  1. Made this loc 7760 in green long time ago, but I didn't like the windows ala clear 1x2 brick. Now I have used green windows, which looks much better. What do you think? Oh and the lights doe really work, when train is riding .
  2. Have you tried it already? I bought only the locomotive of set 60198 just to found out more about the PUP-system. I'm positive surprised about the PUP-system. Quiet & easy to control. Only the batt .
  3. Everybody knows this set was sold out quickly. Just be patience, you get your hands soon at one set or maybe 2. This one is gonna be a classic.
  4. That's for to pull the standard up, which has some wires what will fall over when not using the gearthing I made at trainshed. To me it's still a layout. I have seen layouts who are bigger than mine. I'm glad you are impressed by it. It's only 4m by 4m dense/packed with city/miniland sets. Like the modulars. The Minions are also arrived :( : And the little proud of mine, 4x 7755 in different colors and each have 2x 12v motor for extra pulling power. Made for a meeting to pull 40 Shelltankers at 12v. Well I build 20 tankers sofar.........
  5. Maybe nice to know. I designed my layout for the set 10027 trainshed: So every 9v & 12v train can be repaired when needed. Also changed the 'octan' colors into shell. This was mine desgin, before I started to build up.
  6. New little project finished. I bought the only locomotive 60198, because I was curious about the new system. I was positive surprised about the quality of it. And a good extra, to clean the innertrack before using the 12v trains :D . I can pull a cleaning wagon first, to clean the innertrack of 12v. Anyway, first the loc. I modified it a little to 'DB' and looked at internet who did it before to build lights in it. Good job I think, without changing the desgin of orginal. Only I wanted rearlights too :D . Just bought 2 sets of ledlights and cut & paste the lights to one wire which goes into batteryholder. The oldie besides the newbie
  7. Looks great. Almost similar like mine. Maybe an idea to build it like mine, to save space? As child it was a dream to get all sets and play all day to hunt for the treasure.
  8. And Imperial Flagship 6271 also restored and cleaned. The canons and muskets are loaded....... Enough firepower to defend themselves.......... Made little improvements. Can you spot them? No anchor? It is LEGO, add one. With small stringdrum in a holder.
  9. Dust is the problem of every AFOL, if not you don't have LEGO . Yellowing is a problem of sunlight. Now the room stays dark when I'm not around. White, light grey yellow & blue. It can be restored, if you know what you doing. Red also discolors, but that you can throw away :( . Finally all parts are arrived and this pic shows actually what I've done to update the sets of 1989 for better detail.
  10. I meant the piratesets of 1989 .........., trains also, but that's another problem .
  11. Besides mine (huge) trainlayout and love the piratetheme also. I have all sets from 1989 and few after that which fit in this style in mine eyes. After eating dust after 10 years, I noticed many pieces were yellowed . Lucky I found a way to unyellow them with hydrogen perxide, even printed pieces worked out, lucky me . I also updated the theme with few better details pieces and modify here and there, also for practical use. Still working at Eldorado Fortness, pic's will follow soon. But the Caribbean Clipper 6274 is finished and want to share this. If you like it , say it. If you don't like it, who cares . Also added support to keep the sails full in the wind. Added 2 extra canons. Also a battledroid with lifejacket and a soldier with a slingshot. When used properly, it can hurt like hell. The gouvernor has his own place to keep an eye at his treasure. And he has gloves on. See the flame to fire the canon? The soldier has a new backpack with green sleeproll and the sailors have also a little bag to have some things always with them. And the frontsail is made in same way as Imperial Flagship in the hope it won't crull together. Anyway this set is finished to get dust for the next 10 years.........
  12. @Joerg2607: Not so big as mine? Your layout is bigger than mine, only mine is completly build in with buildings :P .
  13. @Rijkvv: 12v is still alive, but expensive to maintain. Actually not wise to start with. At other hand, the best system ever because of remote things you have with it. With meetings it takes too much work to make a nice layout for a day to operate smoothly. @Man with a hat: Yes, 5 crossings remote controlled. You don't want to operate by hand . @Arrow: With 12v is a bit tricky, too much weight and the motor won't last long. At mine own experience, each motor can pull 2 till 3 long wagons or 5 short wagons. If you add more, well €50,- at least ain't cheap to replace them. And I have 10 motor already thrown away.
