  1. That's the same seller... they added that second photo recently. I think they've done a really good job on those Definitely upped their game and the Future Foundation Spidey isn't copied from either the Christo or the Muddy River which is surprising as the Human Torch is a clone of Legion of Minifigs version. They've definitely copied the Black Widow Christo head there for The Invisible Girl. If you like the quality of the Decool stuff then the Sheng Yuan stuff will amaze you! I think their QC is much better and their moulds match Lego much better too. If Sheng Yuan made a series of SDCC exclusives I think it would sell tremendously well. They've done the NYTF figures and I don't feel the need to spend huge amounts as the £4 the 2 figures cost me look almost identical to the real thing. If I thought it was possible I'd supply SY with the artwork for each figure myself! That's also the first time I've seen the back of some of those figures... especially the Green Arrow... It's nice that they got the design so close. In fact... having NOT seen those I'm wondering if the designer had those figures in their possession rather then copying from Internet images.
  2. I think it's a raffle... get a ticket and keep your fingers crossed. I'm not sure how people ended up with all 4 SH figures along with Azog though. I'm sure our Chinese bootleg friends will come up trumps with this if all else fails!
  3. I think wishing for a license to end just to make money on what you've picked up is a pretty strange way of looking at it. How about just enjoying the license and the sets and the minifigures? Old, rare figures are going to make you a fortune anyway if you don't want to keep them... Just sell the Cloud City figures and you're in profit already! BrickLink will always be around to sell figures if people want them. With Lego now considering Super Heroes as an evergreen series your hope of the license ending in the next 4 years is pretty much over. Lots more Batmans to buy along with those Justice League figures!
  4. I think I'll pay a trip to the Liverpool Lego store tomorrow to bother them about the August release and see if they spill anything. Fingers crossed.
  5. I've never had this happen to a decal. I've always applied a very thin layer of clear acrylic spray to seal the inks before trimming them and dropping in water to remove from the backing... I've also never messed around too much with the torso being clean. They've normally always been clean enough anyway. I've applied the decal and smoothed it out a little to remove big areas of water and air bubbles. then pretty much left it to air dry and not mess with it too much. After it's dry I then give the torso/legs another coat of the spray to help seal everything.
  6. I've done this loads of times... It always confuses me a little when a seller has component parts for much less than an actual figure. The SSD figures were like this... Dengar and Admiral Piett were much cheaper to pick up the parts for then getting the actual figures. I got the parts for several of them, sold the spare ones and ended up with my figures and an actual profit.
  7. I'm going to have fire on these until they drop a bit. I'd also wait until someone has photos of them that aren't Photoshopped and cropped from a previous image of the leaflet. Not that I think they don't have them... but they may not have them in hand... they're getting in quick as the first seller to charge a premium. One thing from the box artwork... I think they've coped Christo's Black Widow head for the Invisible Girl... it's identical to his design... interested to see how good the print is on these. I think it's the first time they've done their own copies from a Lego game. If they get the design and print right then these could actually be quite good.
  8. As comprehensive a reply as one could expect! I think it just confirms that the content of the cases is just 'stuff'... Not comprehensive of prototype models or of approved models... Just a mixture of both. At least it should kill the use of it as some kind of glimpse into what we could expect. I'm glad I'm not the one that brought the image up in the first place...
  9. I have a Canon MG5350... Canon and Epson printers are both capable of fantastic photo quality images but it always helps with the right paper so make sure any stickers you get are inkjet compatible. You'll also want to check whether you want gloss or matt stickers. It may be worth giving them a coat of a clear acrylic varnish or spray to help seal them or they run the risk of running if they get wet in any way.
  10. That's the thing about that photo of the studio... who knows what the criteria is for putting items into those cabinets? Orthanc is in the background so we know that is an example of an upcoming set but there's a ton of things in the front SW cabinet... the UCS Probe Droid, Medical Droid, 2 different Snowspeeders, 2 system scale AT-ATs, numerous figures on speeders, two different versions of the Sandcrawler... we're not talking about all UCS sets being there... or them just being reserved for prototype builds... They may even change the cabinets monthly. The Watto bust may have been the first large build by a particular designer so it stays... same as the Slave1... Maybe they keep things that are planned in the near future (2-5 years) in the cabinets as part of the ongoing design process. Not every model in those cabinets will be a future release... but it doesn't mean that at some stage they weren't built as a potential release. My original post was just in response to someone mentioning that that ship was a 'leaked' image... I'm surprised nobody has jumped on the Red Tie Interceptor as a leaked image of something for the Rebels sets!
