was going to say the same thing, love the layout and variety. A great start to a Sunday!

Well, straights are available on bl for as low as $2 each. But I haven't seen a person selling a whole lot of them for that cheap. I found some from a seller for $1.99 but he only had two. I just leave the track on my bl wanted list and tack them onto my existing order if they have them pretty cheap.

As for the stock cars that come in the set, I have a tough time thinking of the two axles as legit cars. I extended the jail car with about $15 worth of parts, the most expensive part being the train base. I robbed the extra wheels from the gun car. You can try buying two jail cars but you won't have enough of the reddish brown wall bricks, I think it comes up a bit short by a few bricks. And you will need two of the 4x6 plates with technic pins for the trucks. Otherwise it's fairly simple, should look something like this with the barn door and 6 jail bars. Once my BL order comes in with the correct bricks, it should fit nicely with the Constitution loc.

Yeah as long as you have a decent supply of plates, tiles, etc., and don't care about being 100% match to the EN parts list, you don't have to spend as much. the major parts you can share: Some 2x4 roof slopes for the EN body (they don't have the gold piping, but doesn't matter) Tender wheels Couplers Flanged wheels Many green and black bricks and plates rigid black hose (not very long, but can be adapted for use) Bricks with technic holes Windows (brown, but same size) some plates, cheese slopes, technic pins, clips, bricks with side studs, brackets, shovel, gold round studs

I ended up using the parts from my spare Constitution set to make another Emerald Night loco and tender. They share many of the same parts. Only ended up spending $70 to bricklink the parts I needed. It pulls the gun car and jail car, and have the bonus extras of the oval track, rock, and water tower which look great in the setup.

You could replace the broken up lightsaber wand rails with the long rigid rails (p/n 75c16). Don't know if they make them in gold though.

Hi guys I just finished bricklinking the Emerald Night, is it better to mod the PF train motor on the tender to run this train, or to use the XL motor on the loco as mentioned in the instructions? I dunno, something about the two bevel gears just screams problem waiting to happen for me. And there's no way to adjust gear mesh. Do I have to get spare gears due to wear and tear?

Will they still decrease in price? Only place with the passenger train at decent price is S&H. None for retail price on amazon or walmart.com. Out of stock at TRU both online and locally. Seems quite the opposite.
-
So does this mean 7938 and 7939 are going to (finally) retire? Only 7937 Train station is on the retiring soon list on USA S&H.
-
Wow, I will have to try that with my spare Constitution set. Love harpoon on there.

Finally got a Falcon, snapped a picture with my other boxed stuff at the moment, waiting for some free time to pop up before I open them.
-
Well makes sense to me that it still around, if the movie flopped then people aren't buying. I just got it for the train parts.
-
I don't think these are going away anytime soon, every Target and TRU I've been to recently have tons in stock. It is a great set for the value though, if you get it for sale. The track pieces alone are like $30-$40.

On sale for $29.99 at TRU this week, came with a free tree.

I have the money and am debating whether to grab the Asylum now or wait until Black Friday to get the free holliday truck. Not sure how crowded it will be or if it will still be in stock though. Decisions. . .

My stuff finally came in the mail yesterday.

OK looks like I have to return that Jabba's Palace I got earlier. I found a great deal and just got Jabba's Palace and Jabba's Sail Barge for $120 shipped. Right place and right time I guess.

Took the plunge and got Jabba's Palace at Target.com. Came out to $77.89 with $5 off coupon and 5%redcard. I can always return it if I find a better Black Friday deal.
