I agree that was really odd they could just have used the normal cat piece, but maybe it was not any money left then for a new color for the cat... Hagrids hut also had a dog included at the toy fair, so it was unfortunate we did not get Fang in that set. On the other hand they may have already made the mould so would be a waste not to include it in a future set

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 20. Rumors and discussion
Roebuck replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The tree-trunk has been in a city set, but not a CMF yet.. Lego knows the costumes is popular so I would not be surprised if they include some in other sets that they not necessarily use in the CMF before or after -

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Roebuck replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I think there is a good chance for that -
Sounds like a likely candidate yes It is only Lego that can make a mountain lion several years before they make a normal lion, but that is part of the fun since we never know what we will get next Ideally we would get a lioness in the small set and a male lion in a bigger set, but I agree it is a male lion or a different animal in the safari set. I do not think they will make a giraffe for such a small set, if it had been a safari sub-theme it would be different regarding new moulds. I believe a lion or a zebra is the best we can hope for, could end up being only a small animal also

Most likely we will get 7 sets like the two first waves. It could be more or one less, but no way it is only 4 Also the CMF and the advent calender is almost guaranteed.. In addition we could get polybags, GWP and D2C if we are lucky Regarding the centaur mould I think maybe they have to make it smaller than the normal horse mould to make the torso fit the horse body without looking to small.. If that is the case it should fit the new CMF bag
-
I assume you are kidding?! Lego would never do something like that That said it is not too bad looking if someone is desperate in need of a centaur and can not wait a year or two for a official one
-
From what I understand the set comes in city next year.. Have not been one since the set in your profile picture I think.. A new mould would be best, but something like a zebra as a recolored horse would also work very well. At the very least include a existing animal, if they do not include a animal it is no safari right

Not in 60267 Safari Off-Roader either?! Come on Lego would be a perfect place to put e.g. a zebra

Roebuck replied to leafan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I am late to the party Why do all the castles entries to Ideas need to be so big a detailed?! Yes, they look god, but a single building usually have a lot more bricks then the biggest medieval castle Lego has made, they do not fit the scale with any other set.. Now pirates finally have a Ideas set approved, it is about time castle get one as well Can not someone that are skilled enough please make a set that goes together with 7189 Mill Village Raid and 10193 Medieval Market Village and please put in a lot of animals while you are at it- 532 replies

OK, did not know that, then it is off course no issue

Do you guys think the new hard batman-cape will be used in future WW sets? Maybe in the CMF for characters with a cape; dementor, Gilderoy Lockhart etc
-
Is a kids toy any better I am sure a lot of male AFOLs buy friends sets, because they are well made and have a lot of parts in rare colours. I would have bought a lot of friends sets myself if it was not for the fact that most of the animals are to unrealistic for my taste (i usually only buy city sets for the animals now)
-
Me too but I think friends will get one before city unfortunately Some boys love animals like myself when I was young, but more like cars, police etc. I think more girls love animals, but since they have friends now it will probably end up there... Not sure how it works, but when they have made new sets they will test them with kids and make adjustments before they are released on the marked..

I am counting on it In addition to going over budget the first year making moulds, they have made some this year also. So the 1 priority stuff have been made already, which means that it is a bigger room in the budget for Stuff like Fang, Fawkes, Padfoot, patronus etc
-
I asked a city designer why we had not seen a farm theme in 10 years, since the last wave was great and a lot of AFOLs would like to see a new wave.. He could not say anything of what is coming off course, but basically other sub-themes did better when they did testing with kids So that was not so promising, but hopefully some farm loving kids are taking part in the test next time farm is in it
-
Probably because they wanted the CMF to have it first! It is not the same wow factor in the CMF series if the mid-legs came in a set earlier. Do not help that the budget came from the CMF then.. The Niffler, Nagini and golden snitch all came in sets the same year, but used the CMF budget on the new moulds. So they could have included the mid-legs in sets also, but that would probably have taken to much of the spotlight from the CMF, not worth it since Hogwarts express is from 1-2 with a few figs from 3 to spice up things

LEGO IDEAS - Dinosaurs Fossils Skeletons
Roebuck replied to Troglodyte's topic in Special LEGO Themes
It is because it is the Lego designer; Niels Milan Pedersen! He has been working at Lego for 39 years I think, and back in the day when Godtfred Kirk Christiansen was around he used to go around in the evening looking at what the workers had done during the day. It was easy to see that he had been there since it was ash from the cigarette on the desk the next morning.. Anyway Niels was designing a new castle at the time and made a dungeon in it and what would be perfect to have down there; a skeleton off course.. So he made the first skeleton minifig and put it in the dungeon.. Then one day he came to work it was ash on his desk and he was called to Godtfred office and he told him if he ever made a dead minifig again he will be fired! So it took many years before a Lego skeleton was made and put in a set.. Niels always have a fedora on, and on the Inside tour I got a signed skeleton fig from him with a fedora hat and even got to see the original first skeleton that he still has On his free time he are making replicas of dinosaur skeletons so he was the perfect Lego designer to make the set (he has been working with making new moulds the last years, so this was his first set in years).. https://jv.dk/artikel/dino-udstilling-ved-byens-fest-niels-har-øje-for-dinosaurer-2018-6-2- 47 replies

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Roebuck replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
"You can't always get what you want But if you try sometimes, well, you might find You get what you need" Lego do that because it is what customers want, so they sell more sets that way! -
OK, then i misunderstood you Regarding the book fig, it is probably another Harry or one of the other main figs as usual.. I find it strange that we in this theme have almost as many books as all the other ones combined, but so far only 1 polybag and 1 GWP set and no one this year E.g. frozen 2 just got a a polybag and a GWP set.. A excellent polybag would be a dementor with a new patronus animal
-
That do not rule out the possibility that we get a basilisk in a future set, with that logic you can say we got a HP minifig in one set so we can not get him in another On the other hand you have a point. If i remember correctly the designers had selected 20 sets they could make for the WW before the first wave. Wave one was year 1-2 and since they put the basilisk in the GH set, they clearly decided against making CoS the first round. Since the sets are selling extremely well Lego will off-course keep making them so we can definitely get a CoS set in a future wave. It is also a hint that so far we have not gotten any of the Cos figs anywhere else not even Ginny, so they are probably saving them for a future CoS set or at least keeping the possibility open to make one later
