Post Your Superhero Minifig Collections Here!
Robianco replied to c0rnedfr0g's topic in LEGO Licensed
It's probably the one that is somehow worth the most. I was shocked when Christo sold his remaining two and the last sold for over £400. I'd never pay that for a minifigure. I'd really struggle paying that for a set and it would have to be something monumental such as a new UCS Falcon or Cloud City or maybe a current Batcave. It's not my favourite though... there are quite a few of the Bats figures that I like. Even though I'm a DC fan my first comic was a Captain America annual so I've always picked up Cap customs etc and I think my First Avenger Christo Cap is one of my favourite figures. I haven't photographed my Cap line up for a while so I may have to update that. -

I don't even want to think about how I keep up. Getting caught up is the hardest thing... Picking up the figures as they're released is easy compared to the catch up. Here's the updated Christo Batman group shot. -

Thanks! It's become a labour of love. It's actually a custom printed torso that's a bit different. Kristi at CustomBricks printed it a couple of years ago... The legs are yellow with black dye on the top to make the boots. The Sinestro figure is now the simpler option to modify. I've actually got the Phoenix Red Robin too now and obviously need the official Red Hood now also. Another 17 or so Batman figures and there's a couple more about to be released from different customisers. -

Here's some older photos of my DC and Bat related figures. I've got over 40 Batman variants now along with a few more robins etc. I'll get round to photographing them one day. -

Cheers. That's the one I received. I'll give Pogo a go. -
Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?

Yeah... they're adding little bits of custom stuff with figures even if it's just a small base but this kind of thing could really damage a reputation with regards to what you sell. I think I've actually ordered in the past from them and had it shipped to the UK but why they'd look to rip people off in that way is ridiculous. Did XInh also make that version of Moon Knight? I received one earlier this week that looks virtually identical but the head is printed too low... Quality is OK but there's just too much going on. MRM has just pad printed one and it's perfect. It's a set of 8 that I'd be very interested in as they're all non-Lego figures although they look like they've cloned two Phoenix Customs figs in there (Spider-Gwen and Deadpool). -
Not sure but the minute that happens the two new larger Batman sets and the new X-Wing are mine.

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Robianco replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
Can we put the 'bootlegs devalue real Lego' figures argument to bed? They don't. At all. Never have. Never will. Case in point: Batman Zur En Arrh bootleg available from three different companies at approximately 61p each. Genuine cape, arms/hands and baseball bat available from Bricklink for around £3 in total. Current price of genuine ZEA Batman on eBay? Selling for around £250 + Import taxes... and that the price for those that have sold never mind the ones listed higher. Bootlegs don't devalue Lego figures as those that want genuine Lego as collectors are happy to still place that 'value' on the genuine articles while those that just want the cheaper display option can go for that. Genuine Lego still sells at a premium on the secondary market despite the flood of bootleg figures. -

I think somebody might be taking advantage of the fact they've been selling custom items for a while: http://minifigworld.com Spot the pricing on some of those 'custom third part figures and sets'. Anything seem slightly off about those prices? -
The licensing thing is a big advantage but I'm still not buying the 'cheap toxic plastic' thing. Brick quality I've seen from bootlegs reminded me of early Megabloks (maybe even current Megabloks as I've only ever bought one MB set and it hurt to push the bricks together due to inferior part moulding which is something I've experienced from even small brick builds from bootlegs), but certainly not toxic. General set up of company with high QC is also something they don't bother with... I don't buy clone Lego sets but I've heard of people getting quite a few wrong parts. You get what you pay for... but even Lego can get parts wrong sometimes it seems.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Robianco replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The legs on the battle scarred Storms are the same as the ones on the 'Best' version from Slave 1. If the 'Best' stories are appearing expensive I've added those legs to the older Endor Stormies and they look almost as perfect as the Slave 1 version. -

Let's also consider that if Marvel/Disney/DC etc wanted to go after people who have infringed their ip there are many customisers who produce many MANY figures and sell them publicly on sites such as eBay who are based in the US. Difference being these are invariably printed in genuine Lego but I can guarantee they don't have permission for m the license holders to print figures that are clearly listed as Batman, Iron Man, Spiderman etc. The bootlegs are produced in China so have some level of protection through ignorance of ip laws but if up holders wanted to be zealous there's plenty of targets in their own country. Or does that fact they're printed on genuine Lego make it OK to break ip laws? I buy lots of customs so I hope they're not stopped but there's always that possibility if they wanted to go after everyone. -
I'm sure I didn't spend anywhere near that on it but then again I jumped on the pre-sale quickly. Just checked and it was less than half that.

The way figures are coming how and how sellers are listing them I'm just tempted to wait until I see the actual images to see what you're getting exactly... better than looking at CGI renders of actual Lego figures and getting something poor back. Not that I buy genuine figure copies but it's just more of an indication of the overall quality. -
So here's the Phoenix Customs Luke with both faces photographed... I've also included my original purist version. Apologies for those that don't think the custom images should be here but it was just in answer to a request and as a comparison to my purist version.
-
He always has a presale for his figures... The presale cost is lower than the normal cost. He shows the cgi render for interest. I was probably the first one to buy presale but that and the Bespin Luke didn't get much interest so only printed around 20 of each. The Luke is incredible.
-
One of our very own... Phoenix Customs. It didn't do very well in presale so only around 20 were printed.

Also... those ZHBO Iron Man figures... aren't they just clones of old bootlegs including SY's old Rescue figure? -
I know this isn't a purist figure as it's a custom print but I just wanted to post it to show Ironfish the Finn hair used for Lando:

Send me your address and I'll send you one for free! It's actually sat on my desk after sorting stuff out from my move. I promised it a long time ago so about time I sent it! -
Also... when looking at $ to £ or € ratio then please take into account sales tax in that area. For us UK buyers the price you see is the price you pay but we don't take into account the sales tax that will be added onto the $ price when purchasing. I remember that surprise when arriving at a cashier in Canada. I know that may not detract from the general pricing issue but It's just for 'Well if you think it's a lot for you then it's more for me' comments.

LEGO Batman Movie CMF Series (2017) Rumors and Discussion
Robianco replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
Personally I'd be happy with a 16 figure Batman CMF line with all variants of Batsuits. ;) Seriously though... the fact that this is happening at all is fantastic. I can't see the wave of sets being as large as the Lego Movie but it doesn't need to be to give us the full range of characters we've seen in the trailers so far. Just how many Batman variants and other heroes and villains can we seriously expect with a full set wave and CMF line? -

Rogue does look very good and is probably only second to the Eclipse Grafx custom with regards to Rogue figures. Is that the first actual photo of the DLP CW Spidey though? -

If that is the actual Pogo figure then they have made an astounding effort to improve their quality. Figures of that quality and with their scope of releases would put them top of the tree for me. SY can be fantastic but their design team can be terrible. Clones of genuine Lwgo releases don't interest me as I have every DC figure but even if they clone some of the better digital custom figures then they're the ones to watch.