  14. I'm impressed, where you can buy these ball bearings?
  15. Here you can see how perfectly the clubar fit in the 7740 colors, at least I think it is .
  16. , WTF. Yours green locomotive is a beauty . Very clever to make use of those rods and 2 12v motors. I think I want that too, got an instruction ......... All other trains, very nice done with those colors.
  17. Those render pic.'s looks very nice. The 7710 is most close to original with red 12v motor and without the doors . Yes I know, that costs twice of black one. And 2 extra wagons give the little train more 'body'. Were did you get those stickers? There are people who make reproductions, so close you can't see the difference with original.
  18. Good day to you all. I collect 12v trains for a long time and was a long time quiet because of work and/or other things that needed mine attention more :P . Picture say more than 1000 words, so I start with this pic: I'm working at more expansion with 9v switches and yes everything is connected and working. I will post with time more pictures, so you get an idea what I do with 12v mainly. Last project were I was working on a clubcarwagon for the 7740: Mine demand was a close as possible in the style of 7815, but also close to original 4547. I used a red thicker line, so you can see there is something unusual going on at distance. Those clear hinges are already ordered of €7,- a piece :( . Here the 12v train 7740 in his full glory with 5 unique wagons coming down. With mailwagon 7719, sleepwagon 7715, clubcarwagon 4547 in 7740 colors & 2 wagons which belongs to set 7740. I had already made a clubcarwagon for the 7745, but changed it also, so it's close to the one of 7740: And the 7745 in his full glory in mine eyes. Longer ain't wise, otherwise I think I can burn out the 12v motor..........
  19. I like this set too, but no Octan is allowed in mine town. So I changed colors :
  20. I bought this set too and was positive suprised of the quality of the build. But a bit disappoinment about the printwork of the blue stripe on the white tiles and the grey stripe too. And an big miss of the sparkplugs of the V8. There were only 4 instead of 8 as it should be. And I didn't like the color of the wheels. All parts which has a sticker, changed with printed tiles of steindrucker. Why stickers ? I started to modify it a little to mine own taste and pic's say more than 1000 words. The original vs modified. The stripes are better, because of the bad qualtiy of printing. And white wheels looks so much better with the car: Also a german plate on it which could excist: And the mod which should be done by Lego itself, 8 red sparkplugs instead of 4 black ones. The grey bad printed stripe gone and better look of the white wheels, which looks in mine opnion much better. What to do with the extra 1x1 round tile? In EU an USA car is expensive with his fuel, so most of them drive at lpg . This one is from mine friend, which liked mine mod too. Special for him and sub in the back with his favorite food .
  21. I was very happy with the instructions, give me the green light to build this set :) .
  22. Finally the rebuild of set 60118 garbage truck form 6nops to 4nops is finished. I had trouble with the container, but it was easier than I thought. Just turn it 90degrees instead make it smaller to 5nops wide. And who knows what I'm building:
  23. Slowly we keep on building, the marketstreet in the original colors of the designer Eric Brok: It comes with interior, but that's not finished. The cafe corner is almost done: The ground floor: The 1ste floor: The extra floor: The top floor: Not finished yet, but we keep on building. The interior has rare parts in not excisting colors. We need to adjust the design a little. The next project is also started: I've already started :) :
  24. Too bad I can't add pic's anymore here. When you go to mine brickshelf account, you can see I'm busy with building the cafe corner 10182 and marketstreet 10190 in original color of the designer. I was inspired by a promomovie at the legosite itself. Most bricks ordered by lego and other at bricklink. Both buildings get interior which I found at lego-ideas. The cafe corner gets an extra floor with hotel rooms. Maybe if I like another extra floor, also hotelrooms. The market street was first designed with dark geen en darkred. I followed the buildinginstruction and changed the darkblue for darkgreen and the light blue in darkred. The light grey in building itself should be brown, but with light grey gives also a nice old look to the building. Please let me know your opnions :) .
  25. The conversion is almost done, only need the container to build it smaller. But the truck is finished. I bought an extra set so you can see what is the difference between both. Link the brickshelf for 60118 Next project will be the pizzalorry 60150 and the vestaslorry of set 4999. And I'm busy with set 60018 to put a micro 9v motor in it to turn the bak around, but this truck stays 6nops wide, I need the space for the mircomotor :P .
