Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
Mandate replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
I had forgotten about the SW stuff... very good, I just wish they were more than 30 min though. I know Yoda Chronicles is 44 minutes total, but it's divided in two parts anyway. Regarding the City stuff, they used to be funny until the Museum Heist set came out. Dunno if they've changed their style back to the original one, because I haven't watched any since.- 4,591 replies

Oh har har... that was my own link I thought you guys were talking about an English version...

What? On TV? Or on the web? If the latter, what website?

$5-$10 mark-up? What are you doing!? HURRY UP AND BUY THEM All jokes aside, don't think $5-$10 is that big of a mark-up right now considering you're getting them nearly two months early not including S@H's release date.

Eugh, don't remind me of those... Before NINJAGO became insanely popular that was all they did. In fact, it's still all they do, look at Hero Factory and its show. Can't comment on Friends, I've never seen that, but yeah, CITY, HF, etc get really cruddy ones.- 4,591 replies

No, actually. The character placements are different, similar they may be but they are very different.
-
I don't think that classifies as spoilers, other than that the Battle of Five Armies will take place in the 3rd film (which was already widely speculated anyway). Most people already know that Smaug dies in the Hobbit, and those who haven't read the book or heard of the books have realized it anyway, Smaug is the antagonist and the antagonist usually dies, and being a massive dragon it would be almost certain Smaug would die.

LEGO has already uploaded the new episodes in another language. Yeah, yeah, different language, but better than nata: https://www.youtube....h?v=vVZerDHuAG0 EDIT: Description says something about 2014, I'll get a trans. later. ShadoWind appears later, and so does one of Cragger's parents (out of the gorge) EDIT 2: Description says "20th part of the popular TV series - tales of fantasy world Chima. On the new episodes to look forward to in the spring of 2014!" So yeah, this is the finale. Can't say I'll miss the series, but the battle sequence looks really lame. EDIT 3: Well, I'm not gonna spoil much else, but from the way the voice acting was done it sounds like there's some sort of prophecy regarding the outlands and Mt Cavorah. EDIT 4: They do the pact, and the "cloud" returns. Lamest finale I've ever seen. Terrible final battle, stereotypical "main character dies but the returns and saves the day" sequence, terrible reintroduction of a character, etc. Just horrible.

Eh, I'm just glad we are getting another season. Looks pretty good, considering they've had all year to work on it.- 4,591 replies

Pixal is very... robotic, as of yet. But I'm pretty sure that's because of her job seemingly as a secretary, and if/when she allies with the ninja (be it permanent or temporary) she'll become more life-like. Although it seems that effect is already starting, considering Jay thinks she likes Zane- 4,591 replies

Maybe we'll get lucky and there'll be no finale. (no offense Chima fans, but that's the way half the LEGO lines end and believe me... with the way Chima is going it might be better to not know what they had planned anyway)
-
Wow, I can see a lot of the new plot tying together. From the way that Cyrus was acting, it seems he was under pressure from the new villian, or the Overlord, whatever we're getting. Glad to hear the new soundtrack. It really still gets the NINJAGO-style of the previous soundtracks right. I was worried we'd get another "The Sacred Flute", "Zane VS the Juggernaut" or the one that Lloyd plays during Episode 3. Anyway, I assume Cole transforms a Nindroid Mech into the Earth Mech. There's no other real explanation for why a mech was roaming the streets of NNC. It's frightfully obvious now how Sensei gets kidnapped. He's woefully unequipped for Nindroids. I wish they would have just taken away Lloyd's powers after the Final battle instead of making him take the backseat again. That's just getting annoying now. Hopefully Zane's father hasn't died in the time difference between Season 3 and 4, the lack of him is somewhat worrying in that regard. Looking forward to seeing the Falcon again soon. Oh, and the December premier has been cancelled. According to the descr., the premier will happen in 2014.

Yeah, I noticed that too. So it's confirmed now that it is (or, well, was, now) a finale?- 4,591 replies

Wait, so because the Short Nindroid has parts other figs use, doesn't that mean we can basically call not a single 'fig from Chima "exclusive"? Seeing as each tribe shares basically every piece with other members of their tribe... (the only exception being Ewald) The only real reason I don't like this set is because it just does not look right. That being said, I'll get it if I have the chance. Am I the only one who sees a major resemblance between it and a certain Mars Mission set? Caterpillar track base, disk launcher, swivel cockpit and robot arms... etc
-
What? Yeah, normal Zane. Exclusive 'fig.

Probably after Chima gets its finale. We'll get it either next month or in January.- 4,591 replies

Just because of the inclusion of hair pieces does not make this line more "exclusive". Different colored hoods can still be exclusive to certain minifigs, even if the part is not even new. Eg, 2013 wave

The lion tribe does indeed have female members, featured as far back as the first episode of the Show, if I recall correctly.

Well, actually, that grainy texture is meant to be chrome, uneven chrome at that. In the sets it's just straight up gray. And I have said twice now about Cyrus' chair being almost identical to the set version. Anyway, I would advise we move the conversation of the TV show to the TV show thread in the Culture and Multimedia forum before this thread gets too spammy.
-
No, I mean, for instance, compare the Golden mech to its set version. While still a huge amount of differences, it's closer to the set aesthetics than, say, the Storm Fighter, the Bounty etc. Cyrus' chair is almost an exact replica of the set version, and heck even some of the stuff from season 3 that WASN'T released was designed closer to an actual set design than in the past, mainly the Stone Army's drill and saw blade vehicles. Even the Megaweapon seemed to be designed with a set approach in mind. EDIT: Also, they've always had a fair amount of texture on the 'figs, if anything removing it would be closer to the actual designs.
-
Glad to see that since the last half of Season 3 they've been taking a more LEGO-y approach to the stuff in the show.
