You all won't be so happy when Takanuva shows up and his character consists of "he sneezes a lot" XD Also just read on TTV twitter that lewa was initially master of air, but was changed to jungle cos "that's what people associate with green" GodDammit lego -_-

Well, Hiker mike and onepu live on through kopaka and Onua, so I'm happy. The pics on the facebook page showing off the alternate weapon functions are cool. Tahu still has his bulldog face though. :/ The fact that there are web animations rather than a series makes me worry about the characterisation in them (it will no doubt be fine in the story/books, but these shorts....) with limited runtime, these shorts could easily evolve into demonstrations of the new "comedy" elements to the toas' characters. I'm already picturing an entire episode dedicated to onua's snoring. Oh god why. >.<

Ok, the animated form of the toa look pretty damn fitting. AND they're not chibis! EDIT: solid gold kanohi hmm? Guess that means the mould for the MoCr is already done.

ok... thoughts... Glad they're called toa Onua's character trait is that he sleeps a lot? (please don't be like the bears from chima, please don't be like the bears from chima!) Kopaka is... clumsy? new one on me, hopefully none of these guys get demoted to comic relief. Why does pohatu's bio keep mentioning strength? he's the speed one lego! You also made him tiny, and Onua giant. Lewa has power over jungle AND air? dayum. Gali is kind but humourless. I hope this means she's doesn't understand humour, rather than just tells really bad jokes. That would be the ruination of her. EDIT: dat toyfair level posing. Gali has insect legs now XD

Also: the form of Makuta that has purple is the form we will most likely never get as a set. :P

Didn't know that, thought they were stuck as green gloop. I assumed the mask of shadows gave him all his illusion powers.

Wasn't that a disguise? and didn't he also appear as a flying mass of black parts in the same game? I've not actually played it, but I got the sense that his large 03 armour was his true form.

In their tongue he is Makuta, rahiborn :P Oh, and his name's Makuta, not Teridax. Shame. I seem to be the only one who actually preferred the latter.

3 masks. lego will continue it as long as it makes them money. They are more than willing to pull new plot point out of their hindquarters if it allows them more time. Oh, and I like how they even bothered to put a gear on Ekimu's back. So, given that these 2 seem to be semi-normal citizens of the island, do we reckon they're actual biological brothers this time? Or at least closer than "robot and his computer virus"?

I just noticed that Makuta grew when he put on the mask of ultimate power, so yeah, looks like he may not be a midget in set form after all :) that would be... Incredibly anticlimactic.

So do we reckon Makuta is behind the skull spiders, or is just a figure in the past, who isn't the villain of the actual line? Cos he's kinda asleep AND maskless right now... Although, mask of control screams rahi army, so maybe someone has already found his....

Welp, Okoto is almost identical to mata nui. Again I ask, why the name changes at all then? There's something really amusing to me about the incredibly grandiose mask of creation being worn by a tiny chibi XD And yeah, going by the animation, they look to share torso design with the protectors, so they ARE as small as they look. Wha?.... Were they Matoran or something? I certainly hope that if these two DO get sets, they are titan sized. Matoran size simply isn't fitting for characters with any sort of gravitas. Didn't all the winging about the Bionicle Stars teach you that. Lego?

Ok guys, 3 of you have uploaded it in a row now, we get it XD. So... 3 legendary masks.... that's cool. Can't take that animation remotely seriously though. The supposed god-tier mask makers look like toddlers. Also makuta was apparently a dragonborn. But WHY exactly is Makuta still Makuta, but Ekimu not mata nui or Artakha? You know, names that I don't want to laugh at. he even has the mask, colour scheme and weapon of Artakha -_- Still, if this animation style means we get a decent length series rather than a few specials, I won't complain. Otherwise, should have stuch with set accurate CGI in my book.

Some of these tweets sound too ridiculous to be true, but we'll see I guess. Also, that animation... can't really be anything else BUT a show, seeing as lego would never use that art style for a commercial. Shame they went for 2D rather than TLR style though. Oh, and Okoto I can deal with, but Ekimu? that just sounds daft. But both brothers are asleep? how is Makuta doing anything then?

Bizarrely the hype train sounds far more mundane when you find out it was just travelling to new york all this time. It was in space before for crying out loud. XD Can't wait to see what comes of this. Like the pictures we got a little bit ago too. Nice to see that the toa have alternate uses for their weapons, including a foot based one for Pohatu (though I've never seen someone use 2 hoverboards at once before). Wonder what Kopaka's gonna do with is weapons...

As great as earth protector looks, this now means we STILL don't have a proper purple mask. WHY?! I am also warming to the new pakari, but really lego? sticker or printing on the chest again? why not just make a detailed piece rather than essentially drawing detail on a plain one. it just looks cheap and nasty, always has. At least Onua seems to have a lot going on in his torso. Loving the cave village as well. Rejoice!

Bionicle Characters take the phrase "you're only as old as you feel" to heart. Takua is ancient, but physically younger than the toa nuva. Likewise, Helryx is the oldest Toa, but physically younger than the Turaga (for some reason, becoming a Turaga mimics advanced aging, and also makes you more crotchety to boot, seriously, would anyone believe the Turaga from MoL used to be toa?) I thought Jaller's voice and personality fitted him just fine. He was like Laval from Chima, but infinitely smarter and less annoying. He still had a bit of his uptight captain-of-the Royal Guard-ness, but felt youthful too, which made sense for the hero of the future rather than the present. In my view, Matoran only grow old when they've settled into the role they were meant to play. Anyone with a destiny still left to complete should be young. This fits in with the whole mata nui robot thing too. Only the cells with no function left can age or die.

So Okoto is confirmed eh? Sounds cool enough, vaguely Japanese sounding. Animation wise, I'd prefer the TLR style that was accurate to the sets, as long as they stop putting mouth holes In the masks for no reason. You can tell who is talking without them. All they do is show part of the ugly head underneath. gresh got infinitely uglier the instant he opened his helmet.
