It would certainly be cool to get vehicles in the summer wave, I had immense fun with the 09 ones. But the return to the 2001 feel makes me think it's unlikely.

I've said it once and I'll say it again. Removing the established gender norms for the elemental tribes is good. Changing the gender of specific pre-existing characters is stupid, and benefits nothing. Him calling Onua female isn't "a choice" or anything, it's just factually incorrect. I don't just choose whether people I know are male or female in my eyes, because it's not up to me. The character of Onua is male. Calling him otherwise isn't debatable, it's just incorrect.

The writers clearly didn't know what to do with Bulk. They kept saying he was the smartest in savage planet, with no actual demonstration of this. This was the guy who hid BEHIND EXPLOSIVES in 1.0. Luckily enough, all the heroes were stripped of character entirely in invasion from below. Sorry if I've missed something, but why do you keep referring to Onua as "she". It hasn't happened. Anyway, I liked Pohatu and Onua in Mol, they felt like actually good friends, though I will admit Onua should have been a bit wiser rather than burly miner type, but I loved the super upbeat Pohatu.

That's me XD Seriously though, I'm hoping we get a less preliminary view of the sets on Friday, maybe new cgi, or packaging images, perhaps with the sets themselves saved for comic-con, assuming that's Bionicle.

As the TTV guys pointed out, reveal and unveil are 2 different words. It could be that on Friday, they just say "yeah, we're doing this" and that comic con Is when they'll actually show the sets.

did you just quote your own post, within the same post? XD Anyway, Gali does look a bit like her MoL self, which is weird, as all the others look like their mata forms.

I really wonder why it changed so much, when Tahu and Kopaka's changed so little? I was comparing it to the nuva this whole time, but realising that this is the mata kanohi... yeah, its unrecognisable.

I will say, this image makes me like Lewa's new mask a LOT more. for some reason, it looks much better here than it does on the actual set. maybe it's because the weird mouth circle is covered by all that foliage...
-
all this makes me wonder what It is that makes a mask feminine. Much of the community, myself included, consider the faxon to be one of the most feminine kanohi. It's one of the most overused masks for female mocs, and yet it was reused flawlessly on lesovikk. So why do we see such a clearly genderless mask as feminine in appearance? The same thing happened with Breez's face. It looks feminine once you KNOW she's female, but can be used on male mocs just fine.

I knew it reminded me of something! Hopefully it looks less derpy in set form, without the cgi eyes, cos right not his facial expression looks daft. The injection point looks too much like a mouth. The mistika one wasn't monstrous, it just didn't look like gali, and had a waffle iron for an eye. The new one does look evil though, as does the protectors' mask.

these ones aren't necessarily newly created (or even kraata, since they are spiders rather than slugs). A reboot is likely at this point, but I wish people would stop trying to find evidence for one where there isn't any.

Done in by over specific naming on a picture that didn't hint at it what so ever XD. Glad that they consider it important enough to make a big announcement of it.

I liked the bags. While they don't have the appeal of canisters, I can store them all in a single titan box. As for the new packaging, I have no experience of it, and can't even really tell how it's supposed to look.

Not remotely. I don't see why anyone would jump to that conclusion. You can have a new audience just by not going into too much detail about what came before. Lego is always trying to hook in new people, every year, but they don't reboot every wave. it COULD be a reboot, but just the suggestion of appealing to a new audience doesn't add anything to that argument.

Black and Purple is awesome. Black, purple and gold is questionable. Black, purple, gold and silver is nasty. Black, purple, gold, silver and yellow is ridiculous! Kids aren't stupid lego. they don't need colour coding to show them where the function is. If they own the set, they will probably have assembled it themselves. -_- Design wise, I love how Onua looks, but that colour scheme is so annoying. I see no gold on Pohatu, Gali, or lewa, and I think it's very much deliberate.

What's the alternative? 2 bits attatching from the sides? They only ever did that with splitface, because he had to have a 2 coloured head. I think front and top were always the only 2 possibilities.

I think he's referring to Kopaka's massive chunky legs. If he left after 2.0, he's unfamiliar with the grey piece that allows that design.

If you look closely, one or more arm(s) of each toa aren't actually attatched to the torso. I think we're seeing a "one arm attatches to a technic backpack" style like Brain attack Bruizer.

Actually, most masks just sit on the front of the face, held on by a strap don't they? I know that's how a lot of old tribal masks worked. Obviously, a strap isn't a lego connection, so the closest analogue is having them attach at the front.

I can't help but facepalm at the people In the comments section of the TTV vid still complaining about HF parts, or even calling these worse than HF for some reason. -_- Also, I should probably sleep now. I've managed to stay up till 2am watching this thread XD

actually, weren't the kraata wiped out by the golden armour? That would suggest a reboot. I hope I'm wrong.

I agree, why would a single weapon piece not be finished and need a placeholder, when ALL the other new molds are in these images?

do you literally drop everything when ever anything Bionicle related happens, Mezo? you always have a video out as soon as any news occurs. I just have visions of you lurching awake in the middle of the night going "the fandom needs me!" XD

Why are the toa in leather underwear? In seriousness, I like that Kopaka, Lewa, and Gali seem to have shoulderpads. It's something I've often tried to do on mocs, to no avail.
