igor, Barty Crouch, a neatly dressed Sirius, Battle worn Deathly-Hallows Neville etc. Those are the characters you can't have enough of, tho I'm glad with Rufus!

That's valid but it doesn't explain the lack of different Nintendo properties being released as well? Why can't we have Zelda sets at the same time as this Mario theme?
-
That's a very solid point actually, Lego and Nintendo might be playing the long game here

Exactly the point im trying to make regarding the CMF. Doing a CMF is perfect ground to cover all these Disney+ projects while leaving the main sets for the cinematic releases. It would almost be weird not to cover such a huge year like 2022 with another D+ CMF. -

Hmm, that seems like a logical conclusion. Yet, I also can't underestimate the power of Marvel and the populairity of these shows. I do wonder how else they'll secure a platform to release all these new characters on if not for a regular, yearly CMF series? I can't imagine them releasing all these individual sets along with movie sets when a CMF is (presumably) much more cost efficient? It's an interesting subject really. -
I've been wondering about a Lego Zelda theme as well, I heard rumours and rumblings last year when Mario was announced but it seems to all have died down. It would be nice if Lego could just give us a definitive "not for the foreeseable future" or something like that.

Im wondering if this CMF will be a yearly thing for Lego going forward, if so I'm game and it's a very exciting prospect. Since Marvel is planning these D+ shows with only a few months of interval it could be good. I'd imagine they'd release another Wave like this in spring of next year with Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, Echo, Miss Marvel, Moon Knight, Bushman (?), She-Hulk, War Machine, Nick Fury, Talos etc. to cover those shows. -

What if this assumed Korg figure and the new Thanos without helmet share the same type of body mold system? With a minifigure head on top and a headpiece in the case of Korg. Maybe it's a bit of a stretch but just a taught. -

The inclusion of a helmetless Thanos in that final battle set is great. The helmeted Thanos, despite being accurate for Endgame, was a pain in the Infinity War sets, I'm glad to see this being corrected. I do wonder though, will it be a minifigure head or an actual bigfig head but just rotatable? Or a totally new kind of bigfig mold wich will open up all sorts of new possibilities for the superheroes line? -

Personally I'm eagerly awaiting Moon Knight in lego form. But I do wonder what the chances are regarding actually getting him since Lego doesn't seem to do a whole lot for Disney+? -

The absence of a WandaVision or Falcon / Wintersoldier set in the forseeable future is quite strange to say the least. I think it's a safe bet that the Disney+ shows will bring us a big erray of new and varying characters in the MCU, to not have them represented in Lego form seems like a big missed oppertunity. I mean, especially next year, missing Ms.Marvel, She-Hulk and Moon-Knight would be quite dissapointing. But also now, missing out on John Walker, Zemo, Flag-Smasher, Agnes, Kate Bishop, Lucky, etc etc. is quite strange. -
Just my two cents on this but what are the odds Lego will be filling in the complete Weasley family? I mean Bill and Percy have pretty substantial roles in the later books. Maybe when they get to them the Order of the Phoenix will be fleshed out a bit more as well? Fletcher, Bill, a pink Tonks, a decent Sirius etc. are characters that feel like they have been kept as a trick card up Lego's sleeve?

Wow I love this! It's such a unique thing to break out of the mold like that, huge props to LEGO for trying this out! I know 10 y/o me would defenitely be excited for this. It also kinda has classic NES vibes? (As I've seen echoed by other users here) It also makes me cautiously optimistic for a potential Breath of the Wild set. The latest 'stables' Ideas-set has received 10,000 voters yet again and is in the review stage after all. It even received a staff pick so I reckon LEGO is on to something now.

These look good! It's also cool that Newt has side leg printing to round out the coat, something which would've been nice on Dr.Strange as well. Still waiting for Sirius and young Dumbledore now!

If anyone wants to make Thor from Infinity War WITH the armored arms and cape. Simply take the Infinity War Thor, add gunmetal grey arms and a red cape. I also have an idea for a better Stormbreaker. simply grab: - 1 Reddish Brown 3 S rod - 1 Flower petal piece in brown - 1 Reddish Brown Lightsaber hilt piece with 3 holes - 1 Reddish Brown Faucet piece - 1 Light bluish grey stud with hole - 1 1x1 Light bluish grey tile - 1 Flat grey axe piece I think you can piece them together based on the description. I'll try to upload a picture if i can. Does anyone actually have a good option for Iron Man's new handcanon / wings? Or Cap's wakandan shields?
-
Okay, now i DEFENITELY expect them to give Newt a accurate hairpiece as well!
