Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
kevkipo replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Why did I somewhere still have the hope that it would be Moon Knight / Disney+ related. So glad it's *checks notes* again Iron Man and Groot... -

If this is accurate I do wonder what justifies the 30 dollar price point on Gargantos Showdown, and this being 20, despite having the same amount of figures and a creature -

Looks so good!! Really wondering what else they can deliver to us with that 20 dollar set, it must include some different figures right? -

It's been reported on several platforms now that the set is rumored to include 3 Stranges right? -

Strongly disagree, it would be most logical to have the main focus be on MoM, the movie that's coming out in the same month. With characters like Wanda and the three Stranges who actually appear in said movie. The argument about the early design phase doesn't hold up either, these films usually enter a pretty early pre-production phase too. Concept art for MoM would've been well available come 2020. -

When do you guys think Lego will release another Spider-mech? I feel like it's been a while? -

Upgrading Stormbreaker can be a real easy fix! All you need is a brown rod piece, a grey hollow stud, the old 'faucet' type piece and then an axe blade piece. On the end of the faucet you can place another grey hollow stud and a 1x1 smooth tile to create the flat end of Stormbreaker. I've been using this one for years and this trick aligns the blade with the "hammer" part of the axe head. Don't know if it makes sense, will try to get a picture later! EDIT: Decided to draw it out: -

That's how I feel too, the wait for Moon Knight has been so long and now that he's here, there's very little to celebrate it with Also, has anyone tried the new Kamala Khan hairpiece on America Chavez yet? I feel like that would work -

Seeing that full Empire cover of Moon Knight... Oof having not a single bit of representation for him in Lego form stings! -

I'm not entirely sure that's the case. Aren't the shows basically produced on the same scale and budget as the films? -

Multiple reports saying Moon Knight will hit in March! :) Sadly no Lego item to accompany it though :( -

This makes me question it as well. There's an awful lot of confidence put into the notion that they will be 6-packs for the upcoming cmf's but couldn't they still be actual different themes? -

What are the odds of the CMF still happening though? Is it definite that Muppets and Series 23 are the only releases on that front this year? -

It would honestly be surprising if it doesn't at least cover the D+ shows in part. Seeing as there isn't another possibility in the near future to cover such a large array of different characters in bulk. A CMF series accompanying these shows is genius I think. -

A CMF series 2 this year :) such good news! This means we'll defenitely get all those cool new suits done justice, like Moon Knight, She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, Kate etc. I can't wait for it. The collectability of the first CMF was so nice, I found myself going back to the toy shop regularly to try and get the characters I wanted. With all these cool shows coming out and the probability of What If being excluded this time around, I may just want the whole wave! -

Terribly sorry if this has been answered already, but as of yet Doctor Strange 2 will only get one set? -

So Hawkeye isn't getting any sets as far as we're aware? Huge bummer tbh, it looks so good and a set with that car chase could easily be done... -

With all this stuff on the horizon for Disney+ next year, it shouldn't be too hard to pick. I'd bet that if it happens, She-Hulk, Moon Knight, Ms.Marvel, Secret Invasion and Hawkeye will be more than enough to make a roster of 12. -

So four Lego minifigure series for next year... I'm starting to believe more and more that Lego will cash in yearly on the Disney+ shows and release a minifig series every year -

Now this looks like a fun show! I'd love a set with that old sportscar including Kate, Clint and some bad guys. Also is a new Bow too much to ask this time around? I feel with all the new dynamic pieces introduced the past years we could do something for the quite static bow pieces? -

I do think Lego could've added 3 figures to represent upcoming shows Hawkeye and Ms.Marvel instead of 3 of the What-If figures. For example take out Zombie cap, Gamora and Capt. Carter and switch them up for Clint, Kate and Kamala. I feel we're going to have to wait quite a while to get representation (if any) for these characters. -

Of course there are exceptions, like Sam and Spidey in this case. I find it intriguing to see these diversions from most figures in their Marvel line of products and what justifies them on Lego's behalf. It's not up to me what's good design and what isn't, in the end that's objective. All I know is I'm buying Sam :) -

Part of Sam and Spidey standing out, design wise, is due to a certain design factor. Like you mentioned, Sam has a certain detailing that is quite unique for standard minifigures. An important factor when designing or stylizing (in Lego's case) is not only choosing what to include in your design, but most importantly what to exclude. Lego is great at following this notion. Through the years they have created their own design language, the amount of detail that's included and how a charicature should be translated from a intricate costume to a stylized minifigure in that scale. Sam and Spidey seem out of place because the designers of these figures seem to have diverted slightly from this designing notion. Including more intricate detail than is usually expected in a minifigure, which makes it seem out of place amongst Lego's catalog. I've always been interested in finding out who designs the CMFs compared to Lego's set design for example, is it a completely different team or company?