  11. The Watto bust is probably another example of something being created to answer a brief... I personally find the busts odd but seeing as they released one it wouldn't surprise me if they looked to make some none human shaped characters. It didn't get made as a joke but it's success as a build is down to the design team... It just never got released. If ever there's a rumour of future busts I'm sure someone will crop that photo and ask the same question about a potential option!
  12. Ha! Yeah... We could always start that rumour with a crop of the pic and a 'leaked' story...
  13. It's an interesting point... And potentially a fantastic thread. Even these images shown actually make me like the minifigures more knowing that they were part of the design process even if not the final version. Someone mentioned in the SW forum that the new Rebels figures are our version of getting McQuarrie concept drawing as minifigures similar to the Hasbro release.
  14. The Mini Cooper is getting released here in the UK on the 1st August... If there is to be another large set (assuming that we can count the Mini as one) is it normal to release something like that on the same day as a D2C set from one of the licensed themes? I know that's what the VIP purchase option is at the end of July rather than one of the rumoured UCS sets from the Super Heroes or Star Wars lines. At least in the UK.
  15. Though it might seem blindingly obvious if people are going to refer to 'leaked' pictures and then post that shot then apparently it still needs saying. The fact that the model was kept and displayed means there's enough of that build that the design team liked unless they keep all models that have answered a particular brief regardless of its 'success'.
  16. It's such a minefield... I'd normally judge whether a set it UCS as to whether that's the BEST set Lego are going to make of a particular ship etc... Less so places... But in the instance of the Ewok Village a £300 set is pretty much as big and as complete as that's going to get so you could consider it a UCS I suppose. I don't really care whether a set is UCS or not as I'm not going to limit what I buy by a particular label etc... I must admit I love the last system scale TIE and it's nicely scaled to the figure but I'm sure it's not the largest version of that ship they're going to do. I definitely wouldn't let that put me off buying it as it's a superb set.
  17. If there IS a UCS Slave 1 then it'll be finished somewhere in Billund and probably out for parts collection and packaging printing etc... that image is NOT the UCS Slave 1. Maybe the first iteration of a planned version many years ago but I find it amazing how people can just jump on that detail from the larger image of the design studio at Billund many years ago and somehow think it's a leaked image of any new product.
  18. Judging by the change in numbering for those sets it looked like that set had been dropped. The next in line is apparently the Future Foundation set but we'll see what Decool have planned.
  19. Now you just need the celebration Leia from the Y-Wing set! ;) The new Luke is a slight remake of the very first Luke released (which may have been the first Star Wars figure Lego did... but I'm happy to be corrected). It's also the anniversary of Lego and Star Wars so although it's retro (and yellow) it seemed apt. The new Sith Lego book will have an exclusive Emperor. Tesco stores here in the UK have had a double pack of the SW books with both Han and Luke figures included for around £7 for a while... they've just gone up to £9 for the set.
  20. Whoops! Other way round! My fault for skipping between threads too quick! I mean to say the Logan and Juggernaut for you... and the Yellowjacket from King Pixel!
  21. The Sabretooth and the Juggernaut are just two of the stars here. I'll have the Juggernaut and Logan done myself when the parts arrive from a BL order. I'm also making a Yellowjacket from Agoodfella's customs. Kingpin and Banner are 2 others that are getting done. You've got to love Indy's torsos for these customs!
  22. I must admit I find the curves on there a little too distracting. While the shape is technically close to Slave 1 the patchwork effect of smaller curves somehow takes away from the overall look.
  23. I've just ordered the parts for that Yellowjacket myself as I had a spare Red Robin head. I've ordered the legs from the swimmer CMF though so they have more of a 'pants' appearance. That's the plan anyway!
  24. When I was doing a little decal work I also got a clear acrylic spray to seal the decals. If I paint something I normally spray a thin coat of the acrylic spray and that seals it.... for good!
  25. I've just commented on the head image... definitely think the first one. Have them at the right price and I'll happily be ordering! ;)
