  1. That Y-Wing looks great. I've been trying to work out how close to minifig scale it is and it seems a little too large to be true minifig scale but definitely seems closer to it than the system scale version from RO.
  2. That article states it has a 1st June release date too. That's not too far away. Summer wave listings in the sister thread to this have the set numbers ending 75220 and the Interceptor is listed as 75221 in that article.
  3. That description sounds like every other CMF ever released.
  4. Factor in that a good MOC doesn't normally have the restrictions a retail set would have. You can make it as complicated as you like with any amount of build technique but a retail set needs to be able to be built and rebuilt by a much younger age group.
  5. They never have a discount on the newly released UCS set in the May promo. It's a brand new set so they don't need to offer a discount for it.
  6. Yeah. I know what you mean. It's just a little painful to read at the moment. I think the thread was started when things were very much at a 'slight murmur' as it was a theme reboot rather than the regular yearly release threads and it's been a thread that has also had it's fair share of hopeful wish listing because of this. Now we're almost at the release stage of the sets it still feels like the firm rumours i.e. based on a reliable source are at a premium and are difficult to separate from the 'some bloke on the internet' rumours. Hopefully things will calm down once the sets are officially revealed and we can see where the more accurate information came from.
  7. This thread is in serious need of moderation.
  8. Me and you both, mate. I'm about to hit the 30 mark for Stormtroopers.
  9. There is a slight chance that is the case :) If you think that's bad... wait until the stormtrooper arms arrive!
  10. He means he stated in a post that the release would be September when the Italian retailer catalogue has stated it is August.
  11. Same as the Batman Tumbler. Very large set and the information plaque / sticker. The fact it had one of those made people think it was UCS. There's also confusion over whether certain SW UCS sets are actually UCS. I think the Sandcrawler was a UCS and was labelled as such but it didn't have a plaque. Either way I wouldn't worry about it. The price tag should dictate the scale of the set rather than any kind of UCS/D2C label. You got your comment in while my screen was in the background. Exactly this.
  12. Exactly. Just funny to hear about someone stating the prices seem to be aimed at Lego wanting the line to be cancelled when that seems to be exactly what they're doing.
  13. Let's just see how many of these they produce in future waves. ;)
  14. Did Lego just get round making Peeves in the earlier releases by him just being a ‘ghost’. So basically Peeves in all but name? I wonder could they do that again to include him with this wave?
  15. People were suspicious about RO until it got released. I think Solo could have been awful but I trust Ron Howard to put together a good movie.
  16. That majority of Lego on eBay isn't fake. Although there is some bootleg stuff on there... but it's usually easy to spot. It doesn't matter whether anyone believes tha figure is real or not. Interesting how people are happy to believe it's real if it's photographed as a one off on Instagram but if someone sells one then it's definitely a fake. After years of these kind of things I've called quite a few figures out that people claimed to be new and unreleased (anybody remember the Joker Nurse or the Lex Luthor in prison overalls?) but this looks very real to me. I'd still recommend waiting and picking it up in the set as I don't see the point in paying that for the figure just to own it a few months early when it'll be much cheaper and part of an overall better experience to get it in the full set.
  17. You really need to ask? If the image on Instagram is considered genuine then it's in hand and has been printed. If they've printed one then they've probably printed hundreds/thousands. Do you know how expensive it is to pad print a minifigure? It's not a digitally printed figure and the artwork is perfect. Doesn't strike me as the usual cheat rush job. I'm more inclined to think this is a genuine figure that has been stolen from a factory (probably in Mexico looking at the location of the seller). Don't be surprised to find more people selling these in the coming weeks/months if a batch of them have been removed from the factory early. There were a lot of new sellers from Mexico that popped up last year with lots of new figures months before their release... it's also the reason I joined a Mexican Lego Facebook Marketplace as things were being sold far in advance... and very cheaply. I never did buy anything from them but as it was a closed group I got to see what was doing the rounds. Seller on eBay also has Lex Luthor, Jessica Cruz and Incredibles 2 unreleased figures in their store.
  18. I really don't think anybody needs to worry about the HP sets being a limited run. They're making a big deal out of this and they'll have shelves full of them... as will every single retail partner and toy shop. I also don't think we need to worry about the merits of any of the extended HP Wizarding World media such as the Cursed Child and whether it will get a set (or is worthy of one). This thread is being allowed to run it's own course even with off topic stuff and wishlisting. Let's not clutter it up too much.
  19. Freudian slip or accurate description?
  20. To be fair this thread is at 111 pages without a single thing being released... that LOTR thread was at around 160 pages by the time the line ended. 30 or so pages after that were people complaining about it's cancellation and then there's been 20 or so pages as a trickle in the two years since that mainly happened.
  21. While 110 pages of content here would indicate interest in the theme on this site I wouldn't hold it as an indicator of a line's success. Are we looking at around 100 people commenting on this thread? Less? Even if they all bought each set it's not much to go on. I personally think HP will be a success more down to the events of the past year such as the 20th Anniversary event at Kings Cross, every day of the History of Magic exhibition at the British Library being a lock out for tickets, The success of The Cursed Child, Pottermore, The Wizarding World tour etc. HP is huge. Massive. It's turned it author into one of the richest women in the world and has maintained a fanbase across many age groups all across the world. If you want to equate it to Star Wars then it's like the prequels. Derided by many adults and fans on the original trilogy (me included... I still think they're poor), but loved by the kids they were made for... well those kids now have disposable income and they're the ones looking for companies such as Hot Toys to make PT characters now at £200 a pop (while ST characters warm shelves). Those kids who were 10 -15 when HP was released now have kids... and they're introducing HP to those kids. Fantastic Beasts is helping this by bringing a new movie experience to those kids. Do I think kids walking into a toy shop will buy Harry Potter lego? Yes I do. And Adults.
  22. I visited the Lego store in Liverpool. You’re only going to get the pod and the minifig factory set from Lego brand stores.
  23. Definitely still in stores. I just picked up Yoda's Hut and two Imperial Battle Packs (along with a CMF) to quality for the £55 spend for the Factory set along with the Vader Pod.
  24. Can we please stop complaining about the Black Card VIP offers? Especially in a thread like this. Let’s just see what is offered when the year is out... these are just some extras that are to be offered at some point but certainly aren’t the reason anybody bought the Falcon. It’s April... let’s see where we are when the offer period ends.
  25. I’m thinking that’s complete guesswork based on wishlists and people who were trying to push the ISD this year back to next year. I don’t believe anybody outside of people at Lego would have any idea of the 2019 releases at this point... and they’re not telling.
