Unless you are not actually from Canmore.

That is really good. I use the modified PNLTC sidewalks (two-plate thick, seven-stud wide) so I convert these to straight and corners as needed. I find the curved roadplates not great for city MOCs so I turn the T-Junction into a square corner by plating over the one side.

I think I went through Canmore a couple of times: Canadian Jamboree '81 & World Jamboree'83 in Kananaskis. Welcome aboard.

Digital Tablet reader to view instructions
tedbeard replied to happymark's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I got to borrow an iPad for a week and one of the best functions was using it to build from Brickmania instructions. Way more convenient than any form of laptop/netbook. I will be getting one for sure when I can save up the $$. The iPad is so much more portable, and can be propped up anywhere you are building. It can also be easily carried with you and referenced while searching for parts. The zoom function is much faster and easier to use than anything on a laptop/netbook. In general, for consuming online media, it is amazing and well worth the money. That said, a little cheaper and it would make laptops/netbooks obsolete for 85-90% of users. When they also improve some of the limitations like running multiple apps and downloading .pdf files while in Safari it could replace 95% of laptops/netbooks. -
Instructions: F4U Corsair and SB2C Helldiver
tedbeard replied to Ralph_S's topic in Special LEGO Themes
How did I miss these?!? Thanks for posting, these are fantastic. I really like the Corsair - I spent too many hours as a kid watching Baa Baa Black Sheep. Are you looking for people to help populate the carrier at a specific event(s) or are you just being generous? -
No kidding, the proper rant is the insane cross-border mark-up that has the same LEGO in $Cdn MSRP @ 20% or more above the MSRP in $US. This is why I was said to some LUGmates last night that I saw nothing exciting about the new LEGO store in Calgary and only vague interesst in the rumoured store in Vancouver. Driving across the border to the US instantly makes LEGO at least 20% cheaper. We can get ripped off @ a LEGO-brand store or our local TRU, doesn't really matter when our $$ is basically @ par. OK, that's my semi-annual price discrepancy rant out of the way. Somebody pass me a pick-a-brick cup ...

I don't understand your question. The floors fit together so that they do not slide or move. In terms of the interior there is usually a stairway, or in the case of the Emporium, an escalator that "connects" one floor to the other. Could you be more specific?

Minifg collectors series 2 pics and barcodes
tedbeard replied to Superkalle's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I was thinking a wok with a lid. -
I'm still hoping to get a clown and a magician but somehow I don't think I'll be getting to this shop anytime soon.

Yearly Calender for Lego Events
tedbeard replied to Superkalle's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Don't forget the Google Calendar for LEGO Conventions - one of the several global calendars set up for LUGs to use to share including: Fan Events, Contests, Displays. -
General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
tedbeard replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
Ooooh, another source for zombie heads! That would be great. -
I don't understand this comment and the 7/10 in the review. It's a train. That moves. The "play function" is excellent since it does what it's supposed to do (and has a trap door). What else should it do?

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
tedbeard replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
Actually I see no reason why the hairpiece could not be molded with an integral stud. The hat could be normal and fit on either the hair or a regular head and it would allow the fig to be used without a hat. OK, maybe wishful thinking but even after the disaster of the cool and then horrible Prospector Pete non-hat I still have hope. -
Welcome! The title caught my eye as I have three kids and we live in a family-only apartment/townhouse complex. All the adults are known as "Jane's dad" or "Billy's mom" etc. It gets confusing sometimes when different kids use different children to reference someone. I bumped into a dad and his child away from the complex and she didn't recognize me out of context. I said I was "Sean's dad" but that just confused her until I realized she didn't play with my eldest son. To her I was "Brigid's dad". Anyway, hope you enjoy your new shared hobby.

Hi! Welcome aboard. We have a guy in VicLUG who is making the whole Justice League in minifig form and recently started making Green Lanterns. He has a dozen different ones so far I think. A good way to combine LEGO and comic fandom. -Ted

Too early to talk about NW Brickcon? Maybe
tedbeard replied to Daniel Williams's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Besides the usual general themes The Brother's Brick are sponsoring the "Big in Japan Display". -
You can bring more than one! I assume you are going to bring "rubble" for the first scene. The floors and sidewalks look too tidy. :)

Too early to talk about NW Brickcon? Maybe
tedbeard replied to Daniel Williams's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
I'll be taking my usual van-load of friends and MOCs from Victoria. I'm only now starting to decide what to make/bring. I will try to bring some WWII for Operation Bricklord. I always bring at least a small something for the Castle and Town sections and hopefully another BrickScout camp. -
I did a short review of his new tents if that helps.

There are lots of "eye" stickers. I wonder if something off of this would work:

The boards are kinda slow but non-members only see the "public" side which is very very slow. No matter what your LEGO passion is you are welcome. :)

I picked a few of the Collectible Minifigs up @ the Langford Wally World but I spoke to someone @ T&C who said they are not getting any because of the impending move to the new building. Apparently the ordering system will not send "special" product to locations that are about to be packed up and moved. The Langford store had them on wire racks at the end of one of the toy aisles (not, I recall, the LEGO aisle). They were pretty picked over when I got them over a week ago. As for TRU, nobody there has a clue what I am talking about. I'm starting to think only WM got them. BTW we discussed this on the VicLUG forum, are you not a member? Some of the other guys got a few extras and might be amenable to trades.

If we were going to get a Steampunk theme, what would you want?
tedbeard replied to tchuk-norst's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
A gyrocopter would be a good small set. -
England - home of my great-grandparents and "mother-country". BTW did you notice that something like the sixth largest number of travelers to the World Cup in SA are coming from Canada? And we did not even qualify! Hopefully we will not have to wait as long as N. Korea who last qualified in 1966.

No idea. Once again the "owner" has gone silent. This time just as we were preparing to move the site to a new server to avoid such outages in the future.
