  1. Very nice looking!, I'm using a similar technique on my ships for the tumbelhome. One minor note though the Victory was a three decker, this is only a two decker which means its as small as a 64 gunner to as big as a 80 gunner.
  2. absolutely stunning! rates a 6 out of 5
  3. I got it and love it, although I've had very little time to play lately.
  4. Both the Lego product number and the bar code though are for the A Wing
  5. I like newsletters, but i'm usually lurking around anyways.
  6. most ships of that era had a manger for'ard along with a large stove aft of that.
  7. used measurements from cpu model & whitehall info to get all the dimensions, sketched in pics on grid sheet, figured approximately that one stud equaled about one foot (very approxiamately!) Roughed in the keel and started building from there. Btw my the keel on my new ship the Agamemnon is pretty much done, and got 40 cannons built already, it won't be quite as big as "legopirate83's" MOC since his is 100 gunner and mines only 64 but it will be pretty darn accurate and pretty darn big. My wifes having a fit trying to figure out where I can put it.
  8. well I was eating kraft diner and hotdogs while working on it. final draft to be posted apon receipt of next BL shipment
  9. Eh? I beg to differ. Mine is very much built to scale.
  10. Looks like I've got some competition in the big boat division, looks really really good! I like the separation between the gun decks. Good proportions on the hull. I liked the errika too, the only thing I'm not sold on is the spars. they look a bit fat or something.
  11. 4 1/2 rate...ha! I crack me up...hows this then. remember these terms where used over a two hundred year age of sailing in primarily the british navy so there were some changes to the definitions over time. First Rate - 100+ Guns Second Rate - 90-98 Guns Third Rate - 60-88 Guns Fourth Rate - 46-60 guns Fifth Rate - 32-44 guns Sixth Rate - 20-30 guns
  12. Typically ships with 18 guns or so would be called a brig (if english) or a corvette (if french) if it had 24-44 guns on a single gun deck it would be a frigate. While two decker 3rd and 4th rate ships of the line had 64, 74,80 guns and the bigger 1st and 2nd rate three deckers would have between 98-120 guns.
  13. yeah but those NBA arms really suck. hands and arms are all one piece.
  14. Just to throw my 2 cents in here. I find to break up a bland wall, using 3 colors works good, there are at least three shades of grey available now. Also adding in "moss" with those green leafy lego pieces works well, if you look at any wall thats not metal theres always something growing on it. Also if you use tall slanty pieces on the base of the wall every so often or even a small "pile" of rocks near the base of the wall cuts down on the blandness.
  15. I shoulda been more specific, sorry about that!
  16. Hi Ben! Whats up? Whats type of lego do you like, where you from?
  17. Welcome Phred! Looks good! yeah I have a black barrel like that somewhere too. Aaron PS Say are you the same Wisconsin Phred who reviewed my frigate? If so lets see some of your frigate pics and also thankyou for the kind words.
  18. what you did like my pics? "sniff"
  19. gooey...like natelite's newly departed breakfast? The Flying Dutchman from POTC was kind of a greenish grey color. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/morsea10.../davyjones2.jpg
  20. I can be MORE disgusting...mmmmm...pre chewed and pre heated breakfast! yummmmm! :) Any who thats abit off subject. One thing I noticed during that spongebob episode was that there are no visible cannons, lots of rope and barrells and stairs, but no cannons.
