Bloody Star Wars and their bloody canon... Since when has Wenton Chan NOT been Red Eleven?!?!?! We even see him sat in an X-Wing for f***s sake! I'll set the artwork up for Surrel myself if I have to...

I read through this thread during a bout of insomnia around 4am but was too tired to actually type anything. If you ask any child about Bond they'll know who he is... he's the spy with the gadgets who saves the world. Even the cinematic version isn't the heavy drinking misogynist he was in Ian Fleming's books. The Bond from the films is no different from Indiana Jones, or Han Solo.. and certainly no different from Ethan Hunt. A spy who saves the world and kills bad guys. There's no difference. None. As above... A-Team, Mission Impossible... all the same. The Solo movie is an excellent film and we have several sets from it. It is the story of an orphan who's fighting to get out of a life of theft and criminality. He joins an army, probably kills people during that time. Gets involved in a criminal gang. Robs something. Has a love interest. He steals more stuff. The issue of sex between people and robots is discussed. Double cross. Killing. More killing. Good guy wins. We even have Pirates of the Caribbean. Murderous thieves who kill for fun and we actually root for them as they're less devious and reprehensible than the British (I am far less devious and reprehensible I'll have you know!) but they're OK to have figures of? I think there was actually more profanity in Ghostbusters than in the Bond Films. And if we really want to judge Bond against an existing figure... I give you The Joker. A mass murderer. We've got an exact figure of a killer who shoved someones head into an upturned pencil in a movie. We've got a figure that represents the character that crippled Barbara Gordon and took photos of her broken, naked body to try and turn Commissioner Gordon insane. We've got the Joker that beat Jason Todd's Robin almost to death and set a bomb in the warehouse that ultimately killed him. If we're fine with all the above being age appropriate then I think we're OK with Bond.

Haha... well... yeah. Most of them. There’s loads of pilots that have just been given names over the years and you have no way of knowing who was who just based on watching the OT movies. I think over the last few years things have been smoothed out and Rogue One gave them an opportunity to give some faces to names. Snowspeeder pilots are worse!! You only have to look at starwars.com and the amount of pilots named when we only actually see 6 pilots or gunners during the battle. Hobbie is mentioned over the radio but you don’t see him. There’s a few of them in the briefing that have been given names but you don’t see helmets for most of them. One thing to note is the names of pilots during Rogue One are very close to the actors playing them: Simon Farnaby is Farns Monsbee Zarene Dallas is Zal Dinnes Benjamin Hartley is Harb Binli

I think they're due out later this week. I asked earlier and there's a small batch of Dress and Dinnes ready to go. I think they'll just be getting the Krail helmets ready and then setting the page up on the site. I think the main problem with the new caps would be matching the paint colour to the old grey. They'd have to be sprayed up before printing. I'll stick with requesting more helmets. :)
-
It's definitely red. I've taken some of the saturated colour out but it's certainly brighter red than Jon D's helmet. I'll take a photo and upload later on.
-
Whoops... yeah. Forgot about Sandtroopers too.
-
Well the BL order arrived. FS Arms added along with Zal Dinnes helmet. Dreis, Antilles, Darklighter, Brannon, Skywalker, Porkins, Binli, Dinnes, Naytaan, Nett, Chan & Naeco.
-
They do. I have to say I'm increasingly impressed by the print quality they're getting out of their digital press. The Zal DInnes helmet I've just received is really good. The flat red could be pad printed on looking at it. Completely flat colour. I don't know if they continually have to clean and calibrate the printer to keep it looking that good but I hope they carry on doing it. Although I was slightly better off financially when I dismissed it due to being digital. ;)
-
Group shot. 11 down. 22 to go! Just a BL order away from having the entire Yavin Red Squadron available.
-
I think it’s the Rogue One Visual Guide.
-
Cassian Andor’s head works quite well for him
-
I think the Dreis, Krail and Dinnes helmets are going to be the batch of three for now. I think the printing has to be done in three stages so it’s time consuming. Especially with the arms and heads they’re also doing. I have always been cautious about digital print after early Poppunkmunky figures had very raised print... but I’m really happy with these. I think FS have done a great job in filling our pilot ranks. and no... I don’t work for them. :)

If it’s a Bond based DB5 then it would be great to see some of the gadgets like the bulletproof screen, revolving number plates, machine guns behind lights etc. As other have also said, if we’ve had the Joker in any set we can have Bond. Same as Indy. If it gets a few iconic sets such as the DB5 or the Esprit I’d also be really happy.
-
If you’re happy with Firestar parts then your Dinnes option won’t be out of the question for long...
-
I've got 6 Zin Evalon and another Theron Nett on their way to me. With the Luke and Biggs bodies from the upcoming X-Wing that will give me 9 more X and Y Wing Pilots to work with. Binli, Dinnes and Naytaan first. Verlaine will be second Merrick helmet so a little wait for that one. I've also got a couple of the female pilot heads on the way. Same as LegoAldo there's an older Luke Red Five helmet on the way for Ommis. I've got around 16 pairs of pilot arms on the way too. I should have 10 pairs of the Stormy arms at the same time so I'll get to get a group shot of Stormies with those and E-11s.
-
You mean Red Eleven Ralo Surrel or Green Twelve Wion Dillems? Yeah. I've seen that reference for Verlaine. Definitely getting used for that. Even more reason to pick up several of the Merrick figures.
-
The Merrick head will be very useful when released in the Advent Calendar. Merrick, Ommis and Keir Santage! The Biggs head will work for Harb Binli.
-
Is there a head for Mr Freeze in white that would work?
-
OK... I am VERY out of the loop on Batman related sets but what set is that new figure leak from? It almost looks Arkham Knight in it’s design.

I knew it was 'somewhere' CC Thanks for the pass! ;) Definitely an autocorrect issue. I hang my head for any sort of typo. -

I have to say I haven't been remotely interested in the Brickheadz to this point. But there's something about this new wave that really looks good. Bespin Luke looks great with that colouration, Leia looks simple but really nice and Fett is actually better than the SDCC version. I'd be tempted to pick that up and try and get the Solo carbonate printed parts done digitally to build that up to go with it. The Swoop Bike set really does look nice but I'm more looking forward to the Hoth Medical Bay set. It really should have been part of the UCS Hoth set but I'm not sure whether the desire to include that new version of Leia in the UCS Falcon first led to it becoming a separate thing. -
I've been posting over in the SW Updating Figures thread but figured this was appropriate there too. Pharl McQuarrie as seen at Echo Base: Riekann body, Dumbledore head, Tarkin hair
-
For anyone with some extra parts... Riekann body / Dumbledore head / Captain Stacy hair... I give you Pharl McQuarrie

The pink uniform is actually based on a character that Cat has been developing over the years and this is her Rebel Pilot incarnation. She very kindly sent me on of those helmets so she’ll be in a regular flightsuit and be one of my Legends pilots. Ha... that made me laugh. Fingers crossed the HP line reboot may give us a better version. I have a custom figure printed by a Flickr member called Hammerstein NWC who developed his own characters... this head might suit:

I know what the next helmet will be and it’s also a Red Squadron helmet. In fact along with the T-16 helmet and the second blue firebird helmet it’s the mast one we’ll need for a full Yavin Red Squadron. Get your female pilot heads ready. The only flesh head I can think of like that is the old Mad Eye Moody HP head.
