  1. Nice little set. I assembled it yesterday but I noticed that the print on the torso's of the elves don't match the pictures in the instructions and on the box
  2. I really like those old houses. I own that snack bar. Love to see what you are gonna show next.
  3. I see your plan is getting along nicely and getting shape. You could axe the station to keep the brick count down. Just a little platform. Maybe Lego will add a trainstation to the WInter Village themselves if a train would exist. Try to find ways to get the brick count low by cutting corners on the build of models. Also try to use common bricks so there is no need for new molds.
  4. Looks nice but for a Winter Village set it might be a bit too big. That could be a problem for marketing reasons.
  5. dr_spock could we expect some pictures off you window display? Back on topic: I would love a Winter Village train set. That would really finish it off in my book.
  6. I love the Winter Village sets and already planning a big lay out for them. And I am just enoyed with myself for not buying the holiday train. So I am really curious about this project.
  7. A lovely creation Tijger-san. I really like the details of the interior. And I wonder what those tables in the lounge are made off?
  8. A nice collection I am almost tempted to make you an offer.
  9. A beautiful showpiece. I just love the look of it and I can't wait to see the entire winter display.
  10. I love what you are doing to restore this train. I own one and I am still looking for the 7815 passengers/sleeper carriage to make it complete. But keep up the good work restoring old vintage sets I remember all too well.
  11. Am I a member of a LUG: No, I would like to be I don't think I would find the time to be an active member. And I would hate to be a sleeper member. Would I like to support the online community? Yes I would but again time doesn't allow me this luxury. I was asked to do an review of an old 1971 trainset I own but I still haven't got around to it almost 2 years later.
  12. Nice collection and a very nice display. Watching collection like this makes me wish I could go back in time and tell my younger self to buy more 12v trains in stead of comics, strips or transformers.
  13. I loved the 12V trains I wished I bought more of them but for now I only have 2. (I also own the 171 by the way). But growing up I had to make some tough decisions what to do with my money. I bough all sorts of LEGO, books, comics and later on Transformers. Looking back I wished I only bought LEGO and especially 12V trains. I don't own the books, comics en Transformers no more but all what is left from childhood is my LEGO. The positive thing is I own a lot of track for 12v. the downside is one of the engines is broken beyond repair. But I love seeing your collection.
  14. A very good review of a very nice train. The only downside being you have to buy 2 of these to make the train realistic. Also you would need to convert the diner car, you named eating car, into a passenger car. Strangely enough I once saw the silver edition of this train called The Atlantic at a train-show in Utrecht. That was way back when the TGV was new model train and not a household name. I remember the luxery inside of it. It would have been great if these box would have been that silver version of the TGV. Maybe someone will make a MOC of it. But I am gonna see if my budget will allow me to buy one of these.
  15. The Winter Village Cottage has arrived! The lastest edition to my Christmas scenery. The only problem is I am running out of 12v lights so I will have to find andother way to light my village scenery maybe add led-lights.
  16. For me the 7740 Intercity Passenger train is the best train. It was a joy to play with in my youth. And if you were able to get the extra cars (7819, 7815) is made an impressive train to ride your tracks. I must admit that the Emerald Night and the Maersk look nice but they don't come with fun memories of playing all day with them.
  17. Same here.
  18. Another set to add to my Winter (Christmas) Village collection. But I am running out off 12V lights to lit the village.
  19. 9498 Seasee Tiin's Jedi Starfighter. I have got a shelf full of these Jedi starfighters but I still miss a couple of them.
  20. Thanks for the review. This set is one of those little gems I never knew anything about. But somehow monorail-sets never really caught my attention back in the old days. And now reading your review I wish I had bought a couple of those sets back then. I wouldn't probably sell it but keep it just in case somewhere in the future you would be able fit it in a scenery. And my congratulations to Mostlytechnic for graduating to the level of Reviewers Academy teacher. Just keep those reviews coming. And thanks to you this set is going on my "wanted-list".
  21. You are lucky ! I haven't seen one LOTR set in stores here in the Netherlands yet. But that gives me time to save the money I need for the sets. I have also not seen any prices for the Netherlands. But I think after Star Wars this would be a line I would collect. Although I stopped collecting SW after they started reinventing older models. Funny enough it is the line Artic and Winter Village I have complete. 3 Sets each.
  22. Thanks for the review. I want this set now even more then before. Only downside for me is that it needs more troops. More Uruk-Hai en off-course Elves (Haldir is there but no Elves-archers?) and a couple of more Rohan-defenders. Would have loved that Rohan-veteran soldier with the one eye from the movie to be in it.
  23. Nice collection but (a bit off-topic) I noticed the original Transformers especially Grimlock - I used to own about 50 of those Transformers way back in the 80's but I gave them away
  24. i've already seen the new wave of sets in stores here in Holland but I was shocked by the prizes. The store prices are a couple EURO's more then on lego.com.
  25. Nice looking promo-set. Wish we had Lego-stores here. We use to have a couple of specialized toy-stores which had most of the Lego-sets but these days it is really hard to get most of the Lego-sets over here. In the "old-days" toystores had a couple of isles dedicated to Lego but now it's just a few metres. But I really like that promo-set.
