anyone remember whether HF had a presence at comic-con in 2010? Also, Tahu's price being due to torso McGuffins is highly likely, given Lego's approach to titans lately (e.g. Fangar, Furno XL, etc).

3 of the Toa are more expensive than Lord of Skull spiders? Did NOT see that coming. Honestly though, I can't see Tahu having enough pieces to warrant that price. Hopefully he's bigger than he looks.

All the more reason to give some of them set forms. I doubt people would be confused by a toa of Iron or Plantlife.

soo... a golden giant is going to rise from underneath the Kini Nui and wear it on its head? I'm game for that Regarding obscure elements, I would love to see them, as I've recently read a Bionicle fanfic that convinced me that they can be done well. The only one I'm still unsure about is Plasma. How do you differentiate it from Fire?

Indeed, transformers has been mentioned quite often in this thread, and I didn't here anyone complaining. We only use the MLP comparisons because they apply. Six coloured heroes harness the elements to fight of villains with shadow powers. Sound familiar? A power rangers comparison would also be apt, if rangers ever had any semblance of character.

I'm still holding out hope that this is a continuation, so he'll just be Takanuva from the start. I was never that fond of his MoL voice. I do still want as many recolours of these new kanohi as possible though. Come on Lego, just bring back mask packs please!

I thought the voice acting in TLR was fine. (much better than the most recent hero factory, certainly). Most of the voices were exactly how I imagined the characters sounding.

Let's just compromise and have Micheal Dorn play everyone.

I would definitely want Andrew Francis back as Jaller if he ever played a role (again, since one of his MLP voices is ideal for Jaller's toa form) Dunno about Tahu though... And what's this rascist LOMN portrayal you mention? I remember almost nothing about Whenua other than his incredibly cheesy "cus that's what friends do" line in Web of Shadows.

on the flip-side of that, after hearing Mata-Nui in TLR, I kinda want Micheal Dorn to be the next Optimus. Wow, apparently he was Vakama in the Metru-Nui movies! Now THAT was a good voice.

It's not that he was Irish, it's that the accent was done so over-the-top. Some Irish family members of mine get annoyed by portrayals like that. Not properly offended or anything, but I had to hold in laughter during Lewa's scenes due to how comical it was. I wouldn't remotely mind seeing him be Irish again, if it were just toned down a little, like the voice of an actual person

Jamaican would make slightly more sense. Why was he even Irish? Because he was green? Also, inB4 someone complains that we're discussing VA's because "it's too theoretical".

Lewa was a bit annoying to me simply because of how overdone the accent was. It sounded like something out of a lucky charms advert. (That and the fact that treespeak is irritating).

Arcee from Prime? Yeah, that was a great voice.

1:Pohatu was voiced by Trevor Devall in MoL I think, and I really liked him in it. I loved how smug and happy he always was. McNiel was Onua though, and he sounded a bit daft. 2: Lewa was Irish 3: I liked Gali's voice, but I may be biased because its exactly the same voice as an mlp character the same actress plays, complete with the same modulator.

They know the fandom well. Anyway if they're preparing the website, an official reveal is likely coming soon anyway, I doubt they remotely mind us knowing this.

aaannddd TTV already has a video up on it. Those guys work fast XD. Regarding the mask, it looks very thin at the bottom. I hope it covers the face properly. :/

O_O it's gorgeous. It looks almost Tolkien-esque.The over the top appearance and crown like design make me think that it will probably be very powerful, and have a lot of story significance. It certainly doesn't look like any random mask.

I look forward to the 3-part epic in which Omega Tahu and Hiker Mike team up to defeat Greg Farshtey.

wait wait wait... there's a slizer combiner called HIKER MIKE? that's the actual name? Lego, I love you XD. Very impressive modernized kaita btw Aanchir, and while I feel like your idea about colour schemes has its limits (some combiners look decidedly gaudy) I agree that people are sometimes too dismissive of sets/mocs that use more than 2 or 3 colours.

Yeah, not to mention that I can't think of a single example of the main set being compromised for its role in the combiner. In things like power rangers, some zords are only good for combining and nothing else, but in Bionicle, you always seemed to get a fully fleshed out figure. So I'd definitely be excited for combiners, especially kaita.

Favorite Bionicle (or any constraction figure) Titan?
Timeline15 replied to TheGreatSpirit's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Probably Brutaka or 08 Takanuva for me. Never got the chance to get Icarax sadly. -
assuming that even is a figure, and not a random light effect, I would take a guess that it might be the spirit of Mata Nui, watching over the battle.

That was the problem I had with Tren Krom too. It just didn't feel right to have a creature in the Bionicle universe that was blatently not made out of Bionicle pieces, particularly since almost all the other animals were. I get that the pieces were supposed to be the cybernetic bits with the toa, but the other creatures just looked that way (including the more organic glatorians), so having Tren Krom just be a fleshy mass was weird to me.
